RANGITOTO VOLCANIC EXPLORER TOUR

Hop aboard this 4WD tour and learn about Rangitoto’s fiery past. Journey through the largest Pohutukawa forest in the world, a treasured fern glen and rugged lava terrain as you make your way to the base of the summit of Rangitoto. From there it’s a 900-metre walk along a scenic boardwalk to the top. Here you’ll be rewarded with 360-degree views of Auckland City and the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. Your guide will accompany you back to the road train to continue the commentated tour, taking in the western side of the island and back to your return sailing.

Be introduced to Waiheke on the Fullers Waiheke Explorer Tour – a picturesque 40-minute boat trip followed by a 1.5 hour scenic highlights tour of Waiheke’s stunning locations. Cruise to Waiheke through the glorious Hauraki Gulf and on arrival you will be met by an experienced guide who will give you a taste of the views, culture and history that make up the diverse island of Waiheke. On conclusion of the tour, take advantage of the complimentary All Day Bus Pass allowing you to either return to a destination visited on the tour, or discover the island further on scheduled public bus services.

On arrival at the island you will be greeted by your tour driver and taken first to Stonyridge Vineyard for a tour and tastings, plus a scrumptious light lunch. You will then depart for the award winning Rangihoua Estate for some olive tasting, followed by a stop at Wild on Waiheke, which offers optional beer tasting as well as wine. Here, you’ll also get to sample locally produced food; olive oils and preserves. The tour concludes with tastings at the beautiful Mudbrick Vineyard while enjoying stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf. Surrender your senses to the beauty and magic of Tiritiri Matangi Island, situated in the Hauraki Gulf and only a 75 minute ferry trip from Auckland (via Gulf Harbour). From the moment you step onto the island to the moment you leave, you will be entranced by the serenade of gentle birdsong and the lush native bush. Tiritiri Matangi is one of the world’s most successful volunteer conservation projects. It has been re-vegetated with around 300,000 native trees and consequently 12 of New Zealand’s endangered birds and three reptile species have been re-introduced.

DEVONPORT TOURExplore historical Devonport. Travel 10 minutes by ferry from Auckland to Devonport. Tour Devonport by coach and visit two volcanic cones, experience the charm of historical Devonport and enjoy unsurpassed views of the Auckland region. See Maori pa sites on both Mt Victoria and North Head, and the interesting network of tunnels and forts on North Head. At North head take in the best view of Auckland. Enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant. Towards the end of the tour guests have the option of either spending free time in Devonport town centre or visiting the outstanding Royal New Zealand Navy Museum. Cooking class with one of New Zealand’s most dedicated foodies – Mark McDonough. Mark and his dedicated foodie team at Zarbo are at the forefront of the cafe, deli and gourmet food scene in New Zealand. Zarbo is synonymous with quality, innovation and service. Mark’s love of food has taken Zarbo from cafe beginnings to wholesale food provider. He’s a cook, a cookbook author and in tandem with Dean Brettschneider has recently opened New Zealand’s first in-store micro artisan bakery at Zarbo. Here is your chance to explore the shelves of wonderful deli and gourmet foods at Zarbo and then learn how to make two recipes from Mark and Dean’s cookbook – The Cook and the Baker. Firstly traditional potted cheese and secondly Melanzana Dolce (chocolate eggplant dish). These two dishes are flavoursome dishes and easily prepared at home.
