Content of the issue

1. ACADEMICS

A) PARENT TEACHER MEETING FOR VII Std. Parent Teacher Meeting for VII Std. was conducted on 03-06-2019 during the afternoon session. Sri V.V.Bhat, (Hon. Secretary )addressed the meeting. Mrs. Myna Reddy (Principal) briefed the activities, Tests and Exams in a Power Point Presentation. Dr. K.N. Hari Bhat ( Hon. Jt. Secretary) , class teachers of Std. VII and students were present.

B) VII Std. COMMON PPEC MEETING Teachers handling Kannada, Math, General Science and Social Science attended the meeting held at different branches of PPEC to discuss and to plan for the Common question papers to be set for Summative Assessment –1. The meeting for Hindi was held in our school.

C) I UNIT TEST I Unit Test (Std. I—IV ) and Formative Assessment –1 ( Std. V, VI and VII) from 27-06-2019 to 03-07-2019.

2. CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

A) PARENT INTERACTION PROGRAMME

Parent Interaction Programme for the following classes were held in the Auditorium

“Be a part of the solution not a part of

the pollution”.

“Yoga is a light which once lit will never dim, the better your practice, the brighter your flame”.

Class II : Date 08-06-2019 Resource Person : Mrs. Nisha Menzis Rao Topic : “Teaching Children personal Safety Skills

Class VI : Date 22-06-2019 Resource Person : Mr. Venkatasubba Rao Topic : “Raising independent and responsible children”

Class V : Date 29-06-2019 Resource Person : Dr. Alka Kinra Topic: “Developing the three requisites of success” [ confidence, Self-belief and independence]

B) WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

World Environment Day was celebrated by displaying articles on the bulletin board to create an awareness about environment. Class I students brought and displayed different kinds of plants and talked about it. Mrs. Myna Reddy.N.S.(Principal) explained the relationship of human beings with the environment and the uses of plants.

C) INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21-06-2019, Mrs. Myna Reddy.N.S. (Principal) briefed about the importance of Yoga. VII Std. students Sinchana.V and Swaroop.V.B. gave a brief speech and stressed on the importance & benefits of Yoga. Students of class VI and VII performed various Asanas under the guidance of the Yoga Trainer Ms. Muktha.

D) INAUGURATION OF KINDERACT CLUB

Kinderact Club was inaugurated on 22-06-2019 (Saturday) at Poornaprajna High School premises. The Chief Guest for the day was Sri. Suresh Dattatray Ghorpadkar, President of Rotary Club, Bangalore North. Sri. Shekar Brahme, Youth Service Director, Bangalore North was also the guest for the occasion. Mrs. Myna Reddy.N.S. (Principal) and Mrs. Swathi Bhat. M (Incharge) were also present. Office Bearers were selected from Std. VII for 2019-20 *Shreeniketh.V - President *Shreya Fouzdar—Secretary *Deena.Y.A. *Harshith Beerappahalli Directors Students of Std. VII performed a dance for a patriotic song choreographed by Mrs. Jayanthi.S.M. The oath ‘Service above self’ was taken by the students.

E) SCOUTS AND GUIDES

Scouts and Guides classes started for V Std. on 07-06-2019. They joined along with Std. VI—VII. They celebrated World Environment day. Children pledged to beat air pollution and ‘Save Trees’. Activity for Scouts and Guides Scouts and Guides children made paper bags on 28-06-2019 to highlight the usage of old newspapers, which are recyclable and reus-able. Hence created an awareness to beat plastic pollution.

F) LITERARY COMPETITION

Drawing and Singing Competition for class I—VII were held on 01-06-2019 and 03-06-2019 respectively. Story Narration in English ( I—IV ) and Pick and Speak in English (V—VII) were held on 07-06-2019.

G) KALA YASHASWI 2019

Prishni Bhat (VA) received award for outstanding performance in Vocal Music by Kala Yashaswi 2019.

3. SPORTS ACTIVITIES

A) BENCH MARK CRICKET ACADEMY

Anikait Nagaraja Kote (IV A) received a trophy for the most valuable player from Bench Mark Cricket Academy.

B) VIFA CUP ‘19

VIFA Cup ‘19 South Zone Taekwondo championships promoted by Poomsae—Greeshma.P of class III B received Gold and Silver Medal.

C) CHESS COMPETITION

Tejas.K of VI B won I place in Monthly Chess Competition held on 23rd June 2019 by Mind Mentorz Academy. He has received a certificate, medal and a gift coupon.
