Restaurant with private dining facilities, art gallery, whisky tasting room and outdoor patio area. The premises are located on the ground floor, adjacent to other restaurant/bar premises with residential accommodation above and offices to the south-west. M Describe the steps you intend to take to promote the four licensing objectives:

a) General – all four licensing objectives (b, c, d and e) (please read guidance note 9) 1. All staff employed in the sale of alcohol shall be trained in respect of the law relating to the

sale of alcohol, the company’s proof of age policy and the procedure on handling and recording refusals. Training must be documented and details made available upon request by an authorised officer of the police or licensing authority.

2. An operational policy shall be adopted detailing the responsibility of all staff. This will include

the procedure for dealing with rowdy/inconsiderate behaviour, an ejection/removal procedure and the implementation of the dispersal policy. Where possible, this policy should be produce in co-operation with other licensed premises in the immediate area so as to manage any possible cumulative impact. A copy of this policy shall be maintained for inspection at the premises and a copy provided to the St George’s Wharf Residents Association within 14 days of its adoption. Any significant amendments to the policy will be notified to St George’s Wharf Residents Association within 14 days of the amendment being adopted.

3. A log will be kept where a sale of alcohol is refused to any customer or any incidents of

public nuisance/anti-social behaviour, crime or disorder that may occur. This log will be kept available for inspection at the premises unless removed for the purposes of duplication. Any incidents shall be reviewed and signed by the Designated Premises Supervisor or Restaurant Manager as soon as is practicable after the record has been made. The log shall also be reviewed at least every six months to establish if there are any patterns of incident or regular issues that need attention. Feedback and action plan(s) shall be undertaken by the DPS and communicated to all staff members to address or mitigate these issues from recurring. The records shall be made available upon request to all Local Authority Officers with delegated authority in respect of enforcing the Licensing Act 2003

4. No off-sale of alcohol in an open container shall be made from the premises.

5. Management/staff shall robustly monitor alcohol consumption and promote responsible

drinking at all times. The sale of alcohol shall be prohibited/restricted where deemed necessary to ensure customers do not become inebriated.

6. Management/staff shall proactively monitor the conduct and behaviour of patrons to the

external tables & chairs area. Engagement to ensue where customers are deemed to be shouting or engaging in rowdy, anti-social behaviour to the detriment of residents within the vicinity. Those person(s) shall be asked to cease this activity and/or disperse from the premises quietly and efficiently.

7. Off-sales of alcohol shall comprise solely of spirits, such as whiskey and bourbon.

b) The prevention of crime and disorder

8. A refusal log will be kept and made available to Police on request

9. A CCTV system covering areas inside and directly outside of the premises should be updated and maintained according to police recommendations with properly maintained log arrangements and recordings/tapes to be kept for a minimum of 30 days.

10. The CCTV system is to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and must be working

and recording correctly when the venue is open to the public.

11. Daily checks of the CCTV system are to be completed and all details written into a log/ diary.

12. A staff member from the venue who is conversant with the operation of the CCTV system

must be on the premises at all times that the venue is open to the public for a licensable activity. This staff member must immediately be able to show police or local authority officer’s contemporaneous and recent data or footage on request.

13. The Premises are to use all reasonable efforts to provide police and local authority officers

with recordings from the CCTV system on request (e.g. by supplying recordings on DVD,

CD, tape etc and any software needed to play the footage if necessary)

14. No customers shall be allowed to leave the premises whilst carrying open drinking vessels.

c) Public safetyAll public safety matters are dealt with through existing legislation, in particular Health and Safety at Work Act etc. 1974 and subordinate regulations, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Equality Act 2010.

d) The prevention of public nuisance15. The premises shall prominently display signage informing customers: -

a. To leave quietly and to respect neighbours.b. Stating that CCTV is in operation and police have instant access to the footage.

16. A suitable automatic sound limiting device and graphic equalizer shall be installed in thepremises to control all amplified music, speech and vocals. The acceptable level of noiseshall be determined and set to Officer’s specifications and thereafter maintained at theapproved level for the duration of use.

