Offshore

In the Offshore business segmentTechnip performs engineering,procurement, construction,installation, commissioning and therefurbishment/upgrading of offshorefacilities for the oil and gas industry.

Technip provides these services forfixed platforms in shallow water withconventional sub-structures andself-installing platforms such as theTPG 500 and for deepwater facilitiesincluding Spar, semi-submersible, TLP,FPSO and FLNG units. Onshore

Technip covers the full range ofonshore facilities for the oil and gaschain, petrochemicals and otherenergy industries (nuclear, renewablesincluding biofuels and offshore wind).It holds many proprietary cutting-edge technologies and is the leader inthe design and construction of LNGand gas treatment plants as well asethylene, hydrogen and syngas units.

Subsea

Technip places the highest emphasis on quality, health, safety and the environment.The health and safety of everyone at worksites, yards and vessels, as well as ofthe personnel who will operate the industrial facilities, are also a top priority forour yard in Pori, Finland. The same commitment extends to protection of theenvironment and quality. The concerns are addressed at the earliest stages ofdesign, and appropriate measures are taken at each stage of project execution.Quality objectives govern the way all activities are conducted.

Safe and flexible assembly / loadout facilities

330t/50m assembly crane and 2,400t RMS lifting systemTwo heavy (450t/m and 280t/m) assembly and loadout rails for Spar hull loadoutand other heavy assembliesUnique loadout system consisting of the purpose-built 11,000t barge "Harry"which during loadout lies on a concrete foundation on the seabed, togetherwith roller beam hydraulic skidding equipment. Alternatively, loadout can behandled by multi-wheeler directly to the barge.

The turnkey delivery of Astra to the Caspian Sea incooperation with local yard in Astrakhan for Khazoil(LUKoil) was completed in May 1999. The scope ofwork included transportation of the jack-up Astra insections to Astrakhan for reassembly and finally foroperation in the Caspian Sea.

Friede & Goldman, Dada Gorgud(Kaspmorneft), V/O Sudoimport,former Soviet Union, delivered inJune 1978, and upgraded in Bakuduring 1998 using the yard of alocal alliance partner.

Our strong construction management experience, in-depth knowledgeand proactive cooperation with other Technip companies and with thelocal industry enable us to deliver solutions for the safe and efficientexploitation of offshore oil and gas resources.

The analysis procedure includes strength check for all structures under the defined extreme conditions, calculation of fatiguedamage accumulation at critical locations during the voyage and, in case of overhanging parts, a study of slamming of thoseparts.

Spar hull, supports and ship hull analysed during seatransportation by a direct spectral based calculation procedureutilising 3D hydrodynamic and structural models.

In the summer of 2001 we carried out the first single pieceTruss Spar transport across the Atlantic Ocean from ouryard in Finland to the Gulf of Mexico. For this majorchallenge the largest existing heavy lift carrier wasdeployed. During the Summer of 2008, the 8th single pieceSpar hull was transported to the Gulf of Mexico.

Advanced transport analysis andengineering make it possible toperform single piece transport of Sparhulls directly from manufacturing siteto area of operation.
