Description of our town
There is a bridge, a town hall, shopping centre, a riv-er, a lot of schools and high schools for example: Kan-pazar (school) and Ballonti (high school),etc.
Our flag
The flag has two lions and in the middle ship.
Elai-AlaiIn Portugalete all the
years we have a very famous “folklore” show. There are dances of the whole world. Last year in Portugaletes “folklore” came dancers of 5 continents.
San Roque festak
All the years in August we have a very especial celebra-tion in Portugalete: San Roque. There are a lot of people celebrating this.
All the people wears peasant dress. The colour of this dress are white and blue. And people wears a blue tissue boxes in the neck.
Fireworks
The fireworks are a special light things. All the people like this things but the babies no because are very noisy.
Tide gauge (mareometroa)
The Tide gauge Portugalete is a quaint device, like a clock, used to measure tides. It was installed at the end of spring Churruca (Portugalete) in 1883 and was an essential element for navigation since before the construction of the Iron Pier (1887) was a terrible sand bar that caused the failure of navigation low tide. It is currently operational.
