Creo Tip of the Week: Logo Creation & Scaling

Step #1: Create a logo part from a DXF file…

In your “logo part” select INSERT > SHARED DATA > FROM FILE. Next select the logo and press ok, this will bring you to the Choose Solid Options and Placement menu. Import the logo as a surface and select ok. Your logo will now be shown in the part as a surface assembled to the default coordinate system….

DXF File (Drawing Exchange Format): A CAD data file format used to exchange data between programs. For this example the DXF contains a logo we’ll import into Creo.

Step #2: Make a sketch to measure the size of the logo…

This shows the default logo was imported as 65.7 X 58.6mm. We want to make our logo 20mm wide – we’ll have to use the scale function to change the size of the logo…

Step #3: Scale the logo…

20.0065.691 0.30445571

This becomes your scale function to make the logo 20mm wide

Once you know the scale function, select EDIT > SCALE MODEL. Enter the number up to 8 decimal places for accuracy and select ok…