17. No bass subwoofers shall be used on the premises, to safeguard the amenities of theadjoining residential properties.

18. All tables and chairs within the premises to remain in-situ at all times but may bechanged/altered and moved around as and when required.

19. At all times whilst the external area is in use, there shall be a full complement of tables andchairs within the external area (as per the designated plan submitted with the application).

20. There shall be no loudspeakers placed out in the external tables & chairs area.

21. A minimum of two SIA staff shall be engaged to monitor the exterior of the premises whilstthey are in use from 18:00 on Monday to Saturday inclusive and from midday on Sunday,until 30 minutes after all customers have left the premises. During these hours, thenumbers of customers shall be monitored by use of a tally device by persons who areengaged specifically for that purpose.

22. A door supervisor shall be engaged at the VIP entrance from 18:00 until the time that allcustomers have left the premises. The door supervisor will be instructed to encouragevehicles that arrive near this entrance not to loiter.

23. Short-term access will be provided to the car park for vehicles waiting to collect customersfrom the VIP entrance.

24. The maximum number of customers in the external area of the premises shall not exceed100 persons. Where the number of customers in the external area exceeds 70, amarshal shall be designated and instructed to patrol the area.

25. Access to the external area by customers shall be restricted to a route that leads via theinternal area and the doors that open into the external dining area. The external area willbe bounded by an effective barrier to prevent public access, of at least 1m height.

26. Bookings for groups in excess of 40 customers will not be accepted.

27. No eating or drinking by customers shall be permitted in the external area of the premisesafter 22:30 on any day, by which time the area will be cleared. Service to the external areawill cease by 22:00 each day.

28. Tables and chairs shall not be permitted to be re-arranged in the external area of thepremises so as to have the effect of forming one table for more than 20 customers at onetime.

29. Except for the Whiskey Lounge/Room, alcohol shall only be served to those personsseated at tables & chairs or at the bar, who are partaking of a substantial table meal. The

supply of alcohol to such persons shall be by waitress/waiter service only and shall be ancillary to the consumption of that meal.

30. There shall be no vertical drinking within the external area of the premises.

31. From 22:30hrs Monday to Sunday, the external area of the premises shall be thedesignated smoking area. The following restrictions shall apply: -

(a) Patrons shall be prohibited from taking their drinks outside with them and;(b) Staff shall ensure that patrons smoking in this area do so in an orderly

manner and are proactively monitored so as to ensure no undue noise orpublic nuisance issues.

32. A robust dispersal policy shall be adopted to ensure all patrons leave the premises andvicinity as quietly and speedily as possible. Ensure that patrons are verbally advised bymanagement/staff upon leaving to be mindful of the neighbouring residents so as not todisturb the peace.

33. Routine litter picks shall be undertaken to the external perimeters of the site building (andat closing time) to remove all discarded litter, drinking vessels, food waste/packaging andcigarette butts arising from the use of the premises.

34. There shall be no external emptying of bottle banks between the hours of 22:00 –08:00hrs Monday to Sunday. Deliveries will be instructed to arrive only between the hoursof 08:00 to 18:00. Trolleys used for the transport of stock or waste outside of thepremises will be fitted with pneumatic tyres.

35. Signage shall be displayed at public exits, seeking that customers respect the need not todisturb neighbours when leaving.

36. Signage will be displayed at the exterior of the premises with a telephone number forresidents to contact in the unlikely event that they are disturbed. This number shall bemanned whilst the premises are undertaking licensable activities.

37. A monitored telephone number shall be provided to local residents who request it and shallbe clearly displayed on the exterior of the premises so that contact can be made remotelywith staff at the premises in the event that a neighbour is disturbed by a licensable activity.

e) The protection of children from harm38. There shall be no adult entertainment, services or activities at the premises.

39. The premises shall operate a challenge 25 policy to prevent any customers, who appear tostaff members to be under the age of 25 years, from purchasing alcohol without havingfirst provided identification. Forms of identification that are acceptable will include apassport, photographic driving licence or other means of identity verification as recognisedby the Licensing Authority.

