UNIQUELY…
ZEPHYR
A sleek and confident exterior profile. A cabin that surrounds you in true
luxury. A powerful engine and crisp handling. These are the characteristics
that define the all-new 2006 Lincoln Zephyr.
There is one undeniable fact about the Zephyr: it bears the Lincoln badge
proudly, and this luxury sports sedan brings an entirely new attitude.
With the arrival of the Lincoln Zephyr, pure driving pleasure
is right around the corner…
ZEPHYR2006 CLEAN LINES. BROAD SHOULDERS.
BOLD IMPACT.
The Zephyr represents a completely modern take on the luxury sedan.
EXTERIOR STYLING
Let your glance linger along the crisp, clean lines of
the car. The powerful front end, flowing side panels
and tall rear quarter combine to give the Zephyr
an athletic, confident presence. Each individual
element of the exterior design is placed like a jewel
within an elegant setting. The classic waterfall front
grille, brilliant quad-beam halogen headlamps and
LED taillamps.
Finally, the dual chrome exhaust pipes, 17-inch
wheels and available High Intensity Discharge
(HID) headlamps give the Zephyr a spirited attitude,
hinting that this is no ordinary luxury sedan.

consumer brochures…Concept to print. 22 vehicles, french and english, a total of 44 brochures a year.
Photographs were shot for the American market. The challenge: re-design brochures around the photographs to relate to the Canadian market. All brochure deadlines were met. Required stringent organization and design skills.

In the all-new 2009 Lincoln MKS, advanced technology

UNMISTAKABLY LINCOLN
From every angle, inside and out, the 2009 Lincoln MKS is a dramatic expression of inspired design…of beauty and purpose.
Broad, sculpted shoulders and clean, fluid lines combine with a steeply raked windshield and a raised beltline to give Lincoln MKS the commanding look of luxury in motion
The double-wing grille and elegant use of chrome bring a new and contemporary spirit to the Lincoln aesthetic
High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and full-width light-emitting diode (LED) taillamps accent the design, and provide better visibility and longer service life
Powerfully executed aluminum wheel designs – in standard 19" or optional 20" sizes – contribute to the elegance and strength of the Lincoln MKS in profile

UNCOMMON LUXURY
Bridge of Weir leather seating expresses Lincoln MKS’s rich and refined craftsmanship
Bridge of Weir is the same Scottish company that supplied hides for the Ford Model T and the iconic Continental Mark II, as well as the Queen Elizabeth 2, and the Burj Al Arab – the world’s first seven-star hotel
Heated and cooled front seats, and heated rear seats – a class-exclusive – deliver uncompromising comfort
Rare and exotic ebony and olive ash wood accents blend with aluminum and chrome trim to create a cabin environment that is both alluring and authentically Lincoln
An optional Dual-Panel Moonroof comes complete with a power opening front-row panel and a fixed rear panel – both with power sunshades for added comfort and privacy
To help protect rear-seat passengers from the hot sun and limit solar heat buildup when the vehicle is parked, Lincoln MKS comes complete with a power rear sunshade as standard equipment
The shade is controlled by a front floor console-mounted switch
It automatically lowers to provide maximum rearward visibility when the transmission is shifted into reverse

Preventive Maintenance
˛ A poorly maintained vehicle wastes fuel.
˛ Do a routine inspection, such as: check your engine
oil, coolant and power-steering fluid levels; examine
the exhaust and brake systems; top up the windshield
washer fluid; drain moisture from fuel separator and
air systems; and check fan belts, look for punctured
or leaking radiator hoses, check the vehicle electrical
system for cuts and wear to the wires, and check
your tires.
˛ When topping up oil and other fluid levels, be careful
not to overfill; this can cause as much damage
as under-filling.
˛ Clean up any spilled fluids to reduce the possibility of
fire and environmental issues.
˛ Do a “circle check” around the vehicle. Don’t forget to
inspect between the tractor and the trailer, and under
the chasses.
˛ Make sure all lights and signals are working.
˛ Do pre-trip, en-route and post-trip walkaround
inspections and report all defects.
Tires, Wheels & Maintenance
˛ Check tires for depth of tread, cuts or tears, scuffing,
sidewall splitting and uneven tread wear.
˛ Improper wheel alignment is a major cause of tire wear
and can increase fuel consumption by up to 2-3%.
˛ Driving at high speed also reduces tire life.
˛ Don’t drive with under-inflated tires. Tread wear is
greatly increased and fuel consumption increases by 5
percent for every 10 pounds of under-inflation.
˛ Driving on under-inflated tires can cause you to lose
control of your vehicle and result in a rollover.
Fast Facts toImprove Fuel Economy10
1 Limit unnecessary engine idling
2 Use progressive shifting: up-shift at the lowest
RPM possible
3 Use cruise control whenever appropriate, weather
permitting
4 Cruise in the engines sweet spot: best fuel
economy is around 1,450 RPM
5 Limit unnecessary shifting: let the engine do the
work
6 Use a light foot on the accelerator or, better yet,
let the truck’s momentum do the work
7 Reduce tractor-trailer gap
8 Check and maintain proper tire pressure for
trucks and trailers, along with uneven tire wear
9 Avoid “jack-rabbit” starts: start out in a gear that
doesn’t require using the throttle when releasing
the clutch
10 Plan ahead for terrain Start Up
˛ Idling at high RPMs for faster warm-up causes
increased wear, especially on piston rings and
cylinder walls.
˛ Normally, three to five minutes of idling is sufficient.
˛ In cold weather, drive off slowly to avoid excessive
engine and drivetrain wear.
˛ Black smoke is a sign that the engine isn’t burning the
fuel completely. Back off on the throttle. Not only are
you wasting money, you could damage the valves,
turbocharger and other components.
˛ Seeing blue or grey smoke: the engine is burning
lubricating oil and needs maintenance. White smoke
commonly occurs on a cold start and is nothing more
than condensation that will disappear when the engine
warms up.
Weather Conditions
˛ Driving through snow can increase rolling resistance
and can increase fuel consumption by up to 20
percent. Reduce your speed to conserve fuel and
improve safety.
˛ Heavy rain increases rolling resistance and fuel
consumption. Reduce your speed to conserve fuel
and improve safety.
˛ Wind increases aerodynamic drag, causing the engine
to work harder. Reduce speed by 10 kilometres per
hour to avoid wasting fuel.
