What is the PDLCThe Professional Development Leadership Conference (PDLC)is dedicated to developing a holistic community-centricprogram in pursuit of enhancing the development of Africansocieties.These Conferences are centered on the progression andchallenges of development occurring within the Africancontinent 3. African Youth InitiativeAYIS objectives to the Professional DevelopmentLeadership conferences are for members to learnthe framework of U.N. committees and deliberate ontopics that are germane to the enhancement of localcommunities within the society. During the 3-4 dayconference/seminar sessions, members will draft aresolution on the topic that was previously set by theorganization. If the resolution passes it must berendered unto local communities or that of which isapplicable to the improvement and progression ofsociety. 4. African Youth InitiativeObjectives Debates are intended to spark participants ideas forchange within communities that will then be carried outby the participants 5. We aspire for our participants to walk out the doorwith three types of opportunities. Educational opportunities: Working at institutions abroad,distance & local learning opportunities, NGOs, Research &fellowships. Building Communities from the Grassroots: Consists ofapplication of basic community development concepts,methods and practical skills for involving and empoweringlocal & international citizens and leaders effectively incommunity-based efforts regardless of the issue. Internships & Employment: Provides youth & students theopportunity to test their aptitude for a particular careerbefore permanent commitments are made. They will developskills in the application of theory to practical work situationsAfrican Youth Initiative 6. Resolution DevelopmentConference Aspect1) Our aim at AYIMUN is for participants to be able to implement thevalues of learning, discussing, planning and executing theirresolutions into real life situations2) The development of the resolution will be similar to the procedureof the United Nations resolution development process consisting ofpreambulatory and operative clauses. The operative clauses of theresolution must each consist of 4 short-term goals and 1 long-termgoal. All additional goals are acceptable on condition that four arecompleted regardless of how many goals are amended to theresolution. 7.
