1.Telephone Our Car Claims Team on 01 8599700 with the firstnotification of Your claim. They will advise You what to do next andissue all appropriate documentation immediately.

2.Where Comprehensive Cover applies Our Approved Repairer Networkcan be availed of. In the event of the vehicle being unfit to drive theywill tow Your vehicle. This will safeguard the vehicle from any furtherdamage from vandals or against theft of parts. Repairs can commenceimmediately. If the Approved Repairers are not used, obtain anestimate and advise Us immediately and We can appoint an assessor ifnecessary. You may appoint an assessor to act in Your interest (anysuch appointment will be at Your expense).

3.When repairs have been completed pay any contribution for which Youmay be responsible (The Excess) and then take delivery of Your car.

Duty of DisclosureYour attention is drawn particularly toCondition 6 of the Policy. Your coverand the premium calculated are basedon the information provided by You.You must tell Us immediately of anychange in Your risk which materiallyaffects this insurance. Failure to discloseall material information could invalidateYour insurance or result in the rejectionof a claim (i.e. Your Policy may becancelled and any claim(s) may not bepaid) leaving You without protection.

Cooling-Off PeriodYou have 14 days from the start dateof the policy to write to Us at theaddress shown at the bottom of Yourcover confirmation letter if You want tocancel Your Car Cover Policy. This isknown as a cooling-off period.If You cancel Your Car Cover Policyduring this period of time, providedYou have not made a claim, We willrefund Your premium. However, You

will be charged with a pro-ratapremium for the period on risk, duringthe cooling-off period.

Contract LawThe parties to a contract of insurancecovering a risk situated in the Republicof Ireland are permitted to choose thelaw applicable to the contract. Wepropose that the contract will begoverned by Irish Law.

All monies which become or maybecome due under this Policy will inaccordance with section 93 of theInsurance Act 1936 be payable andpaid in the Republic of Ireland in Eurosunless We specifically say otherwise.

Premiums are subject to GovernmentLevy and or contribution whereapplicable. Stamp Duty has been or willbe paid in accordance with section 5 ofthe Stamp Duties Consolidation Act1999 (as amended).

4 Car Insurance Policy

Understanding Your PolicyThis Policy, the Schedule and theCertificate of Insurance areconfirmation of the details of Yourinsurance contract with Us and mustbe read together. Definitions of termscommonly used in this Policy havebeen included to assist You.

Any other word or expression to whicha particular meaning is given will have

the same meaning wherever itappears.

The Sections in Your Policy tell Youwhat is covered. There are alsoExceptions which will tell You of anyrestrictions to cover and Conditionswhich will tell You about Your or Ourresponsibilities or duties under thecontract.

DefinitionsBodily InjuryInjury resulting directly from anaccident caused by violent and visiblemeans.

Certificate of InsuranceThe Certificate of Insurance issued byUs being evidence of Your motorinsurance contract with Us. It describesthe vehicle covered under Your Policy,drivers who may drive Your vehicleand the purposes for which the vehiclemay be used. It also shows the Periodof Insurance.

ExcessThis is the first amount of any claimwhich You have to pay. This amount is shown on theSchedule.

Indemnity/IndemnifyThe purpose of this Policy is to protectYou from the financial impact of anincident involving Your vehicle. Thismay be damage to Your own vehicle,or You may be legally liable for

damage to another person’s propertyor in some circumstances injury toanother person.

Insured VehicleYour vehicle the registration number ofwhich is shown on the Certificate ofInsurance.

Material InformationAny information or detail relating toYou or Your insurance which wouldaffect the premium or the cover underthis Policy (i.e. information which mayinfluence Us in Our acceptance orassessment of this motor insurance).

Period of InsuranceThe period for which We haveaccepted Your premium and issued aCertificate of Insurance.

Insured Personsa) You, the insuredb) Any person specified as a person

whose liability is covered in theCertificate of Insurance

c) Any passenger in, getting into orgetting out of the Insured Vehicle

d) The personal representatives of anyof the above

e) The employer or partner of anyperson whose business use iscovered by the terms of theInsurance whose name is noted onthe Certificate of Insurance but onlyin respect of the negligence of thatperson solely in respect of liabilityincurred under the Policy.

Personal EffectsProperty normally worn, carried orused about the person in everyday use.

ProposalAny information and otheraccompanying details or information provided by You or onYour behalf which may affect the

Terms, Conditions or Premiumspayable in respect of this Policy.

ScheduleThis document shows the Sections ofthe Policy which apply and so describes the cover provided.

Territorial LimitsUnless otherwise stated the coverprovided by this Policy is in respect ofincidents occurring in the Republic ofIreland, Northern Ireland, GreatBritain, the Isle of Man or the ChannelIslands (or in the course of transit bysea or tunnel between any portstherein).

