t was an honor and a pleasure to have John and Jenny Clor
and Marcie Ciprianni whom are directly connected to
Ford attend last month’s GSRMC general membership
meeting. Marcie Ciprianni is the owner of the SVTstore.com
and a licensed supplier to Ford. John Clor, Enthusiast and
Communications Manager for Ford Performance gave an
awesome presentation, along with Q & A, which was both
entertainingl, funny and informative.
He mentioned the future Ford marketing strategies of
eliminating or stream lining some vehicles and concentration
on Crossovers, SUVs, trucks, and self-driving vehicles. The
power point presentation illustrated, how the Mustang is far
superior than other competitors in the muscle car / sports car
industry. John provided wrist bands, posters, and registration /
insurance card holders as giveaways to all that attended. Very
thoughtful. We inducted John Clor as our first “Honorary
Member” to our club. Many thanks to Helaina and Ron
Semmler for inviting John, Jenny, and Marcie to our meeting.
On Wednesday, August 8th
, Ford announced the
accomplishment of manufacturing 10,000,000 Mustangs. That
is really something to celebrate. Congratulations to Ford.
Our GSRMC club was asked to help out for the Park
& Pitch for Parkinson's Car Show up at Sussex County Miner
Baseball Stadium, on Saturday, July 21. The weather wasn’t
great with the threat of approaching storms all day. Our
members were able to park together in the back section, in a
shaded area. Some of our GSRMC club members volunteered
to help park car show vehicles. Joe Coscia from Michael J Fox
Parkinson's Foundation said that his group raised over $3,000
for the charity that day. I want to thank all of our members
that came out to support the car show and the charity. I would
like to thank everyone that helped park cars. (Please read the
attached appreciation letter from Joe C to our club volunteers).
You can read more about the car show in this month’s
newsletter. Thank you also to Mike D and Mary Ann Hartman
for attempting to sell GSRMC merchandise, with over 30
vendors present they had
some tough competition to
deal with.
July 28th
our club
cruised from John and Linda
Dunsmuir's house through
Hunterdon County to the
borough of Flemington. I
thank everyone involved in
the organization of that great
event.
Last weekend our
GSRMC members (16 mustangs) went to the Mustang Club of
Orange County’s Museum Village Car Show in Monroe, New
York. Several of our members walked away with trophies. The
club also picked up a great bonus. You can read about the car
show in this month’s newsletter.
Summer fun continues:
August 18th
- Cops and Rodders car Show, in Hackettstown
August 18th
- Clu Cruise Night to the Chatterbox, in Augusta

Summer Camp, in Hardwick, NJ. This is a feel good,

in this newsletter and look for a sign up sheet at this month’s
membership meeting.
August 26th

previous years, Picatinny Arsenal BBQ Pavilion picnic area.
This is always a good time. Hamburgers, hotdogs, coffee and
desserts are supplied by our club . We do ask if you can bring
a side dish for all to taste and beverages for yourselves. You
might want to include lawn chairs and a table covering. As
always we attempt to get a nice club picture of members and
their cars in a formation. Please look for the sign up sheet at
this month’s membership meeting for a member count of
attendees, or call Jim Signorelli to RSVP.

GSRMC JULY MEETING
Wow, what a great meeting we had last month! For the fourth month in a
row, we had 60 plus members and guests filling the VFW Hall in
Whippany. While we weren’t serving free food, always a big draw, we
did have John Clor. Besides being a respected author & journalist, John
currently holds the title of Enthusiast and Communications Manager for
Ford Performance (He probably wrote that title too.). John gave a lively
and entertaining presentation on why Mustang is so important to us and to
Ford and why nothing else matters, at least automotively anyway.
Following his presentation, Bill Chernack presented John with
some club swag and made him an Honorary Member of the GSRMC.
Does that mean that he’s taking over as newsletter editor? We’ll talk.
In addition to a Ford Performance banner for the club, John had
plenty of posters, bracelets and sweepstakes cards to give away. John
was also joined by his wife Jenny and Marcie Ciprianni.

