The Great Plains
• The Great Plains is the broad expanse of flat land, much of it covered in prairie, steppe and grassland, that lies west of the Missouri River and east of the Rocky Mountains in the U.S and Canada. This area covers the states of, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming.
George Washington's Faerwell Adress
This was the speech that President George Washington gave to explain why he wasn't coming back for a third term. He also warded the U.S on foreign affairs and staying nutral.
Monroe Doctrine
The policy that stated that any South American country was protected by the U.S. If any other country was to interfere with South American nations , the U. S was going to get involved .
The Preamble to the U.S. Constitution•The preamble is an introduction to the U.S. constitution. It outlined the general goals of the framers: to create a just government and to ensure peace, an adequate national defense and a healthy, free nation.
Geography of New England
•Colonies Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Connecticut were the most north of the colonies. They experienced long winters and short summers. Soil was rocky because during the ice age, glaciers scraped all fertile soil into the middle colonies. Farmers were only able to grow enough crops to support their own family. Because the location of these colonies ewas near the ocean, there was an abundance of fish.

John Brown's Raid was an attempt by the white abolitionist John Brown to start an armed slave revolt in 1859 by seizing a United States arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia. Brown's raid, accompanied by 20 men in his party, was defeated by a detachment of U.S. Marines led by Col. Robert E. Lee.
Louisiana purchase
• the Louisiana purchase was America buying 828,000 square miles west of the thirteen colonies from France. America bought it for 15 million dollars. France decided to sell the territory because they had to pay for their war with England. the president sent louis and Clark out to the new territory to map the area and see what was there.

• A phrase that originated during the 1750s and 1760s that summarized a primary problem of the British colonists in the Thirteen Colonies, which was one of the major causes of the American Revolution.

A system for the branches of government, so that each branch has its power to control the other branches so that no branch is dominate.
Lewis and Clark Expedition
• President Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Purchase from France.
• Jefferson hoped that Lewis and Clark would find a water route linking the Columbia and Missouri rivers.

• Abraham Lincoln passed out the Homestead act in 1862 for anyone including freed slaves and women who had never taken arms up with the U.S. Government; could file an application to claim federal land grant.nn
Marbury v. Madison
• James Madison wanted to get the job that he was promised. Madison eventually get the job under the judicial review. This had an impact on America, because it implied more powers to the federal government.
The Great Compromise
The Great Compromise was the delegates were trying to figure out how each states would be represented in Congress. The constitution decided to combine the New Jersey and the Virginia Plan. Which became know as the Great Compromise
Manifest Destiny
During the 19th century Americans was expanding the United State from coast to coast. Americans were moving west of the United States. The United State believed that it was God who wanted us the expand.

• The Mayflower Compact was the first written framework of government established in what is now the United States.
• The House of Burgesses was the first popularly elected legislature in the New World.