6 Car Insurance Policy

We will insure You against loss ordamage (including damage by frost)to any vehicle referred to in the‘Description of vehicles’ or thestandard accessories and spare partsprovided by the manufacturer. A limitof €650 applies to accessories andspare parts.

We may at Our option repair, reinstateor replace the vehicle or any part of itor We may pay You to cover theamount of the loss or damage.Replacement parts may be sourcedfrom a supplier other than the vehiclemanufacturer’s dealer or agent. Themost We will pay for any claim for lossor damage is the market value of thevehicle immediately before the loss ordamage occurred. This however willnot be more than the estimate of valueYou have given to Us. If We know thatthe vehicle is covered by a hire-purchase agreement, We will pay theowner and have no further liability forthe loss or damage.

If any part of the vehicle shown to inthe ‘Description of vehicles’ is nolonger made or cannot be provided bythe manufacturers, We will pay thecost of such part or accessory set outin the manufacturers last publishedprice list together with the currentlabour charge for fitting it.

If the vehicle cannot be drivenbecause of the loss or damage, Wewill pay the reasonable cost ofprotecting it and removing it to thenearest AIG Repairer Network garage.We will also pay the reasonable costof delivering the vehicle back to Youafter repairing any loss or damageinsured under the Policy. We will notpay more than the reasonable cost oftransport to Your address in Ireland.

You may authorise repairs for thevehicle caused by damage covered bythis Policy as long as the estimatedcost of the repairs is below €400 andYou have given Us a detailed estimateof the cost before carrying out therepairs.

Exceptions to Section 1We will not pay claims for thefollowing:1 Loss of use, loss in value

(depreciation), wear and tear,mechanical, computer or electricalbreakdown, failures or breakages.

2 Damage to tyres caused by usingthe brakes or by road punctures,cuts or bursts.

3 Loss or damage arising during anearthquake, riot or civilcommotion (unless You can provethe damage was not caused bythese events).

Section 1 – Loss or damage to Your vehicle

4 Loss or damage caused bypressure waves caused by aircraft and other flying objectstravelling at above the speed of sound.

5 Loss or damage arising from orcontributed to by the driver’sbreath, blood, or urine alcohollevel being above the legal limitas stated in the Road Traffic Actsor the driver being under theinfluence of drugs (unless suchdrug has been prescribed by aRegistered Medical Practitionerbut not for the treatment of drugaddiction) whilst in charge of the vehicle.

6 Loss or damage due to theft orattempted theft if the keys orlocking device of the vehicle are left in, on or near the vehicle while the vehicle isunattended.

7 Loss or damage to radiotelephones, their componentparts or ancillary equipmentunless permanently fitted orremoved from its permanenthousing and concealed forsecurity purposes at the time of the incident.

8 Any loss or damage in respect of Satellite Navigation equipmentor games consoles andequipment unless permanently

fitted to the insured Vehicle orremoved from their permanenthousing and concealed forsecurity purposes at the time ofthe incident.

9 Loss or damage arising from the continued use of theinsured vehicle in a damagedcondition following an insuredincident.

10 Vehicles which have beenmodified or altered and whichare non-standard to originalmanufacturers specification of the vehicle.

8 Car Insurance Policy

We will cover You against allamounts You or Your personalrepresentative legally have to pay toany person (apart from the peopledefined in the Policy) as damages orcosts due to injuring any person orproperty with any vehicle referred toin the ‘Description of vehicles’. Wewill pay all costs and expenses Youpay or agree to pay with Our writtenpermission.

We will pay the solicitor’s fee forrepresenting You at any coroner’sinquest for any death which We mayprovide cover for under this sectionor for defending any courtproceedings for any act causing anyevent which We may cover under thissection.

People We will not coverWe will not cover:a any person claiming for damage

to property which happens whilethe property was in or on anyvehicle referred to in the‘Description of vehicles’;

b any person claiming for damageto property which happens whileYou owned the property or had itin Your possession or control; or

c any person (other than You) onwhose behalf You claim apayment if that person is entitledto cover under any other Policy.

ManslaughterIf You ask, We will also pay Yourlegal defence costs, up to €1,500,

for manslaughter proceedings ordangerous driving charges undersubsection (2)(a) of Section 53 of theRoad Traffic Act 1961 if theproceedings relate to any eventwhich We may cover under thissection. We will have no furtherliability to You for this if we pay Youthese defence costs (less Ourexpenses up to the date of thepayment).

Exceptions The cover granted for manslaughterclaims will not apply to any suchclaim where the driver has beenconvicted or is being prosecuted forany Road Traffic Act laws relating toalcohol or drugs.