MDA SUMMER
CAMP VISIT
s you may know, we have been displaying cars
at the annual MDA summer camp for many years.
This year, it is on Thursday, August 23rd
. The camp is
located at “Happiness is Camping”. It is located at 62
Sunset Lake Road, Hardwick, NJ 07825.
This is always a popular and rewarding event for
both the kids at the camp and the GSRMC members who
attend. Even though we have been helping out the MDA
with financial donations for over 16 years, it is this
opportunity to connect with the kids afflicted with the
diseases that really brings the importance of what we are
doing into perspective. The few hours at the camp can be
both a sad and uplifting experience. We hope that you
will consider making the trip to the camp. The MDA
requires the completion of a Waiver/Release/Consent
form by each visitor, which we will hand to them as we
arrive, and they will shred upon the completion of our
visit.
We will be meeting again like last year at the
food court of the Rockaway Center Mall. If we leave the
mall at 10:30 am, we will have plenty of time to get to
the camp. For directions directly to the camp or further
info, you can contact Jim Signorelli at 201- 845-7014 or
3RD ANNUAL GSRMC
MINI-GOLF TOURNEY
his year’s event will take place on Saturday,
September 22nd
. The club will once again meet at
the Golf Zone, at 239 Route 206, in Flanders, by 2:00
P.M. for 18 holes of mini-golf. After a couple of hours
of showing off our putting prowess, we will either head
over for an “After Party” event at the President’s
residence, Chernack not Trump, (Depending on the
status of his yet-to-be-born Grand Daughter) or dinner at
a local eatery.
We have reserved
the course from 2:00 –
4:00 PM so if attending,
please be prompt. We will
collect fees the day of the event. If we arrive
as a group by 2:00 PM, then we can get the
group rates of $6 or $7, depending upon how
many of us are golfing.
The Golf Zone also has a
36 hole mini course for
the brave, and talented. Look for
more details at the meeting.
AUGUST CLUB CRUISE NIGHT
ur August GSRMC Club Cruise Night takes us to
Sussex County and the town of Augusta. Our
destination, The Chatterbox, is located near the
Skylands Stadium and the Sussex County Fairgrounds.
This Drive-In eatery has been packing them in for years
on Saturday nights. Unfortunately it is slated to close at
the end of the summer to make way for a WaWa (?).
We will be meeting there at about 4:30 – 5:00 pm on
August 18th . We are told that we will have a reserved
spot to park on the left side of the lot but just look for the
Mustangs. If you are going to the Cops & Rodders show
in Hackettstown, a group of club members plan to cruise
over to the Chatterbox from the show.
SAVE THE DATE
GSRMC FALL CRUISE/TOUR
he club will be cruising down to Central Jersey on
Saturday, October 13th for a tour of a private
collection of Mustangs. The collection features rare and
extremely low mileage Mustangs from 1985 thru the
present. We will also be adding in a lunch stop and
perhap one more attraction. Look for more details at the
meeting and in the next neswletter

FORD CELEBRATES PRODUCTION OF
10 MILLIONTH MUSTANG
Ford is celebrating the production of its 10 millionth
Mustang – America’s best-selling sports car of the last
50 years and the world’s best-selling sports car three
years straight.
The 10 millionth Ford Mustang is a high-tech,
460 horsepower 2019 Wimbledon White GT V8 six-
speed manual convertible equipped with the latest driver
assist technology and built at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly
Plant in Michigan. The first serialized Mustang (VIN
001) produced in 1964 was the same color and model
with a three-speed manual transmission and 164
horsepower V8.
“Mustang is the
heart and soul of this
company and a favorite
around the world,” said
Jim Farley, president of
global markets, Ford
Motor Company. “I get
the same thrill seeing a
Mustang roll down a street
in Detroit, London or
Beijing that I felt when I
bought my first car – a 1966 Mustang coupe that I drove
across the country as a teenager. Mustang is a smile-
maker in any language.”
Ford is celebrating the milestone with employee
celebrations at its Dearborn headquarters and its Flat
Rock Assembly Plant, including flyovers from three
WWII-era P-51 Mustang fighter planes and Mustangs
produced for more than five decades parading from
Dearborn to Flat Rock, where the Mustang currently is
manufactured.
During its 54-year production history, Mustang
also was built in San Jose, Calif., Metuchen, N.J., and
the original Mustang production facility in Dearborn,
Mich.
Mustang is America’s best-selling sports car
over the last 50 years, based on Ford analysis of 1966-
2018 total U.S. new vehicle cumulative registrations for
all sports car segments supplied by IHS Markit.
The latest Ford Mustang offers more technology,
exhilarating performance and more personalization than
ever.
The iconic Mustang Bullitt returns for the 2019
model year, with an exclusive 480-horsepower 5.0-liter
V8 engine, plus distinctive design and trim. The classic
California Special also returns with unique design and
trim enhancements.
All 5.0-liter V8 2019 Mustangs with manual
transmissions offer rev-
matching downshifts
come to the six-speed
Mustang GT, while
EcoBoost® gets an
optional quad-tip fully
active exhaust. All-new
custom-tuned 1,000-watt
B&O PLAY high-
performance sound system
and available Apple
CarPlay™ compatibility
for Ford+Alexa and Waze via SYNC® 3 will satisfy
audiophiles.
Mustang Shelby GT350® ascends to a new level
of greatness on the track and off with custom-engineered
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, plus recalibrated ABS
and MagneRide™ suspension for dramatically improved
traction and lateral acceleration. Other highlights include
new interior appointments and optional factory-painted
stripes. An available tech package includes all-new
custom-tuned, high-performance 12-speaker sound from
B&O PLAY, plus heated mirrors with Blind Spot
Information System and Cobra puddle lamps.
The Ford Mustang is now in its sixth generation.
In addition to its sales leadership, the Mustang page has
more likes on Facebook than any other vehicle
nameplate.

