Peartree Spring Primary School Newsletter — 18/10/2019 Notices
Half Term - A reminder that the school is closed from Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November. due to half term.
Children return to school on Monday 4th November.
Secondary Transfer - A further reminder to parents of children in Year 6 that the deadline to apply for a secondary school place for
their child is Thursday 31st October 2019. All the information is available online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions.
Remembrance Service - We are holding our annual Remembrance Service for children in school on Monday 11th
November. We would love to invite any veterans from our community to attend, so that we can show them our respect
and gratitude for their service. If you know any veteran family members or friends who would like to attend, please
inform the school office of their name(s)/contact number(s). Parents will be able to view our annual poppy display on
the KS2 playground after school until 6pm.
Parent Consultations - A reminder to please sign up to our parent evening system if you have not already done so via
https://peartreespring.parentseveningsystem.co.uk. This system enables parents to book their parent consultation
appointments online. Please remember to book your appointment day/time by today, Friday 18th October 2019.
Flu vaccinations (Rec to Year 6 children) - These will be taking place on Thursday 24th October and Thursday 21st November during
the school day. This will only apply to children whose parents have returned their consent forms. Please contact the Herts
Immunisation Team on 01462 459595 if you require any further information.
Ocarinas for Year 2 children - Please remember to consent via schoolgateway if you would like your child to take home
their ocarina and book each day.
PE Kit - We have a number of pupils that DO NOT have a PE kit in school, which should consist of navy blue shorts, navy
blue jogging bottoms (for winter months), PE t-shirt with the school logo and trainers. Please can we ask parents to ensure
their child/ren have the correct PE kit in school at all times. Girls who wear tights to school will need to have a pair of socks
in their kit as well. Thank you for your support.
Family Library for Reception children/parents - If you would like to attend the weekly library sessions, please remember to
consent and pay the £3 deposit via schoolgateway.
Personalised Christmas Cards/Gifts - Children have individually designed their own Christmas picture. Parents
are able to view/purchase Christmas cards and personalised items. A flyer and sticker will be sent home with your
child/ren during the week of the 21st October 2019 with further information.
HCL NEW School Lunch Menu - A copy of the new Winter/Spring 2019-20 menu has been emailed to parents today. This will also
be available to peruse on the school's website. The new menu will start from Monday 4th November 2019.
Staff News - Today we are saying goodbye to Mrs Hobbs, Finance Assistant, who is taking up a new Office Manager position at another
school. We wish her all the very best and thank her for being part of the Peartree team.
W/c 21st October 2019 is Lunch Week 2
of the Summer 2019 menu
The lunch menu is available to peruse on our school website. The cost
of a school meal is £2.50 per day, £12.50 per week. Meals must be paid
for in advance via schoogateway.com. PLEASE NOTE the following
menu changes:
Tuesday (Week 1) - Red option is Lamb Slice NOT Lamb flatbread
Tuesday (Week 2) - Red option is Beef Burger NOT Beefy Joes
Thursday (Week 3) - Red option is BBQ pork NOT Ratatouille
REMINDER - Due to some of our children having severe nut allergies,
please do not put items in your child’s packed lunch box that contains
nuts.
PE Noticeboard
Boy’s Football Match - Well done to the football team who played on
Monday. They played fantastically and worked as a team. They won 6-2
beating St Nicholas. Keep up the good work boys!
Dodgeball - Well done to the dodgeball team who took part in the
tournament this week. Their sheer effort and determination led them to
achieving a bronze medal. Well done!
Schools Games Value Award - Each week, a class receives a
certificate for showing the best School Games value. This
week it has been awarded to Coral Class for the respect value.
