Die Überlegungen des Leichtbaus besteht aus den folgenden Bereichen:

“Saddle surface”, also called as a hyperbolic paraboloid, belongs to the anticlastic geometry: At every point on the form, it is curved in two opposite direc-tions. It is the definition for this geometry that “A hanging parable is led by a standing arc parable on the spot.”

Das Strukturellefaltwerk

Das Faltwerk ermöglicht, eine Konstruktion faltbar zu werden, bzw. dessen Volumen zu verkleinern, damit wird die Konstruktion leichter beim Transportieren und flexibler bei der Nutzung. Die Belastung auf der Konstruktion wird durch die Falte entlang einer Kante der Einheiten nacheinander auf den Boden geführt.

Die Aufblasbarepneumatik

Hätte sich die Einheiten eines Faltwerk mit der pneumatischen Technik getroffen, wäre die ganze Konstruktion noch erleichtert, indem eine Einheit statt aus festem Material, z.B. aus Karton, doch aus leichter Folie besteht, z.B. PVC- oder ETFE-Folie, je nach dem Nutzungsbe-darf. Die Verstärkung einer pneuma-tischen Einheit wird durch die ständig Belüftung erfüllt, falls die Konstruktion in einer Großmasse, bzw. auch durch Aufblasen, wenn es gegensinnig ein Modell ist. Dadurch ändert sich unsre Faltwerk-Vorstellung, die harte Scheibenk-anten wird dann durch die Kissen ersetzt und abgerundet.

If the units of one folding structure meets the pneumatic technique, the

whole constructure gets even lighter, in this way, one unit is composed of

solid material, for instance the cardboards, however of lighter folie

instead, for example the one from PVC or ETFE, depending on the usage

needs. The strenghthening one pneumatic unit is achived by a

continuous ventilation, when it’s in a big scale, so as also by blowing-up, in case that it’s other way around a

model. In this way, our imagination of folding works changes: the solid slab edge will be replaced and rounded by

the pillows.
