PIRmax HRP PANEL is a modified PIR (Polyisocyanurate) rigid thermoset insulation laminated with 10mm plasterboard.PIRmax HRP PANEL consists of one side tapered edge gypsum based 10mm plasterboard and foil on the reverse side adhesively bonded to the PIR core. Alternative linings, such as cement sheet, can also be used upon request.

PIRmax HRP PANEL is designed to achieve excellent thermal value where minimal cavity is required giving buildings continued thermal efficiency throughout their life span. PIRmax HRP PANEL is easy to handle and allows fast fixing to any application. Fully compliant to the Australian National Construction Code.

GENERAL INSTALLATION GUIDE

Vers2.1

Masonry Wall Installation (Adhesive Method)

PIRMAX HRP Panel can be installed using a variety of methods. The construction of the wall will determine the installation method to be used.

If the adhesive bond is not satisfactorily achieved due to the surface of the wall, a mechanically fixed method should be considered.

The PIRMAX HRP Panel has a tapered edge on the plasterboard which allows a flat seamless surface equivalent to the finish of traditional plaster. To achieve this the correct jointing procedures need to be implemented as per the plasterboard manufacturer’s recommendations.

DIRECT FIXING TO MASONRY WALL

The following installation method applies to brick cavity, block, concrete and masonry walls.

1. Ensure the wall is not subject to moisture penetration, and the surface to be bonded to is free from any contaminates such as oil, grease, paint, release agent, or any contaminate that may affect the bond of the adhesive to the wall.

2. Apply an adhesive pattern (modified polymer adhesive*) to the wall or the back of the board, each daub to be approximately 25mm in diameter and height. The daubs are to be a maximum 50mm from all edges of the insulated panel, and a 450mm grid pattern thereafter (see diagram).

3. All boards need to be positioned to be both square and plumb before the adhesive begins to cure.

4. Install a minimum of 2 medium duty mechanical anchors* in the centre of the board (600mm in from top and outside edges), to act as an intermediate restraint for the panel ensuring a correct sheet position prior to the adhesive reaching full cure. (Refer to fixing manufacturer instructions for more information).

5. It may be necessary to use additional mechanical fixings to maintain uniform straightness and prevent longitudinal “bowing” in the centre of the panel.

6. Plasterboard finishing as per the plasterboard manufacturers installation guide.