40. No persons under the age of 18 shall be permitted inside the premises after 2200

M Describe the steps you intend to take to promote the four licensing objectives:

a) General – all four licensing objectives (b, c, d and e) (please read guidance note 9)1. All staff employed in the sale of alcohol shall be trained in respect of the law relating to the

sale of alcohol, the company’s proof of age policy and the procedure on handling andrecording refusals. Training must be documented and details made available upon requestby an authorised officer of the police or licensing authority.

2. An operational policy shall be adopted detailing the responsibility of all staff. This will includethe procedure for dealing with rowdy/inconsiderate behaviour, an ejection/removalprocedure and the implementation of the dispersal policy. Where possible, this policyshould be produce in co-operation with other licensed premises in the immediate area soas to manage any possible cumulative impact. A copy of this policy shall be maintained forinspection at the premises and a copy provided to the St George’s Wharf ResidentsAssociation within 14 days of its adoption. Any significant amendments to the policy will benotified to St George’s Wharf Residents Association within 14 days of the amendmentbeing adopted.

3. A log will be kept where a sale of alcohol is refused to any customer or any incidents ofpublic nuisance/anti-social behaviour, crime or disorder that may occur. This log will bekept available for inspection at the premises unless removed for the purposes ofduplication. Any incidents shall be reviewed and signed by the Designated PremisesSupervisor or Restaurant Manager as soon as is practicable after the record has beenmade. The log shall also be reviewed at least every six months to establish if there are anypatterns of incident or regular issues that need attention. Feedback and action plan(s) shallbe undertaken by the DPS and communicated to all staff members to address or mitigatethese issues from recurring. The records shall be made available upon request to all LocalAuthority Officers with delegated authority in respect of enforcing the Licensing Act 2003

4. No off-sale of alcohol in an open container shall be made from the premises.

5. Management/staff shall robustly monitor alcohol consumption and promote responsibledrinking at all times. The sale of alcohol shall be prohibited/restricted where deemednecessary to ensure customers do not become inebriated.

6. Management/staff shall proactively monitor the conduct and behaviour of patrons to theexternal tables & chairs area. Engagement to ensue where customers are deemed to beshouting or engaging in rowdy, anti-social behaviour to the detriment of residents within thevicinity. Those person(s) shall be asked to cease this activity and/or disperse from thepremises quietly and efficiently.

7. Off-sales of alcohol shall comprise solely of spirits, such as whiskey and bourbon.

b) The prevention of crime and disorder

9. A CCTV system covering areas inside and directly outside of the premises should beupdated and maintained according to police recommendations with properly maintainedlog arrangements and recordings/tapes to be kept for a minimum of 30 days.

10. The CCTV system is to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and must be workingand recording correctly when the venue is open to the public.

11. Daily checks of the CCTV system are to be completed and all details written into a log/diary.

12. A staff member from the venue who is conversant with the operation of the CCTV systemmust be on the premises at all times that the venue is open to the public for a licensableactivity. This staff member must immediately be able to show police or local authorityofficer’s contemporaneous and recent data or footage on request.

13. The Premises are to use all reasonable efforts to provide police and local authority officerswith recordings from the CCTV system on request (e.g. by supplying recordings on DVD,CD, tape etc and any software needed to play the footage if necessary)

14. No customers shall be allowed to leave the premises whilst carrying open drinking vessels,including through the main entrance or the VIP access.

c) Public safety

All public safety matters are dealt with through existing legislation, in particular Health and Safety at Work Act etc. 1974 and subordinate regulations, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Equality Act 2010.

d) The prevention of public nuisance

15. The premises shall prominently display signage informing customers: -a. To leave quietly and to respect neighbours.b. Stating that CCTV is in operation and police have instant access to the footage.

16. A suitable automatic sound limiting device and graphic equalizer shall be installed in thepremises to control all amplified music, speech and vocals. The acceptable level of noiseshall be determined and set to Officer’s specifications and thereafter maintained at theapproved level for the duration of use.

