• TELKOM & SENTECH will be directly liaising with the Department of Communication

• TELKOM is undertaking an extensive audit of all the candidate cities, incl. Rustenburg, to assess the current ICT capability and identify areas where upgrading of bandwidth is required

• SENTECH is also part of the operations that TELKOM will be carrying out in respect to transmitters

• Currently there are 25 CCTV covering the CBD and few other areas; by 2008 there will be 98 closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) throughout the city, including rural areas
