1. Build the first skilled nursing facility in the U.S. dedicated 100% to obese care.

• Prototype for nationwide expansion of BIGcare model• Designed, built, equipped, staffed and managed to care for the 65+ age group with Type ll and lll obesity

2. Create an effective, evidence-based treatment model for the obese.

• Partner with Texas Obesity Research Center to study methodologies • Help set universal standards that currently don’t exist• Establish cost reduction strategies• First opportunity of its kind to study obesity in a specialty setting

3. Research and develop specialty medical equipment and supplies for care of the obese.

• BIGcare facility will be a research center to improve existing designs and develop new products that are currently unavailable

• Protect patients and staff from injury and significantly reduce care delivery costs• Create funding source from licensing production of new designs

4. Create the first training and certification program in the U.S. for Nurses and Nurse Assistants as Bariatric Care Specialists.

• Partner with a university nursing school to establish an educational program based on the BIGcare treatment model

• Provide medical personnel with needed skills that are transportable to any job market

5. Establish a web-based education and outreach program for caregivers, obese adults and children.

• Website will serve as an obese education and information center available free of charge nationwide

• Features include a video training course for caregivers with online certification

• Particular focus on outreach programs for children

6. Assist others with our expertise to rapidly duplicate the BIGcare model across the U.S.

• Regulatory compliance• Facility design and construction• Staff development• Treatment • Management

The first BIGcare facility will be locatednear Houston in Waller County, Texas.

The Commissioners Court has already approved 90 Medicaid beds for the project.