17. No bass subwoofers shall be used on the premises, to safeguard the amenities of theadjoining residential properties.

18. All tables and chairs within the premises to remain in-situ at all times but may bechanged/altered and moved around as and when required.

19. At all times whilst the external area is in use, there shall be a full complement of tables andchairs within the external area (as per the designated plan submitted with the application).

20. There shall be no loudspeakers placed out in the external tables & chairs area.

21. A minimum of two SIA staff shall be engaged to monitor the exterior of the premises whilstthey are in use from 18:00 on Monday to Saturday inclusive and from midday on Sunday,until 30 minutes after all customers have left the premises. During these hours, thenumbers of customers shall be monitored by use of a tally device by persons who areengaged specifically for that purpose.

22. A door supervisor shall be engaged at the VIP entrance from 18:00 until the time that allcustomers have left the premises. The door supervisor will be instructed to encouragevehicles that arrive near this entrance not to loiter.

23. Short-term access will be provided to the car park for vehicles waiting to collect customersfrom the VIP entrance.

24. The maximum number of customers in the external area of the premises shall not exceed100 persons. Where the number of customers in the external area exceeds 70, amarshal shall be designated and instructed to patrol the area.

25. Access to the external area by customers shall be restricted to a route that leads via theinternal area and the doors that open into the external dining area. The external area willbe bounded by an effective barrier to prevent public access, of at least 1m height.

26. Bookings for groups in excess of 40 customers will not be accepted.

27. No eating or drinking by customers shall be permitted in the external area of the premisesafter 22:30 on any day, by which time the area will be cleared. Service to the external areawill cease by 22:00 each day.

28. Tables and chairs shall not be permitted to be re-arranged in the external area of thepremises so as to have the effect of forming one table for more than 20 customers at onetime.

29. Except for the Whiskey Lounge/Room, alcohol shall only be served to those personsseated at tables & chairs or at the bar, who are partaking of a substantial table meal. Thesupply of alcohol to such persons shall be by waitress/waiter service only and shall beancillary to the consumption of that meal

30. Substantial food and non-intoxicating beverages shall be available in all parts of thepremises where alcohol is sold or supplied for consumption on the premises.

31. There shall be no vertical drinking within the external area of the premises.

32. Patrons temporarily leaving the premises to smoke shall be prohibited from taking theirdrinks with them.

33. From 22:30hrs Monday to Sunday, the external area of the premises shall be thedesignated smoking area. The following restrictions shall apply: -

(a) Patrons shall be prohibited from taking their drinks outside with them and;(b) Staff shall ensure that patrons smoking in this area do so in an orderly

manner and are proactively monitored so as to ensure no undue noise orpublic nuisance issues.

(c) No more than 15 persons will be permitted to smoke in the outside area after22:30

34. A robust dispersal policy shall be adopted to ensure all patrons leave the premises andvicinity as quietly and speedily as possible. Ensure that patrons are verbally advised bymanagement/staff upon leaving to be mindful of the neighbouring residents so as not todisturb the peace.

35. Routine litter picks shall be undertaken to the external perimeters of the site building (andat closing time) to remove all discarded litter, drinking vessels, food waste/packaging andcigarette butts arising from the use of the premises.

36. There shall be no external emptying of bottle banks between the hours of 22:00 –08:00hrs Monday to Sunday. Deliveries will be instructed to arrive only between the hoursof 08:00 to 18:00. Trolleys used for the transport of stock or waste outside of thepremises will be fitted with pneumatic tyres.

37. Signage shall be displayed at public exits, seeking that customers respect the need not todisturb neighbours when leaving.

38. Signage will be displayed at the exterior of the premises with a telephone number forresidents to contact in the unlikely event that they are disturbed. This number shall bemanned whilst the premises are undertaking licensable activities.