If You drive other vehiclesIn terms of the limits of coverprovided by this section inconnection with any vehicle referredto in the‘Description of vehicles’, Wewill cover You for any event whiledriving a motor car You do not ownor have hired under a hire-purchaseagreement.

Driving an insured vehicleIn terms of the limits of cover providedby this Policy, We will cover any driverreferred to in the ’Description ofdrivers’ who is driving any vehiclereferred to in the ‘Description ofvehicles’ as long as they:

a are not entitled to cover underany other Policy;

b are not in the motor trade anddriving the vehicle to overhaul orrepair it for You; or

c keep to the exceptions andconditions of this Policy as far aspossible.

Fire-brigade chargesWe may pay the charges a fireauthority make under the FireServices Act 1981 for putting out afire in Your vehicle if the fire givesrise to a valid claim under the Policy,or for removing the driver orpassengers from the vehicle usingcutting equipment. The most We willpay for any one claim is €1,500.

10 Car Insurance Policy

Section 3 – If You are InjuredIf You are injured while getting into orout of (or travelling in) any privatemotor car You do not own, We willpay You or Your personalrepresentative the compensation

shown below. The injury must becaused by a violent accident whichcan be seen, and within threecalendar months of the accident,result in the following:

However, the following will apply:a We will not be liable under this

section for bodily injury as a resultof suicide or attempted suicide.

b We will pay under only Section 1to 6 for any one event. We will notpay more than €1,500 during anyone period of insurance. If Youhave any Policy or policies with Usfor any other motor vehicle or

motor vehicles, You can only claimcompensation under one Policy.

c The condition under the heading‘Description of drivers’ whichapplies to any vehicle referred toin the ‘Description of vehicles’ willapply in a similar way with anyprivate motor car You do not ownand have not hired under a hire-purchase agreement.

If You or Your driver or any person inany vehicle referred to in the‘Description of vehicles’ is injured by aviolent accident which can be seen,We will pay You the medical expenses

in connection with the injury up to€650 (restricted to a maximum of €65per day for up to 10 days) for eachperson injured.

Section 4 – Medical Expenses

We will extend the insurance providedby this Policy to apply to any vehicledefined in the ‘Description of vehicles’while in Great Britain, NorthernIreland, the Isle of Man or theChannel Islands. Nothing in this Policyor in any endorsement will affect theright of any person insured by thisPolicy or of any other person to claimback an amount due under the law ofany territory in which this Policy appliesrelating to Us insuring Your liability toothers.However, You must repay Us allamounts We pay which We would not

have had to pay because of the lawmentioned above.

We will insure any person using avehicle if they are liable under theRoad Traffic Acts or laws to pay foremergency treatment of injuriescaused by or arising out of using thevehicle in any territory where any ofthe acts or laws apply.If You make a payment for emergencytreatment under this clause, it is not aclaim under this Policy for thepurposes of the no-claims discountsection.

Section 5 – Use in Great Britain andNorthern Ireland

12 Car Insurance Policy

This Policy will provide the minimuminsurance You need by law for usingany vehicle insured in any countrywhich is a member of the EuropeanEconomic Community and any othercountry for which the Commission ofthe European Economic Community is

satisfied that arrangements have beenmade to meet the requirements ofArticle 7(2) of the EEC Directive oninsuring civil liabilities arising fromusing motor vehicles (Number72/166/CEE).

Section 6 – Use abroad

If You do not make a claim under thePolicy during the period of insuranceshown below, then immediately beforeYou renew the Policy, We will reducethe premium as follows.

Step-back clauseIf You make a claim during any periodof insurance for which We havereduced the premium by 55%, 50%,40% or 30% as above, We will use thefollowing scale when You renew thePolicy.

If You make two claims during anyperiod of insurance for which We havereduced the premium, You will nolonger be entitled to a discount.

If more than one motor vehicle isinsured under this Policy, We will applythe no-claim discount as if You have aseparate Policy for each vehicle.

Section 7 – No Claims Discount

(Applying to the whole Policy)

We will not be legally responsible forthe following:1 a We will not cover any liability

You have under a specialcontract unless You would havehad the same liability if thecontract did not exist.

b We will not cover any loss,damage, liability or injuryarising out of any event whichhappens:■ while any vehicle referred to

in the ‘Description ofvehicles’ is being driven by(or for the purpose of beingdriven by) any person otherthan a driver referred to inthe ’Description of drivers’;or

■ while any vehicle referred toin the ‘Description ofvehicles’ is being used otherthan in the ‘Limits of use’shown in this Policy.

