This work aims to discuss the unreliability of languages. We human beings created alphabets in order to record our thoughts. People of different cultures write in differ-ent languages even though their ideas are the same. One way we communicate is by translation. Without translation, many thoughts and ideas can not be understood. I doubt if people can really understand what people think in other languages? I trans-ferred 26 English alphabets into QR Codes, and then removed the common part of the codes. The rest of them were regarded as a kind of alphabets. Each of them indeed stands for one alphabet, but we can not understand at all. Only if we combine them with the common part and then scan them by a smartphone can we get the meanings.

To a single young man living alone, want to put different kinds of

furniture in a small room is impossible. However, only some simple

furniture can not fit the need in daily life. Without a chair for

a visitor but having a big bed only for sleep. We often define our

space by furniture we put.Where the kitchenware put is called kit

-chen; where the bed put is named bedroom. What if we only have a

small space? Let’s try to vague the definition brought from furn

iture.Let the space has more possibility. It’s a bed which could

change its usage. We hope that under the same space, develop diffe

rent functions of the same furniture through each situations, chan

ge different funtions of furniture to further affect the atmosphe

-re of space. The concept of“tr n t ”comes from here.

When friends come with food

What if there are no tables and chairs

Pulling the table and putting aside the mattress

Bed then becomes a table and sofa

Sitting on the sofa

You can watch TV and eat snacks

It’s just like sitting in the living room

Your room is a bedroom and a living room as well

Why the bed board can not be a big table? How about using it

for other purposes while not sleeping? While sleeping, what

we need is the whole bed board. But in other time, we can use

part of the board as a piece of table. The extra space is ju

-st for the original bed mattress. Then the gap of the board

becomes the sofa. The bed is then disappearring ! Now we have

a wide couch and a table for magazines or newpapers.

Rethink about the bed -- it is big but we seldom use in the room. Since the space can’t be larger and furniture can’tbe more. How about changing the usage of furniture accordingto different needs.tr n t combined three elements of furniture - bed, sofa, and table. According to our behaviors in dif-ferent situations,“tr n t ” changes its form subsequentlyand satisfy our needs in a small space.

Just like Architecture or Landscape Design, I would like to create a series of Visual elements from a 2 diementional sur-face and each of them can be produce by drawing tools.

The colours, blue and black, are also adopted from blueprints and CAD, which gives a sense of Space design related brand.

A Lonely Journey

The author died in January, 2009. He had a miserable life which really shocked me after I heard of his story and howhe died in the end. He was burnt to death by his adopte son in the early 2009. I redesigned and made the handbook to mourn him. Having undergone World War II, Chinese Civil war and his parents’ death, as a young soldior, he came to Taiwan with the KMT troops in 1947 and had been stay-ing in Taiwan till 1989, in which he first went back to his hometown.

He took up writing when he was little and had been keen on it even when he served in the army or taught in junior high school. However, unlike other writers and po-ets, he was not interested in fame or wealth and he spent allof his savings to take care of his adopted son who was seriously mentally ill so he always lived in poverty. Sadly, earlier this year, he was burned to death by his son because of refusing his request for money.I redesigned this book as I felt sad about the author’s life. He had never go the reputation he deserved and lived a miserable life. The reason of his death is also unacceptable and unbelievable for me.

I felt it is no fair for him in my mind; therefore the only way what I can do for him is make something for him with my greatest efforts. By taking this inconvenient way, I would like to slow down reading speed and to increase reading difficulty as I do not think readers can feel his miserable life by just browsing. I also hope this layout will make it necessary for readers to put the book on the desk to read by looking over carefully, which has readers unconsciously show their respect for the book in action(even though it is only expressed in form).

The book is a collection of all the quotes from books I read and some of my writ-ing in the past one year. Each of them can be taken away by the viewers as long as it interests them. It just like I share ideas with them through this book. Af-ter one year research, I realised that everyone lives within a group but is also an independent individual. We take pleasure in tremendous happiness, but endure immense loneliness, because we are so close, yet the distance between people’s hearts is so far. By observing the crowd and myself, I try to find out what makes us identical to each other, and what makes each of us unique. Perhaps ultimately I find that, although we are essentially the same, our mutual interactions and ac-cumulated experiences make each of us different. It is also because of our memo-ries of such interactions, that we can be further assured that we are truly living. (JiGuangPianYu)” is a Chinese four word idiom, which means the precious moments in life. I adopted the idiom for my book’s name to refer to what I have experienced and learnt this year. Just like I mentioned previously, they may not important to others, but indeed inspired me. And that is why we are different from one another.
