Corporate Identity and Design for a Political Agency

Collet Concepts & Communication (CCC) is a small agency that develops creative concepts and communicative solutions for political, social and scientific institutions and actors. Therefore CCC offers its clients a variety of services in the field of communication, conception and moderation: For instance, the project development for a nonprofit association that is focussed on the issue of Corporate Social Responsibility. The relaunch of a website for a political institution, where CCC was in charge of developing a new structure, optimized content and a new online-strategy has been another project. Also moderation skills of CCC are in demand, for example for a workshop with several companies with the topic Employer Branding. And for a big scientific publishing company CCC produced an interview-edition about capitalism. The common scope of all projects of CCC is the political reference. The idea behind the CI of CCC was to create a clean, serious but also modern label and design that reflects competence, reliability and creativity.

Agir u Gowend The Fire and the Wedding: Poster, Booklet and Flyers for a Video-Exhibition in Depo Istanbul

Depo Istanbul is an exhibition center which aims to host contemporary works of international and local artists. Post-structural discourses such as diversity, colective memory, integration problems, sub-cultures, gender studies and gentrification in urban areas are being handled dialectically by those artists.

Agir u Gowend The Fire and the Wedding is a video and photography exhibiton that took place in the Depo Istanbul at summer of 2012. These videos are essentially the visual record of the struggle of Kurdish villagers from Kotrans in Hakkari to maintain their livelihood and identity after they were displaced and forced to migrate by the state in 1994, settling in the suburban area Trkz in Ankara and earning their living by collecting waste paper at the city center.

The Fire and the Wedding reveals what has been experienced in this countrys capital citys garbage as the projection of the Kurdish struggle for existence through our shared visual testimony.

    Fictional Dystopian State

Power is not an institution, and not a structure; neither is it a certain strength we are endowed with; it is the name that one attributes to a complex strategical situation in a particular society.

    Michel Foucault

Notonomia is a fictional state, which happens to share many resemblances with the real states of our present world. In this futuristic yet dystopic state, the society is alienated, autonomy of people is coded, reduced, and then again decoded by certain power structures. Corruption, exploitation, cast-system, consumerism, integration problems are all over to observe despite the fact that its widely denied by its very own state.

In a room surrounded by posters, newspaper reductions and informative materials from this foreign state, Notonomia addresses to the negative tendencies of our sociopolitical system and let the visitor question its own perception of concepts such as hegemony, democracy, constitution, civil-society, church, and welfare.

The Magazine Dedicated to the Booming Years of Volkswagen

Wagen was the first academical at the same time personal project, which I achieved after a long course of commercial work. In this particular project, one of the most succesfull German enterprises had to be chosen from the list of DAX (German Stock Index) in order to establish a new costumer magazine. In this case, I chose Volkswagen just to honour its importance during 60s by making the VW Beetle one of the most iconographic cars of all time.

After a research, I intented to mix certain visual language of magazines from this epoch with my own illustrations and taste of typography. In this manner some elements were taken from the visual language of the era, some were just left and not used. Meanwhile, topics regarding to 60s primarly about VW Beetle, psychedelic-music, pulp-stories and vintage stuff were used in a particular row. At the end a homage project for VW has come true.

Social Campaign Project for the City of Mnster

Bertelsmann AG is a well-known corporation that produces, serves and markets media in Germany. Their content is contributed by RTL Group, the No. 1 European broadcaster; Random House, the worlds largest book-publishing group; Gruner + Jahr, Europes biggest magazine publisher; and BMG, the division which holds the joint venture stake in Sony BMG Music Entertainment, the second-largest music company worldwide. Besides, Bertelsmann Foundation has been involving in social-campaigns on various themes and aims, such as integration of the minority, protection of the enviroment or deficiency of medical services in Africa.

In this particular social-campaign, students and academicians of Marketing and Design departments worked together to create a social-engagement that would stimulate the youth for getting involved in any kind of social-action, such as working voluntarily in a retirement home or helping handicapped people. Due to the needs of target audience, this campaign had to look cool, dynamic and young. After the establishment of logotype, printed materials and web page, some promotional give-aways; such as flyers, stickers, tattoos and buttons were also created.

    Non-Profit Political Student-Magazine Project

360 is a non-profit student organization that has been founded by a group of political science and communicational science students from the University of Mnster in 2005.

The collaboration between Mnster University of Applied Science and Mnster University of Political Science has begun at the beginning of 2006. As the art director of the magazine, I completed the entire issue under the guidance of Professor Quass Von Deyen. Economical restrictions has led some decisions regarding to format, such as half of the magazine was published in black and white and half of it in color. 30.000 copies from the first issue were distributed mainly in the university cities of Germany and Switzerland, such as Mnster, Hamburg, Berlin, Marburg, Leipzig and Basel.

The team of 360 has been changing constantly in order to keep alive spirit of the concept student-magazine. After I had created the entire first two issues, I passed the torch to new recruits.