39. A monitored telephone number shall be provided to local residents who request it and shallbe clearly displayed on the exterior of the premises so that contact can be made remotelywith staff at the premises in the event that a neighbour is disturbed by a licensable activity.

e) The protection of children from harm40. There shall be no adult entertainment, services or activities at the premises.

41. The premises shall operate a challenge 25 policy to prevent any customers, who appear tostaff members to be under the age of 25 years, from purchasing alcohol without havingfirst provided identification. Forms of identification that are acceptable will include apassport, photographic driving licence or other means of identity verification as recognisedby the Licensing Authority.

42. No persons under the age of 18 shall be permitted inside the premises after 2200

M Describe the steps you intend to take to promote the four licensing objectives:

a) General – all four licensing objectives (b, c, d and e) (please read guidance note10)1. All staff employed in the sale of alcohol shall be trained in respect of the law

relating to the sale of alcohol, the company’s proof of age policy and theprocedure on handling and recording refusals. Training must bedocumented and details made available upon request by an authorisedofficer of the police or licensing authority.

2. An operational policy shall be adopted detailing the responsibility of all staff.This will include the procedure for dealing with rowdy/inconsideratebehaviour, an ejection/removal procedure and the implementation of thedispersal policy. Where possible, this policy should be produce in co-operation with other licensed premises in the immediate area so as tomanage any possible cumulative impact. A copy of this policy shall bemaintained for inspection at the premises and a copy provided to the StGeorge’s Wharf Residents Association within 14 days of its adoption. Anysignificant amendments to the policy will be notified to St George’s WharfResidents Association within 14 days of the amendment being adopted.

3. A log will be kept where a sale of alcohol is refused to any customer or anyincidents of public nuisance/anti-social behaviour, crime or disorder thatmay occur. This log will be kept available for inspection at the premisesunless removed for the purposes of duplication. Any incidents shall bereviewed and signed by the Designated Premises Supervisor or RestaurantManager as soon as is practicable after the record has been made. The logshall also be reviewed at least every six months to establish if there are anypatterns of incident or regular issues that need attention. Feedback andaction plan(s) shall be undertaken by the DPS and communicated to all staffmembers to address or mitigate these issues from recurring. The recordsshall be made available upon request to all Local Authority Officers withdelegated authority in respect of enforcing the Licensing Act 2003

4. No off-sale of alcohol in an open container shall be made from the premises.

5. Management/staff shall robustly monitor alcohol consumption and promoteresponsible drinking at all times. The sale of alcohol shall beprohibited/restricted where deemed necessary to ensure customers donot become inebriated.

6. Management/staff shall proactively monitor the conduct and behaviour ofpatrons to the external tables & chairs area. Engagement to ensue wherecustomers are deemed to be shouting or engaging in rowdy, anti-socialbehaviour to the detriment of residents within the vicinity. Those person(s)shall be asked to cease this activity and/or disperse from the premisesquietly and efficiently.

b) The prevention of crime and disorder7. A refusal log will be kept and made available to Police on request

8. A CCTV system covering areas inside and directly outside of the premisesshould be updated and maintained according to police recommendationswith properly maintained log arrangements and recordings/tapes to bekept for a minimum of 30 days.

9. The CCTV system is to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and mustbe working and recording correctly when the venue is open to the public.

10. Daily checks of the CCTV system are to be completed and all details writteninto a log/ diary.

11. A staff member from the venue who is conversant with the operation of theCCTV system must be on the premises at all times that the venue is open tothe public for a licensable activity. This staff member must immediately beable to show police or local authority officer’s contemporaneous and recentdata or footage on request.

12. The Premises are to use all reasonable efforts to provide police and localauthority officers with recordings from the CCTV system on request (e.g. bysupplying recordings on DVD, CD, tape etc and any software needed to playthe footage if necessary)

13. No customers shall be allowed to leave the premises whilst carrying opendrinking vessels.

c) Public safetyAll public safety matters are dealt with through existing legislation, in particular Health and Safety at Work Act etc. 1974 and subordinate regulations, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Equality Act 2010.

d) The prevention of public nuisance14. The premises shall prominently display signage informing customers: -

a. To leave quietly and to respect neighbours.b. Stating that CCTV is in operation and police have instant access to thefootage.

