Melt aluminum at 700 C
INTRODUCTION
• Aluminum can melt by various process of furnace like coal, gas, etc. But they all are
very complex not good for economically and environmentally.
• So here, we present the Induction furnace and it is much better then others. Electric
heating is a process in which electric energy is converted to heat.
• First, we required highly resistance wire like Nichrome [40ft of 20avg(0.032inch)] .
Fire bricks K23 for thermal insulating(2300 F). A small crucible for aluminum scrap
and asbestos sheet for the bricks support.

Its works at single phase power supply(230v – 10amp)
Less time consuption
Easy to handle and maintenance
No skill labour required
APPLICATIONS
Induction furnaces may be used for manufacturing, heat engineering
Aluminum casting industries, in larg scale production
The de-gassing of cathode ray tube components is done by
induction heating.

• Power consuption of this event is 6 – 7 kwh. [P = I Rt]

oxidation at very high temperature.