2 Unless We need to meet therequirements of the Road TrafficActs and as long as We do not saydifferently anywhere in thisinsurance or in any endorsement,We will not cover liability, loss,damage, costs or expense causedby, resulting from or in connectionwith any of the following:a 1 Loss, destruction or damage

to any property or any lossor expense resulting orarising from any

consequential loss.2 Any legal liability caused by,

contributed to or arisingfrom:a ionising radiation or

contamination byradioactivity from anynuclear fuel or from anynuclear waste fromburning nuclear fuel; or

b the radioactive, toxic,explosive or otherdangerous properties ofany explosive nuclearcomponent or any part ofit.

b 1 War, riot, revolution or anysimilar event.

2 Any act of terrorism. (An actof terrorism means an act,including using force orviolence or the threat orforce of violence, influencingany government or puttingthe public, or any section ofthe public, in fear. The actmay be committed by oneperson or a group of peoplefor political, religious orother reasons.)

3 Any action taken to controlor prevent terrorism.

4 If We decide not to pay aclaim as a result of b1, b2 orb3, You are responsible forproving the claim is valid. IfWe cannot enforce any partof this exception it will notaffect the other exceptions.

Section 8 – General Exceptions

14 Car Insurance Policy

c We will not cover loss of,alteration of or damage to anycomputer system, hardware,programme, software,information store, microchip,integrated circuit or similardevice in equipment that resultsfrom transferring a computerprogramme that containsanything causing damage suchas a computer virus.

d We will not cover damage toany weighbridge or to any roador to anything in or below thesurface of the road as a resultof the weight of or vibrationcaused by any vehicle referredto in the ‘Description ofvehicles’.

Optional Extra 1 - PersonalAccidentThis cover only applies when PersonalAccident is shown on Your schedule.The cover (what is insured):1 Fatal accident benefit:

If You die, We will pay Yourpersonal representatives €13,000.

2 Hospitalisation benefit:If You go into hospital following anaccident which happens during theperiod of insurance, We will payYou or, if You die, Your personalrepresentatives, €65 a week for aslong as You stay in hospital up to10 weeks for any one accident. Ifduring any period of insuranceYou suffer an accidental bodilyinjury which, independently of anyother cause, results within threemonths of the date of the accidentin Your death or a stay in hospital,We will pay the appropriatebenefit.

DefinitionsHospital means an institution whichhas facilities for diagnosing, treatingand carrying out major surgery andhas accommodation for patients tostay. It does not include a long-termnursing unit, a geriatric or pre-convalescent ward or anextended-care facility forconvalescence or rehabilitation.Bodily injury means an injury causedby something outward and violentwhich can be seen.

You means any person driving whosedriving is covered by the relevantcertificate of insurance.

Exclusions (what is not insured)We will not pay a claim for death or astay in hospital directly or indirectlyresulting from:a suicide or attempted suicide or

deliberately injuring yourself;b You being under the influence of

alcohol or drugs (unless the drughas been prescribed by aregistered medical practitioner butnot to treat drug addiction);

c mental or nervous disorders; ord sickness or disease not resulting

from an injury or from anygradually operating cause.

Conditions applicable to thissection1 We will be entitled to have a post-

mortem examination carried out(We will pay any costs involved).

2 We will pay You, or Your personalrepresentative, the benefits.

3 We will not pay interest under thisendorsement.

Optional Extra 2 - Identity TheftThis cover only applies when IdentityTheft is shown on Your schedule.This section provides You withinsurance cover if You become thevictim of Identity Theft during theperiod of insurance, subject to the

terms, conditions and limitationsshown below. We will pay up to€10,000 for each Occurrence ofIdentity Theft, including €2,500 inrespect of lost wages (maximumpayment any one week €420). AnExcess of €50 applies to each IdentityTheft event.

signing statutory declarations orsimilar documents for financialinstitutions or similar creditgrantors or credit agencies thathave required that affidavits benotarised.

2 Costs for registered mail toGardai, credit reference agencies,financial institutions or similarcredit grantors.

3 Lost wages as a result of timetaken off from work to meet with,or talk to police, credit referenceagencies and/or legal counsel orto complete statutory declarations.If You are a self-employedprofessional, actual lost wagesincludes remuneration for vacationdays, discretionary days, floatingholidays and paid personal days.Computation of lost wages forself-employed professionals mustbe supported by and will be basedon prior year tax returns.Coverage is limited to wages lostwithin 12 months after Yourdiscovery of an Identity Theft event.

4 Loan application fees for re-

applying for a loan or loans whenthe original application is rejectedsolely because the lender receivedincorrect credit information.

5 Reasonable legal fees incurred,subject to our prior consent, for:a) defence of lawsuits brought

against the insured person bymerchants of their collectionagencies;

b) the removal of any criminal orcivil judgements wronglyentered against You;

(Applying to the whole Policy)

1 AccidentsFull details of any incident loss ordamage, including any notice ofprosecution or inquest, must be sent toUs immediately.All communications from any otherparties must be advised to or sent toUs immediately upon receipt.