15. A suitable automatic sound limiting device and graphic equalizer shall beinstalled in the premises to control all amplified music, speech and vocals.The acceptable level of noise shall be determined and set to Officer’sspecifications and thereafter maintained at the approved level for theduration of use.

16. No bass subwoofers shall be used on the premises, to safeguard theamenities of the adjoining residential properties.

17. The provision of Live Music shall be limited to the private dining areas indicated on the approved plan as ‘VIP’ rooms. The sound insulation to these rooms shall be maintained at the existing or better standard at any time when live music is undertaken.

18. All tables and chairs within the premises to remain in-situ at all times but can be changed/altered and moved around as and when required.

19. At all times whilst the external area is in use, there shall be a full complement of tables and chairs within the external area (as per the designated plan submitted with the application).

20. There shall be no speakers placed out in the external tables & chairs area.

21. A minimum of two SIA staff shall be engaged to monitor the exterior of the premises whilst they are in use on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 18:00 until the time that all customers have left the premises. During these hours, the numbers of customers shall be monitored by use of a tally device by persons who are engaged specifically for that purpose.

22. The maximum number of customers in the external area of the premises shall not exceed 150 persons

23. Bookings for groups in excess of 40 customers will not be accepted.

24. No eating or drinking by customers shall be permitted in the external area of the premises after 22:30 on any day.

25. Tables and chairs shall not be permitted to be re-arranged in the external area of the premises so as to have the effect of forming one table for more than 20 customers at one time.

26. Except for the mezzanine area of the premises and the private dining rooms, alcohol shall only be served to those persons seated at tables & chairs who are partaking of a substantial table meal. The supply of alcohol to such persons shall be by waitress/waiter service only and shall be ancillary to the consumption of that meal.

27. There shall be no vertical drinking within the external area of the premises.

28. From 22:30hrs Monday to Sunday, the external area of the premises shall be the designated smoking area. The following restrictions shall apply: - (a) Patrons shall be prohibited from taking their drinks outside with them and; (b) Staff shall ensure that patrons smoking in this area do so in an orderly manner and are proactively monitored so as to ensure no undue noise or public nuisance issues.

29. A robust dispersal policy shall be adopted from 23:00hrs to ensure all patrons leave the premises and vicinity as quietly and speedily as possible. Ensure that patrons are verbally advised by management/staff upon leaving to be mindful of the neighbouring residents so as not to disturb the peace.

30. Routine litter picks shall be undertaken to the external perimeters of the site

building (and at closing time) to remove all discarded litter, drinking vessels, food waste/packaging and cigarette butts arising from the use of the premises.

31. There shall be no external emptying of bottle banks between the hours of 23:00 – 08:00hrs Monday to Sunday.

32. Signage shall be displayed at public exits, seeking that customers respect the need not to disturb neighbours when leaving.

33. Signage will be displayed at the exterior of the premises with a telephone number for residents to contact in the unlikely event that they are disturbed. This number shall be manned whilst the premises are undertaking licensable activities.

34. A monitored telephone number shall be provided to local residents who request it and shall be clearly displayed on the exterior of the premises so that contact can be made remotely with staff at the premises in the event that a neighbour is disturbed by a licensable activity.

e) The protection of children from harm 35. There shall be no adult entertainment, services or activities at the premises

36. The premises shall operate a challenge 25 policy to prevent any customers, who appear to staff members to be under the age of 25 years, from purchasing alcohol without having first provided identification. Forms of identification that are acceptable will include a passport, photographic driving licence or other means of identity verification as recognised by the Licensing Authority

37. No persons under the age of 18 shall be permitted inside the premises after 2200

Notes for Guidance

1. Describe the premises, for example the type of premises, its general situation and layoutand any other information which could be relevant to the licensing objectives. Whereyour application includes off-supplies of alcohol and you intend to provide a place forconsumption of these off-supplies, you must include a description of where the place willbe and its proximity to the premises.

