NOT JUST THE PRICE

I was in this Thanksgiving Day prepared by my boyfriend’s sister, it was my first time actually to meet her so there’s the fear of how to mingle with her.  So we were there in the table for lunch, there were eight of us actually; me and my boyfriend Brandon, his parents, his sister Alicia and her husband and some were Alicia’s acquaintances. For the first minute of the lunch, I was just there silent. I can’t help it, they were just staring at me waiting for me to say a word but I didn’t have any. Then I smiled at Alicia and told her how great the turkey was. Honestly, it was really flavorful and tender. And it went through; I was able to include myself in their conversation.

After minutes of talk, Alicia noticed my earrings. I have this deep purple pearl which I matched with my silver purple purse. She exclaimed that it’s too beautiful. One of Alicia’s friend guessed that it costs $150. My eyes widened and I just smiled. Then the other girl guessed that it’s $200.  I stared at Brandon and we both laughed. Then all numbers are given until it reached $375. And we can’t help but laugh. To stop the guessing, I quickly told them the digits. After hearing that it’s just $75 all of the girls including Brandon’s mother muttered the word “What?” in chorus. They can’t believe how such a pretty beautifully made pearl earring could be that cheap. Alicia really stood from her seat to touch and look at the earring. I could see her eyes brightened and actually asked, “Where did you get this?” Brandon did the honor to inform her sister and answered proudly, “She just bought online.” There, all of us laughed.

In reality, accessories are not about the price. They are about the looks and how it suits you, the comfort and how you feel good about it and how you carry it for yourself.