2 Claims ProcedureUnless We give Our written consentnoone will make any admission oroffer or promise of payment on Ourbehalf, Your behalf or on behalf of anyother person who may be claimingIndemnity under Your Policy. We havefull discretion in conducting anydefence or in the settlement of anyclaim and in prosecuting in Your nameany claim for Indemnity or damages.You are required to provide Us with allinformation and assistance.

3 You must take all reasonable stepsto protect from loss or damage, andkeep in a roadworthy and legalcondition, any vehicle in the‘Description of vehicles’. A claimunder Section 1 of the Policy will onlybe valid where the insured vehicle hasa current NCT certificate. You mustgive Us access to examine the vehicleat all times.

4 If You and We disagree about a

claim under this Policy We will referthe decision to an arbitrator We andYou choose in writing. If We and Youcannot agree on an arbitrator, We canappoint one each. If the arbitrators donot agree, an umpire will decide(chosen by the arbitrators beforebeginning proceedings). The umpirewill sit with the arbitrators during theirmeetings. They must make a decisionbefore You can take any further actionagainst the company. If We refuse topay a claim and You do not refer thematter to arbitration as shown abovewithin 12 calendar months, We willassume You have abandoned theclaim.

5 You must keep to the conditions ofthis Policy or any endorsement or Wewill refuse to make any paymentsunder this Policy.

6 Other InsuranceIf there is another insurance Policycovering the same loss, damage orliability We shall not be liable to paymore than Our rateable proportion ofany claim.This condition does not apply toSection 4 – Personal Accident, ifapplicable.

7 Cancellation of Your Policy andMid-Term Alterations

We may cancel Your Policy by sending

10 days notice to You at Your lastknown address in the event that Wecancel Your Policy. We will return toYou the prorated portion of thepremium for the unexpired Period ofInsurance. You must return theCertificate of Insurance and Disc toUs.You may cancel Your Policy at anytime by providing written confirmationand returning Your Certificate ofInsurance and Disc. Cover will ceasefrom the date of Your instruction or thereceipt of the Certificate of Insurance,whichever is later.Provided there have been no claims inthe Period of Insurance We will returnto You the premium paid less anamount calculated for the period forwhich cover has been provided.

Where any change to the coverprovided by Your Policy results in anadditional or return premium We willnot collect or return any amount lessthan €20. This amount is inclusive ofGovernment Levy.

8 Your DutyYou must not act in a fraudulent way.The information supplied by You or onYour behalf is the basis of Yourcontract of Insurance with us. Youmust ensure that this information istrue. Please note specifically thatfailure to disclose all materialinformation, or disclosures of false

information could result in the Policybecoming void, a claim not beingpaid, claims paid being recoveredfrom you, you becoming liable foradditional premiums which We reservethe right to collect and Terms andConditions of the Policy beingamended.

Material information is any fact thatWe would regard as likely to affect theacceptance or assessment of the risk.It is recommended that You keep arecord (including copies of letters) ofall information supplied for thepurpose of this insurance. Should Wetake any of these actions against You,You will be obliged to disclose themon any future request for cover orquotation with Us or any other insurer.These are considered as theapplication of Terms and this enforcedaction by us, may affect Your ability toget insurance cover in the future.

In addition, by signing the declarationon the Proposal Form, or by agreeingto the information produced in theStatement of Fact You warrant andrepresent to Us that in respect of anyinformation of any person which Youprovide to us, You have the authorityof that person to disclose suchinformation to Us and for all thepurposes set out in this Policy and togive the consents set out above onbehalf of each such person. Wereserve the right to reassess cover and

premium following notification of anyMaterial Information.

If any claim under this Policy (otherthan under Section 2 – Liability toothers) is in any respect fraudulent, orif any fraudulent means or devices areused by You or any person acting onYour behalf to obtain any benefitunder this Policy You will forfeit allbenefits under the Policy. Any personclaiming indemnity under this Policymust adhere to the Terms andConditions of the Policy.

9 Laws relating to CompulsoryMotor InsuranceNothing in this Policy affects the legalright of any person to recover anamount under the laws relating to theInsurance Liability in any countrywhere this Policy operates.If We pay any amount which wouldnot have been payable but for theprovision of that law We retain theright to recover that amount from You.

10 Deferment Clause – PenaltyPoints and Road Traffic ActsConvictionsIf any conviction or offence (includingthe receipt of penalty points) in thecurrent Period of Insurance has notbeen taken into account in thecalculation of the Renewal PremiumWe reserve the right to treat theoffence or conviction as having

occurred in the next Period ofInsurance.

