None of the machine concepts available on the market have so far been able to meet the above-mentioned requirements simultaneously in an optimal way.For the first time in the world, PRÄZOPLAN combines these requirements simultaneously by means of the fundamentally new concept of the aerostatically planar guide, in which a single slide generates the travel directions X and Y simultaneously by sliding over a plane instead of the usual stack of linear guides. Overcoming the limits of conventional machine tools In conventional machine tools, the individual linear axes are stacked one on the other. The central problems of the conventional machine tool manufacture are due to this and can be avoided by the PRÄZOPLAN concept. The adding up of the errors (higher inaccuracy), the adding up of the masses (lower dynamics) and a reduced rigidity due to an indirect force flow (reduced productivity).Instead of two linear axes stacked on each other, the machine slide of the PRÄZOPLAN generates the X and Y axis directions simultaneously by means of planar aerostatics. The slide with a very high rigidity floats on an air cushion over a finely lapped granite surface. Like a height gauge on a measuring plate, it can be moved over the entire plane and maintains its precision over the whole stroke - and adopts the micron accuracy of the granite. The XY slide is driven by a traverse kinematics with linear scales and ball screws of the latest design. The traverse itself also has an aerostatic bearing and moves the XY-slide without passing inherent errors to it (decoupling).The aerostatics especially developed for the PRÄZOPLAN is generously sized and has a low air consumption. Due to the very high damping and rigidity of several 1000 N/µm, excellent milling results can be reached, and it is absolutely frictionless and wear- free for extremely precise positioning movements, constantly over the service life.
