Understanding the IssuesWhen a well is fi rst brought onto producti on gas and liquids fl ow to the surface freely, however stabilized fl ow rarely lasts for long. Liquid accumulates along the walls of the tubing and falls back down collecti ng at the bott om of the well. This begins a process that can mean the beginning of the end of strong producti on. As liquid fall back conti nues, slugs of fl uid are periodically produced. As these slugs travel to the surface as much as 75% of the liquid slug may fall back into the well. As more fl uids collect the fl ow slows even further.

Now slug sizes increase, the problem feeds on itself and there’s even more fallback. The more fl uids that accumulate down hole, the more the producti on fl ow slows. Without interventi on the fl uid column will become too heavy to lift and no gas passes through. The well stops producing.

Oil and GasFinding the Right Soluti onPlunger Lift technology is an eff ecti ve and effi cient technique of increasing and opti mizing oil and gas wells which have marginal fl ow trends. The Plunger Lift System harnesses the ability of a mechanical plunger to act as a sealing interface between the formati on gas and the produced well bore liquids. Creati ng a turbulent seal between the gas and liquids and uti lizing the well’s own energy for lift ing, liquids are pushed to surface virtually eradicati ng liquid fall back while reducing the average fl owing bott om hole pressure increases infl ow.

The system is comprised of a well specifi c plunger, a bott om hole bumper spring, a specialized lubricator and catcher assembly, our electronic Navigator Pro™ controller, a motor valve and an arrival sensor. Oil and GasBott om Hole Bumper SpringsNOV Monofl o Oil and Gas bott omhole bumper spring assemblies are designed to absorb the impact of the plunger when it reaches the bott om of the well. Various seati ng assemblies can be used (e.g.: hold down, seal stop, tubing stop, collar stop) depending on the applicati on. We off er bumper springs in various sizes and materials suitable for use in sweet and sour service environments. All of our bumper springs are designed for maximum fl ow area without compromising strength. A ball and seat can also be used to retain liquids in the tubing string.

LubricatorsNOV Monofl o Oil and Gas lubricators are spring-loaded receivers designed to cushion the arrival of the plunger at the surface. The lubricator has a catcher designed to catch the plunger upon arrival which will allow the operator to retrieve and inspect the plunger. ControllersNOV Monofl o Oil and Gas provides a complete range of electronic self-opti mizing controllers for plunger lift applicati ons. The Navigator Pro™ controller system can be confi gured as a simple well intermitt er or set up to perform ti me or pressure based opti mizati on.

• SCADA Interface — Industry standard interface allows connecti vity with existi ng SCADA capable equipment. The controller allows remote access to all commands available from the front panel. RS-45 Modbus available.

• Rugged — Navigator Pro™ is designed and tested to handle the harshest environments while drawing as litt le power as possible.

• Reliable — Designed for harsh winters, the Navigator Pro ™ will run for more than 21 days without solar power. It can also handle locati ons know for their high temperatures (up to +85°C). The display operates over the enti re temperature range.