MUSTANGS AT THE MUSEUM
GSRMC members had a great time at the Museum Village Show hosted
by Mustang Club of Orange County. It was a beautiful day in a pretty
setting with different types of fowl in abundance. Several of the displays
were open to observe how we lived in days when Mustangs were horses.
The club brought 16 cars and several were chosen as the best of their
decade. Congrats to Bob A, Norm W, Rich P, John D, Domenic I and Jim
S. Dale F was interviewed for the Club Competition to determine the most
civic minded, energetic and well organized club. GSRMC was awarded
1st Place with a check for $500. John P, the chicken was looking for you.

2018 GSRMC CLUB PHOTO
Our annual club photo will be taken at the club picnic
on August 26th this year. Usually the photo is taken
between 12 -1 pm. All members are encouraged to
bring their Mustang or special interest FoMoCo
vehicle to the picnic for the photo. Those who
participate will be given a commemorative copy of the
photo. The photo will also be used on the club website
and for various club advertising and promotional
purposes so we really would like to have a good
showing of all years and models of cars in the club.

FORD NASCAR MUSTANG
REVEALED; WORLD’S
BEST-SELLING SPORTS
COUPE READY FOR CUP
COMPETITION IN 2019
ord today revealed its all-new Mustang
NASCAR Cup race car, the first time Mustang
– the world’s best-selling sports car – will
compete in NASCAR’s top-level Cup racing series.
“Mustang has raced since it was first sold in
1964,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s executive vice
president, Product Development and Purchasing, who
was on hand to help unveil the car. “After more than a
half-century, it feels great to finally let Mustang run in
the top echelon of America’s most popular stock car
racing series.”
Even before Mustang became a global icon, its
first competition was in 1964, when it surprisingly won
the Tour de France Automobile, a grueling 4,000 mile,
10-day rally. Soon after, it began a racing legacy in
SCCA Trans-Am, IMSA, NHRA, Formula Drift and
NASCAR Xfinity – NASCAR’s second tier series.
“Ever since we announced in April that
Mustang would be going to the Cup level in 2019, we’ve
heard nothing but positive feedback,” said Mark
Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance
Motorsports. “Our Ford Performance team has worked
hard with the Ford Design team to create a Mustang that
will be competitive on the track while remaining true to
its proud heritage. We can’t wait to see it winning races
in the NASCAR Cup Series next year.”
Ford Design and Ford Performance worked
carefully to translate Mustang’s signature style to meet
NASCAR rules, ensuring Mustang will look as great on
the oval as it does on the street.
All 13 Ford drivers currently competing in the
Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series were on hand for
the unveiling for employees at the company’s World
Headquarters, along with team owners and NASCAR
executives.
“We look forward to seeing the Ford Mustang,
a cultural icon, on the track in the most competitive
series in all of motorsports,” said Steve O’Donnell,
NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing
development officer. “Our sport eagerly anticipates the
performance, style and fanfare the Mustang will bring to
the track each weekend beginning at the 2019 Daytona
500.”
Mustang has been competing full-time in the
NASCAR Xfinity Series since 2011 and has won a
championship in all but one season. Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
won back-to-back driver’s championships in 2011 and
2012, while Roger Penske has claimed the owner’s title
in four of the last five years.
The first race for the new NASCAR Mustang
will be the Daytona 500 on Feb. 17, 2019.