11 The expression ‘public place’ willhave the same meaning for thepurposes of this Policy as it has for thepurposes of Part VI of the Road TrafficAct 1961.

In this PolicyThe expression ‘endorsements’ meansthe endorsements We refer to bynumber in the schedule attached.‘Limits of use’ means those We referto in the relevant certificate ofinsurance. ‘Claim’ means a claim orseries of claims arising out of onecause.

EndorsementsWe refer to the endorsements whichapply by number in the schedule.

Unless We say otherwise the indexmark and registration number of anyvehicle or the name of any personappearing in the schedule against anendorsement number will be the onlyones which apply.

The exceptions, limits and conditionscontained in this Policy apply to allendorsements.

Endorsement 1: Excessa All sections:

We will not pay the first amountshown in the schedule against thisendorsement number for anyclaim We will cover under anysection of this Policy.

b Accidental damage only:We will not pay the first amountshown in the schedule against thisendorsement number for anyclaim for loss or damage to anyvehicle referred to in the‘Description of vehicles’ unless the

loss or damage is caused by fire,self-ignition, lightning or explosionor by theft or attempted theft.

c Fire and theft only:We will not pay the first amountshown in the schedule against thisendorsement number for anyclaim caused by fire, self-ignition,lightning or explosion or by theftor attempted theft.

You must pay any Excess whichapplies under this Policy.

Endorsement 2: Third party onlySection 1 (Loss or damage), Section 3(If You are injured) and Section 4(Medical expenses) of this Policy donot apply.

Endorsement 3: Third party fireand theftWe will have no liability under Section I (Loss or damage) of thisPolicy except for loss or damagecaused by fire, self-ignition, lightningor explosion or by theft or attemptedtheft. Section 3: Medical expenses ofthis Policy does not apply.

Endorsement 4: Accidentaldamage fire and theft onlyWe will not be liable under this Policyexcept under Section I (Loss ordamage).

Endorsement 5: Fire and theft onlyWe will not be liable under this Policyexcept under Section I (Loss ordamage) other than loss or damage

Endorsement 6: Open drivingThe section of this Policy ‘Descriptionof drivers’ will include any person,other than You, who is driving withYour permission.

Endorsement 7: Open driving 25to 70 yearsThe section of this Policy ‘Descriptionof drivers’ will include any person,who is driving with Your permission aslong as they have reached their 25thbirthday but are no older than 70.

Endorsement 8: Open driving 25to 70 full licenceThe section of this Policy ‘Descriptionof drivers’ will include any person whohas reached 25 but is not older than70 who is driving with Yourpermission as long as they hold orhave held a licence (other than aprovisional licence) to drive.

Endorsement 9: Named peopleonly drivingThe section ‘Driving an insuredvehicle‘ of Section 2 (Liability toothers) will apply only to any personnamed in the relevant certificate ofinsurance.

Endorsement 10: Excluding namedpeople only drivingThis Policy will not apply while anyvehicle insured is being driven by, oris for the purpose of being driven by

them, in the charge of any personnamed in the relevant certificate ofinsurance.

Endorsement 11: Insured onlydrivingThe section ‘Driving an insuredvehicle’ of Section 2 (Liability toothers) and paragraph (c) of the’Description of drivers’ section of thisPolicy do not apply.

Endorsement 12: InsurancesuspendedWe have suspended all insuranceunder this Policy.

Endorsement 13: Moving someoneelse’s vehiclesThe cover under Section 2 (Liability toothers) of this Policy will apply for anymotor vehicle (other than a vehiclepowered by steam) You do not own orhave not hired or borrowed whilebeing moved without permission asthough the vehicle were in the‘Description of vehicles’. However,this only applies if: a the vehicle is being moved or, is

for the purpose of being moved bythem, in the charge of a personYou employ under a contract; and

b the vehicle is being moved for apurpose connected with Yourbusiness.

Endorsement 14: Interest of ownera The cover under this Policy will

also apply to the vehicle referredto in the schedule against thisendorsement number.

b We will cover the person named inthe schedule against thisendorsement number as owneragainst loss or damage insured bySection I (if the section applies)and liability under Section 2arising in connection with thevehicle because of Yournegligence or of any persondriving with Your permission.

Any person driving with Yourpermission must keep to all conditionsof this Policy as far as they can apply.

Endorsement 15: Indemnity toemployerUnder Section 2 (Liability to ThirdParties) of this Policy We will coverYour employer, named in the scheduleagainst the relevant endorsementnumber, if You have an accident in avehicle We cover (other than a vehicleYour employer owns) while onbusiness for that employer.

However, this only applies if:1 Your employer is not entitled to

cover under any other Policy; and2 Your employer keeps to the

exceptions and conditions of thisPolicy in so far as they can apply.The exceptions of death or ofbodily injury to any person arisingout of the employment of thatperson will not apply to You if Youdo not come under the scope ofthe Social Welfare (OccupationalInjuries) Act 1966.

