What if…What if you could predict the future? But no one believed you?

Imagine having known on September 10th, 2001, that terrorists would crash planes into the Twin Towers the very next day. You went to all the news stations, warning that this horrific event was about to take place….. And no one believed you?

What would you do?

Cassandra’sDilemma:

The previous situation is known as Cassandra’s Dilemma, which comes from Greek mythology.

Cassandra was a beautiful woman who was the daughter of King Priam, the last king of Troy. She was granted the gift of prophecy from the Greek god Apollo, because he loved her. When she refused to return his love, Apollo cruelly twisted her gift. She now was doomed to tell the truth, but not to be believed.

She accurately predicted the destruction of her homeland of Troy, but her warnings went unheeded.

Cassandra’s DilemmaIn this Lesson, we’re going to learn about men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting the environment. In doing so, they’ve faced their own Cassandra’s Dilemmas.

Just as no one listened to Cassandra’s warnings of her homeland’s destruction, these people you’re about to research in this lesson have faced similar reactions to their own preductions of what’s happening to our Earth.
