Introduction:

Education in the general sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind and character or physicality of an individual

In its technical sense, education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to the next.

Based on the Philippine Constitution of 1987, all associate shall aim to: 1. Inculcate patriotism and nationalism 2. Foster love of humanity 3. Promote respect for human rights 4. Appreciate the role of national heroes in the historical development of the country 5. Teach the right and duties of citizenship. 6. Strengthen ethical and spiritual values 7. Develop moral character and personal discipline 8. Encourage critical and creative thinking 9. Broaden scientific and technological knowledge and promote vocational efficiency.

Section 4. Declaration of Objectives. – The Educational system aims to:

1. Provide for a general education, to (a) attain his potential as a human being (b)

enhance the range and quality of individual and group participation (c) acquire the essential educational foundation of his

development into a productive and versatile citizen;

2. Train the nation’s manpower in the middle- level skills required for

national development;

3. Develop the professions that will provide leadership for the nation in the advancement of knowledge for improving the quality of human life;

4. Respond effectively to changing needs and conditions of the nation through a system of educational

planning and evaluation.

Pre-School Education: is the learning program given to children ages three to five or six years in preparation for their formal primary education. It is also known as nursery, day care, or kindergarten schooling. Usually under the Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWD). Teachers are required to have at least units in Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD – R.A 8980).

Areas of Development: - personal, social and emotional development- Communication (talking and speaking)

- Knowledge and understanding of the world - Creative and Aesthetic development- Physical development - Analytical development (mathematical)

In preschool, it is important for the child to learn basic but essential information and skills so that they will be better prepared to adjust and cope with life situations and the demands of formal schooling, and to maximize their potential.

Elementary Education Aims:

- Provide knowledge and develop skills, attitudes, values essential to personal development and necessary for living and contributing to developing and changing society, provide learning experiences which increase a child’s awareness and responsiveness to the changes in the society;- Promote and intensify knowledge, identification with and love for nation and the people to which he belongs; - Promote experiences which develop orientation to the world of work and prepare the learner to engage in honest and gainful work.

Secondary Education Aims:

- Discover and enhance the different aptitudes and interest of students in order to equip them with skills for productive endeavor and or to prepare for tertiary schooling - Educate the youth to become active and 1 productive members of society Meet and match industry demand with competent and globally competitive workforce 2 Through a continuing effort to reach global education standards, our universities aim to increase the quality of human capital and productivity vis-à-vis national and economic progress and stability.

Tertiary Education: is a post secondary schooling in higher education leading to a degree in specific profession or discipline.

- To provide a general education program that will promote national identity, cultural consciousness, moral integrity and spiritual vigor- To train the nation’s manpower in the skills required for national development- To develop the professionals that will provide leadership for the nation- To advance knowledge through research work and apply new knowledge for improving the quality of human life and responding effectively to changing societal needs and conditions.
