We have enjoyed seeing the school set up like a campground this week with our Pod, 8, 9 and 10 campers. The children appeared to be having a great time as they learned to problem-solve together and had the opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with their peers. The weather couldn’t have been better! We have the Year 5 and 6 visits to the Terenga Paraoa Marae happening next week and we are very excited that our students have the opportunity to stay at this Marae, which has a rich cultural heritage. We also have our Pod 2 camp activities happening at the end of next week and hope the weather stays fine for them. We extend our thanks to all of the parents who have assisted, or who are still to help out, with these outdoor activities that are so valuable for our learners. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend. Tennis Doubles On Wednesday, Blake Hay and Coby Jones competed at the Whangarei Primary School Tennis Doubles Competition, playing seven games in total. They won all their games and even more impressive was the fact that they won the final against an Intermediate team. Rumour has it that “Do it for Hurupaki” was mentioned a number of times! Awesome effort, boys. We are all very proud of you.

EXTRA EXTRA At the inter-school swimming Tane Traill came 3rd in the year 4 breaststroke and also qualifies for the Northland Champs in Dargaville on April 11th. Well done, Tane.

EASTER RAFFLE!

If your child is going to buy a ticket, we do ask that they please donate an Easter item.

For all the new families of the school, this is a raffle run by the kids for the kids. We ask for each child to donate an Easter egg or some sort or Easter item (non-perishable, no hot cross buns please) and place it in the box in the office by Friday April 7th. Tickets will then be sold (50 cents) before school and at interval Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th April (to school children only). The money raised from the raffle goes towards wet weather games for every classroom. The draw will be made on Thursday 13th April.