Endorsement 16: Deletingsubsection ‘If You drive othervehicles’This subsection ’If You drive othervehicles’ of Section 2 (Liability to ThirdParties) of this Policy does not apply.

Endorsement 17: Changing thebenefitsThe subsection ‘If You drive othervehicles’ of Section 2: Liability toThird Parties of this Policy does notapply. Paragraph A of the ‘Descriptionof drivers’ also does not apply.

Endorsement 18: PassengernegligenceIf You ask, We will cover anypassengers being carried in or on orgetting into or out of any vehiclereferred to in the ‘Description ofvehicles’ as long as the passenger:a is not entitled to cover under any

other Policy;b is not driving the vehicle or in

charge of it for the purpose ofdriving; and

c adheres to the conditions of thisPolicy in as far as they can apply.

However, We will not cover thepassenger against damage toproperty You own or hold in trust orby any person in the vehicle or beingcarried by the vehicle for causing thedeath of or bodily injury to:1 You;2 any person driving the vehicle or

in charge of it for the purpose ofdriving; or

3 any person employed by thepassenger if the death or bodilyinjury arises out of and in thecourse of their employment.

Endorsement 19: Personal EffectsFor loss or damage to personal effectswhile in or on any vehicle referred toin the ‘Description of vehicles’ by fireor theft (or attempted theft) or by anyaccident, We will cover You or, if Youask, any other person who may ownthe property which is lost ordamaged.

However:1 We will not pay more than the

amount shown in the scheduleagainst this endorsement numberfor any one event;

2 We will pay compensation to anyperson, other than You, direct tothat person as long as they keepto the exceptions and conditionsof this Policy in so far as they canapply and We will have no furtherliability for the event; and

3 We will not be liable for thefollowing:a Loss of or damage to goods or

samples carried in connectionwith any trade or business.

b Loss or damage arisingelsewhere than in the Republicof Ireland, Northern Ireland,Great Britain, the Isle of Manor the Channel Islands.

Endorsement 20: WindscreenWe will cover You for damage or

destruction caused during the periodof insurance if any glass in thewindscreen or windows of the insuredvehicle is broken as a result of anycause not involving other damage tothe insured vehicle.

We will choose to repair or replaceany damaged windscreen as long asthis does not cost more than theamount shown in the schedule. Youmust report any damage to Yourwindscreen to Us on the AIGWindscreen Claims Line on 01-8599899. We will not treat anypayment made under thisendorsement as a claim for thepurposes of Section 7 (No-claimsdiscount) and any Excess shown in theschedule will not apply for any claimmade under this extension in cover.

Endorsement 21: DeclarationYou must give Us a declarationcontaining details of all the vehiclesadded to or taken from the‘Description of vehicles’ during theperiod immediately before the dateYou make the declaration. For thepurpose of this endorsement, thedeclaration dates will be as shown inthe schedule against this endorsementnumber. You must then pay Us anextra premium, or receive from Usany refund as the case may be.

Endorsement 22: Deleting the no-claims discountSection 7 (No-claims discount) of thisPolicy does not apply.

Endorsement 23: Deleting theExcess on endorsement 19 and20 (if these apply)Endorsement 1 (Excess) will not applyto any claim made under theextensions in cover granted byendorsements numbered 19 and 20of this Policy.

Endorsement 24: Third party fireand theft for drivers under 25years of ageWe will not be liable under Section I(Loss or damage) of this Policy forloss of or damage other than by fire,self-ignition, lightning or explosion orby theft or attempted theft while thevehicle is being driven by, or is forthe purpose of being driven by them,in the charge of any person under 25years of age.

Endorsement 25: Third party fireand theft for drivers holding aprovisional licenceWe will not be liable under Section I(Loss or damage) of this Policy forloss of or damage other than by fire,self-ignition, lightning or explosion orby theft or attempted theft while thevehicle is being driven by, or is forthe purpose of being driven by them,in the charge of any person whoholds a provisional licence.

Endorsement 26: Cross liabilitiesIf the term ‘You’ includes more thanone person, We will cover eachperson separately.

Endorsement 30: Protected no-

claims discountAs long as You do not make morethan two claims (other than awindscreen claim as defined inendorsement 20) during any threeperiods of insurance in a row, Wewill not reduce Your no-claimdiscount when You renew this Policy.

Endorsement 32: Extendingterritorial limitsWe will extend the cover under thisPolicy (as well as in Section 6, Useabroad) to cover using any vehiclereferred to in the ‘Description ofvehicles’ for not more than 31 daysin a row in any country which is amember of the European EconomicCommunity and any other country forwhich the commission of theEuropean Economic Community issatisfied that arrangements havebeen made to meet the requirementsof Article 7 (2) of the EEC Directiveon insuring civil liabilities arisingfrom using motor vehicles (No.72/166/EEC ).