2. In terms of specific regulated entertainments please note that:• Plays: no licence is required for performances between 08:00 and 23.00 on any

day, provided that the audience does not exceed 500.• Films: no licence is required for ‘not-for-profit’ film exhibition held in

community premises between 08.00 and 23.00 on any day provided that theaudience does not exceed 500 and the organiser (a) gets consent to the screeningfrom a person who is responsible for the premises; and (b) ensures that each suchscreening abides by age classification ratings.

• Indoor sporting events: no licence is required for performances between 08.00and 23.00 on any day, provided that the audience does not exceed 1000.

• Boxing or Wrestling Entertainment: no licence is required for a contest,exhibition or display of Greco-Roman wrestling, or freestyle wrestling between08.00 and 23.00 on any day, provided that the audience does not exceed 1000.Combined fighting sports – defined as a contest, exhibition or display whichcombines boxing or wrestling with one or more martial arts – are licensable as aboxing or wrestling entertainment rather than an indoor sporting event.

• Live music: no licence permission is required for:o a performance of unamplified live music between 08.00 and 23.00 on

any day, on any premises.o a performance of amplified live music between 08.00 and 23.00 on any

day on premises authorised to sell alcohol for consumption on thosepremises, provided that the audience does not exceed 500.

o a performance of amplified live music between 08.00 and 23.00 on anyday, in a workplace that is not licensed to sell alcohol on those premises,provided that the audience does not exceed 500.

o a performance of amplified live music between 08.00 and 23.00 on anyday, in a church hall, village hall, community hall, or other similarcommunity premises, that is not licensed by a premises licence to sellalcohol, provided that (a) the audience does not exceed 500, and (b) theorganiser gets consent for the performance from a person who isresponsible for the premises.

o a performance of amplified live music between 08.00 and 23.00 on anyday, at the non-residential premises of (i) a local authority, or (ii) aschool, or (iii) a hospital, provided that (a) the audience does not exceed500, and (b) the organiser gets consent for the performance on therelevant premises from: (i) the local authority concerned, or (ii) theschool or (iii) the health care provider for the hospital.

• Recorded Music: no licence permission is required for:o any playing of recorded music between 08.00 and 23.00 on any day on

premises authorised to sell alcohol for consumption on those premises,provided that the audience does not exceed 500.

o any playing of recorded music between 08.00 and 23.00 on any day, in achurch hall, village hall, community hall, or other similar communitypremises, that is not licensed by a premises licence to sell alcohol,provided that (a) the audience does not exceed 500, and (b) the organisergets consent for the performance from a person who is responsible forthe premises.

o any playing of recorded music between 08.00 and 23.00 on any day, atthe non-residential premises of (i) a local authority, or (ii) a school, or(iii) a hospital, provided that (a) the audience does not exceed 500, and

• Dance: no licence is required for performances between 08.00 and 23.00 on anyday, provided that the audience does not exceed 500. However, a performancewhich amounts to adult entertainment remains licensable.

• Cross activity exemptions: no licence is required between 08.00 and 23.00 onany day, with no limit on audience size for:

o any entertainment taking place on the premises of the local authoritywhere the entertainment is provided by or on behalf of the localauthority;

o any entertainment taking place on the hospital premises of the healthcare provider where the entertainment is provided by or on behalf of thehealth care provider;

o any entertainment taking place on the premises of the school where theentertainment is provided by or on behalf of the school proprietor; and

o any entertainment (excluding films and a boxing or wrestlingentertainment) taking place at a travelling circus, provided that (a) ittakes place within a moveable structure that accommodates the audience,and (b) that the travelling circus has not been located on the same site formore than 28 consecutive days.

3. Where taking place in a building or other structure please tick as appropriate (indoorsmay include a tent).

4. For example the type of activity to be authorised, if not already stated, and give relevantfurther details, for example (but not exclusively) whether or not music will be amplifiedor unamplified.
