attended a three-day 3M Microfilming­Duplicating seminar held at the PhoeniciaHotel in Beirut November 28-30.

The seminar featured briefings anddemonstrations of the different types of3M microfilming and duplicating ma­chines, including processing cameras,reader printers, projectors and dry copiers.

Mr. Vartan's attendance of the seminaris in line with the company's study of thepossibility of applying the microfilmingsystem for filming engineering charts,maps, record drawings and other companydocuments which are bulky to store andretain.

Medical Director Dr. J. D. Thaddeusvisited all main stations along the 'Linein Saudi Arabia in late November todiscuss and arrange the rotational pro­gram. While on the 'Line, Dr. Thaddeusalso discussed the 1973 medical budgetand controls.

Relations Advisor Alfred S. Khaderresumed his functions Nov. 30 on com­pletion of a special assignment as Co­ordinator Employee Development.

Muhammad Khalifa, Saudi Arab Per­sonnel Advisor (Aramco) has just com­pleted a one-month rotational assignmentwith the Relations Department in Turaifas Employee Relations Advisor (Tapline).

THREE-WHEEL VEHICLEFOR PIPELINE INSPECTION

The concept of using a three-wheelvehicle that can be driven in the opendesert for above-ground pipeline inspec­tion is being experimented by the PipelineRepair Division of the Operations Depart­ment.

The vehicle is expected to save timeand manpower.

\Vhereas above-ground pipeline m­spection was being carried out by two orthree pipeline repair crew members whonormally walk along the 'Line, one crewmember is expected to conduct the sameinspection using the new vehicle.

The first experimental "ehicle to beused was a five-HP Montgomery Wardthree-wheeler. Operations Departmentexperts say that the concept is potentiallyad,'antageous. They will test differenttypes of vehicles and will try modificationson the one on hand.