Endorsement 33: Detached trailercover – specified trailersWe cover You for any trailer whichYou have given Us full details of (andWe have accepted) under Section 2(Liability to others) as though thetrailer were a vehicle referred to inthe ‘Description of vehicles’. Theinsurance will not apply if You arepulling more trailers than areallowed by law.

Endorsement 35: Automatic RTAcover for private cars – detachedtrailersDepending on the limits, exceptionsand conditions of the Policy andcertificate of insurance, this Policycovers liability under the Road TrafficAct of any person insured by this Policyfor any detached single-axle trailer (upto a half-tonne in unladen weight).However, We will not cover caravans,mobile homes, trailer tents, boattrailers, and any trailer which includesmachinery or other equipment. In allother cases We will provide cover onlywhen trailers are shown in the scheduleand You have paid the appropriateextra premium.

Endorsement 41: Temporaryreplacement vehicleIf the insured vehicle is out of use as aresult of a claim for loss or damageinsured under this Policy We will coverYou for any hiring charges You have topay in getting a temporary replacementcar from our recognised list of currentapproved repairers.We will automatically insure thetemporary replacement car supplied bythe approved repairer while You hire it,depending on the conditions andexceptions of this Policy.

Under this endorsement We will not paymore than €200 for any one event. Thiswill not apply where the only damage isbroken glass in the windscreen orwindows of the insured vehicle.

Endorsement 44: New-carreplacementWe will replace Your car with a newcar of the same make and model (ifone is available) if within 12 monthsof buying it new, and as long as it hastravelled no more than 20,000kilometres, it is:1 damaged within the meaning of

Our Policy cover to more than 50% of the manufacturer’s lastpublished list price (including VAT);or

2 stolen and not recovered within 28days of the loss being reported tous.

However:a the car must be owned by You or

being bought under a hire-purchase agreement (but not anycar which is under a leasingagreement or contract-hireagreement); and

b We need the agreement of anyinterested hire-purchase company.

Endorsement 45: Third partyproperty damage limitUnder Section 2 – Liability to others,We will not pay more than€30,000,000 for injury to property asa result of any one act or any series ofacts making up one event.

Endorsement 46: Protected no-claims discount (fire and theft)As long as You do not make morethan two claims one claim (other thana windscreen claim as defined inendorsement 20 or a fire or theft

claim) during any three periods ofinsurance in a row, We will not reduceYour no-claims discount when Yourenew this Policy.

Endorsement 47: Golf EquipmentProvided the Insured is a fully paidmember of the Golfing Union ofIreland at the time of loss or damage,We will indemnify the Insured inrespect of loss of or damage to golfequipment, which occurs while thegolf equipment is in the locked boot ofthe Insured Vehicle. The Insurer’sliability in respect of such loss ordamage (not involving other damageto the insured vehicle) shall not exceedthe market value of the golfequipment immediately prior to theloss or damage, or €2,000, whicheveris the lesser. Any claims in respect ofsuch loss or damage shall not affectthe No Claim Discount and any Excessstated in the schedule shall not applyto this cover.

Endorsement 48: Breakdown AssistSection 9 (Optional Extras -Breakdown Assist) of this Policyapplies.

Endorsement 49: Identity TheftSection 9 (Optional Extras - IdentityTheft) of this Policy applies.

Endorsement 50: Windscreen(third party fire and theft)We will cover You for damage ordestruction caused during the periodof insurance if any glass in thewindscreen or windows of the insured

vehicle is broken as a result of anycause not involving otherdamage to the insured vehicle (apartform scratching of surroundingbodywork).

We will choose to repair or replaceany damaged windscreen as long asthis does not cost more thanthe amount shown in the schedule.You must report any damage to Yourwindscreen to Us on the AIGWindscreen Claims Line on 1850200552. We will not treat anypayment made under thisendorsement as a claim for thepurposes of Section 7 (no-claimsdiscount) and any Excess shown in theschedule will not apply for any claimmade under this extension in cover.

Endorsement 51: Voluntary Excessa All sections:

In addition to the amount shown inEndorsement 1 We will not pay thefirst amount shown in the scheduleagainst this endorsement numberfor any claim We will cover underany section of this Policy.

domestic and pleasure purposesand in connection with Yourbusiness or profession, and if itneeds to be overhauled orrepaired.

We will not cover:(a)Use for hire or reward, racing,

pace making, speed testing,reliability trial, commercialtravelling or the carriage ofgoods or samples in connectionwith any trade or business;
