How quickly can I expect to be seen?It is our goal to see and treat patients asquickly as possible. However, during peakhours of operation and when acute patientsare being treated, wait times may be longerthan usual. Patients with extreme situations(cardiac problems, severe lacerations, etc)who arrive during hours of operation will be seen immediately.

Follow-up CareIf you do not already have an existingrelationship with a physician, we will behappy to help you find one through ourUniversity HealthService Center. Simplycall 706/SER-VICE (737-8423) in theAugusta area or toll free1/800/476-SERV(7378) outside Augusta, 24 hours a day,seven days a week. You will speak with aregistered nurse who can help you locate aphysician to fit your specific needs. Bycalling, you’ll have access to more than450 highly skilled physicians who practiceat University Hospital.

n Prompt Care is not a Medicaidprovider.

n Prompt Care cannot fi le insurancefor out-of-s ta te res idents unless theyhave Medicare .

When should you use a Prompt Carefacility?Go to Prompt Care when you and your family need treatment for urgent healthcare needs. Prompt Care is a walk-infacility with no appointment necessary.You may see a Prompt Care physician forconditions such as minor cuts, sprains,infections, sore throats, broken bones,intestinal complaints, insect bites, etc.If you’re uncertain about when youshould seek treatment at Prompt Care,call ASK-A-NURSE at SER-VICE(737-8423), or 1-800/476-SERV (7378),24 hours a day to speak with a registerednurse who can advise you.

What services are available?In addition to the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses, outpatientlab and X-ray services are available on-site. Physicians at Prompt Care willalso perform school sports physicals.

What types of health care professionals are available at aPrompt Care facility to render care?Unlike other minor treatment facilities, you will always be evaluated and treatedat Prompt Care by a board-certifiedphysician. Other professional staffincludes RN, LPN and RadiologicTechnologist.
