PME Skills Programme Project Management 4 days 1 Overview Faculty Training Institute (FTI) is accredited by the Services SETA to deliver the Project Management Essentials Skills Programme. | SAQA Unit Standards: 243824 & 15224 | NQF Level: 5 | Credits: 12 You will attend two 2-day training sessions with a month’s interval in-between. Once the four training sessions are complete you will have two half-day Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) feedback sessions (making up 36 contact hours). You will have two months to complete a PoE. The Project Management Essentials (PME) Skills Programme will introduce you to the fundamental principles and techniques of Project Management. This engaging and interactive Skills Programme is designed to give you simple and effective tools to plan, control and organise different types of business projects. Who should attend? This programme is aimed primarily at entry level Project Managers and Project Co-ordinators needing theoretical and practical Project Management skills. It is most relevant to Line Managers who need to be more effective in delivering change, meeting deadlines and managing groups using a project management approach. Entry Requirements You will need: | A Grade 12 Certificate | Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4, or equivalent | Communication at NQF Level 4, or equivalent | Computer Literacy at NQF Level 3, or equivalent | To be working in or with Project Management teams or using a project approach to your work. These projects can be technical, business, public sector or community development type projects, across a range of economic sectors. Course Delivery & Assessment We use a blend of face-to-face, facilitator-led training sessions as well as group discussions, practical exercises and feedback sessions, to embed knowledge and skills. You will need to: | Attend all four days and both PoE feedback sessions | Participate in and contribute to group discussions and activities | Practice a range of project management techniques and simulations to be able to apply them in the workplace | Do some individual reading and self-study | Complete workplace assignments and submit for formal assessment | Compile, submit and be found competent on a PoE | If found competent you will receive two South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) unit standards: ‘Develop an integrated Project Management plan for a simple to moderately complex project’ and ‘Empower team members through recognising strengths, encouraging participation in decision making and delegating tasks’ No matter how good the team or how efficient the methodology, if we’re not solving the right problem, the project fails.
