What Piggy Bank is about? What is already done? What is next? The project is aimed to address current low levels of financial literacy in disadvantaged communities. The PIGGY BANK consortium will ensure that parents, adult facilitators and community educators are fully supported through the provision of a suite of on-line platforms, bespoke training resources and networking aids essential to the successful achievement of their financial literacy objectives. On the 17th & 18th of September 2019, the first transnational meeting took place in Virginia, Co. Cavan (Ireland) to officially start the project. Representatives from 7 European entities attended the meeting and offered an overview of adult education provision in their countries, focusing on family learning. At this meeting, the partners reviewed the project and together established a work plan, expected results and impacts. IO1 development: A Comic Book! The aim of these comic strips is to create a fun and attractive environment for young learners (aged 6-12 years old) to develop their financial knowledge and skills. The 12 comic book series will develop financial literacy through the exploration of how to manage money effectively, good money practices such as saving and budgeting, examining financial pitfalls, and a brief introduction to the local economy. On the 17 th to 18 th of February, the second project meeting will take place in Santander (Spain), where the comics (IO1) will be presented and evaluated by the partners. We will be also discussing the development of the IO2: A Compendium of Online Educational Escape Room Challenge-based Resources for siblings.
