1. Polycarbonate Sheets Sheets as per International designed standards - Density/ m2 (Kg/ Sq.m) is reduced by upto 20% due Density/ m2 (Kg/ Sq.m) offered. to silent competition.

2. PC Sheet Quality European/ American standard PC sheets offered Chinese/ Asian versions are supplied with upto 80% with quality material used for maximum light- mixed recycled materials, displaying dark colors and transmission & flexibility of ease in design. improved hardness (develops cracking naturally).

3. UV-protected Co-extruded PC sheets with co-extruded ultra-violet resistant Non-UV coating grades offered. Coating coating of 40-50 microns done on single/ both sides Mostly UV stabilized grades used (stabilizers added

against direct sunlight UV rays are offered. at the time of resin compounding) and no external PC Resins are UV stabilized (by default). coating made.

purlin spacing, which thereby increases the structure cost.

9. Fixing Method Polycarbonate sheets are sandwiched between Alu. Polycarbonate sheets are drilled & fixed with cap- connection profiles (top & bottom) without any screw due to single long span (to save sagging) and penetration/ drilling into its panels. To save the cost of connection profiles.

10. Multi-wall Sheet Span Orientation Polycarbonate sheets are placed parallel to the span No orientation for Polycarbonate sheets followed with hollow flutes positioned in the fall direction. (due to utilization of any wastage part & maintaining low structure cost.

11. EPDM Rubber Profile Always UV-cured EPDM rubber used against sunlight Un-cured (Non-UV) EPDM rubber profiles used which UV rays and direct water contact. dis-integrates (develops cracking) with short aging

and water contact in very short span of time and create voids for leakage.

12. Breather Tape Used for side sealing from the closed side of sheets. Commercially breather tape not used.

13. Aluminium Foil Tape Used for anti-condensation, to avoid any hazing in the Commercially Aluminium tape is not ever used. hollow flutes and to maintain light transmission intact.

14. EPDM bonded Washers UV-cured EPDM rubber bonded washers are used. Non-UV & un-tested rubber washers are used.

15. Hex Head Self Drilling Screws Tested & anti-corrosive plated hex head SDS fasteners Any available cheap fasteners used without any used for ease of fixing, maximum strength and longevity. anti-corrosive treatment.

16. Silicone Sealants Branded Silicone sealants – 900 series for maximum Un-branded & inferior quality Silicone sealants used elongation and expansion used between gaps of with comparative very low elongation & short life. Aluminium connection profiles, joints & EPDM rubber gasket.

17. U-profile Side Sealing U profile aluminium/ polycarbonate sections are used/ Sometimes un-matched U-profiles used by drilling on fixed to cover open hollow flutes in polycarbonate sheets sheet borders and resulting in the unwanted results.

Against capillary action of water, oil canning, dirt, insects resulting in loss of light transmission and thermal loss.

18. Alu. Section Sandwiching The standard imported Alu. Joining sections are fixed for Available commercial profiles are inter-changeable & different thickness’ or can be changed with fixed wall ht. thereby create problem for holding pressure with Polycarbonate sheets.

19. Sandwiching Pressure The pressure over the sheets between the Alu. profiles The pressure is non-uniform due to lose aluminium is uniform and constant throughout the connection on profiles fixed manually and thereby cracking the both sides. sheets on both sides of the Alu. Profile.

The fixing method of plain multi-wall/ solid flat polycarbonate sheets is same and the elements of wet joining system differ slightly and can be checked, once in demand.

Things to Remember

Thermal expansion of the Polycarbonate sheets in length & width to be taken care of. Keeping appropriate SDS/ fastener spacing so as to control the gripping of Polycarbonate sheets. EPDM rubber gaskets should be properly aligned in the respective grooves. Cold-bending of Polycarbonate sheets should not exceed the limits. Aluminium joining profiles should not be fixed with pressure, which may result in cracking the sheets at its ends. Tested SDS hardware should be used for connection safety.

Strength & Weakness’ of Multi-wall Sheets with Wet Joining Connection System

Strengths

1. Multi-wall polycarbonate sheets are easily available.

2. The basic cost of multi-wall sheets is very cheap.

3. Un-limited designs can be created.

4. Provides employment to the work force.

Weaknesses

1. Educative interactive learning with the fabricator/ applicator/ installer & customer for

fixing connection method is missing.

2. The structure cannot be used as temporary part or reused.

3. Cannot be offered as 100% water leak-proof system.

4. Good quality connection profiles, accessories are not easily available.

5. Water leakage is a big problem.

6. Maintenance due to poor fixing & sub-standard quality costs upto half of the system cost, and may demand full change-over, at times.

7. The elements of joining method are too much to pair-up that any poor performed element can disturb the orientation.

8. Engineering is over-ruled.

9. Skilled labour for quality job is not paid for.

10. Full connection system requires a lengthy installation time with a scope of misalignment.

11. Quality work missing.

12. Un-skilled worker independently offers services of fixing & installation with no educative supervision.

Known Facts

First approach of the customer is to compare the price of Polycarbonate sheet with any alternate Complete Polycarbonate system.

The chances of water leakage in the Wet connection joining system are much high due to numberless additions and joints all over.

The cost of standard polycarbonate sheets with Wet connection joining system accessories costs more than any alternate Modular

Polycarbonate Panel Inter-locking System.

Strengths of SUNPAL Multi-wall (Multi-cell) Polycarbonate Standing Seam Architectural System

1) SUNPAL panels have raised collars (protruded up-stands) for interlocking.

2) Multi-cell structure with reinforcements (diamond cuts) and multi-walls resist buckling of SUNPAL Panels.

3) Permanent, co-extruded, ultra-violet protective layer is extruded on external & internal faces.

4) Panel weight/ Sq.m. is very high as compared to plain multiwall polycarbonate sheets, resulting in resistance to high impact.

5) U-profile (snap-on connector/ battens/ Joiner profile) used for interlocking the panels in parallel arrangement and making system water leak-

proof.

6) Thermal elongation is controlled by cleats/ retention clips, includes; T-fasteners (for side-ways) and T-Lock (for lateral movement) supplied

in Stainless Steel 304 grade for non-corrosion.

7) Cold forged hex-cap self drilling/ self tapping tested screws with anti-corrosive plating are used.

8) SUNPAL Architectural system is considered as temporary structure due to its fixing technique with its detachable modular orientation and

defined as free floating system.

9) SUNPAL sectional front sides are sealed with 6063-T5 aluminium sealing & end profiles.

10) Acrylic end caps are used to close U-profile & up-stands at the ends.

11) Additional accessories & profiles in 6063-T5 aluminium are available for different joining methods.

12) Low U-value of SUNPAL system as compared to available comparative Polycarbonate systems.

13) SUNPAL is used for roofs as well as wall-claddings.

14) SUNPAL system has an added advantage of no penetration of any fasteners into the panel, no EPDM rubber gaskets and silicone sealant joints,

therefore defined as Standing Seam Dry Glazed Connection System.

15) Full system is offered by the manufacturer, thereby editing the chance of any alternate combination.

16) SUNPAL system is the latest design available and overcomes all the flaws and weakness’ present in competitor’s products.

17) Fixing & installation is very easy and less time taking for completion.

18) 15 years Material Performance Warranty & 25 years Water Leak-Proof Guarantee of SUNPAL panels are offered.
