    EME and Lectors Quarterly TrainingTraining for Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist (EME) and Lectorswill be conducted on October 6th, 2012 following the 5pm Mass at 6pmapproximately. This training is offered to ALL current ministers and new

    parishioners interested in becoming Lectors and/or EME candidates needto be at least 18 year-old, be confirmed, and be in good standing with theCatholic Church. Also, Lectors can be younger than 18 year-old. Pleasecontact Deacon Dave @ [email protected] if you

    Military Council of Catholic Women (MCCW)

    We should like to invite all the ladies of the parish to the MilitaryCouncil of Catholic Women (MCCW) kick-off meeting. Our first meeting forhe year will be Friday September 7th. We will begin with Mass at 6 p.m., fol-owed by our program, a short presentation on the Works of Mercy. We will

    share High Tea, and learn the correct way to make hot tea. The Mass and pro-gram will take place at the Bicentennial Chapel. Please join us for this and all

    MCCW at Fort Gordon offers FAITH STUDY on Monday morningsfrom 9:30 - 11:00am followed by daily Mass for those who can attend. This yearwe will study Catholicism by Fr. Robert Barron. Journey Around the World andDeep into the Faith. Fr. Robert Barron created the groundbreaking CATHOLI-CISM ADULT STUDY PROGRAM as a thematic presentation of what Catho-ics believe and why, so all adults can come to a deeper understanding of the

    Catholic Faith. Not a video lecture, Church history or scripture study. This en-gaging and interesting formational program uses the art, architecture, literature,music and all the treasures of the Catholic tradition to illuminate the timelesseachings of the Church.     Adoration on Wednesdayoin us for adoration this coming Wednesday at 6:30pm. We meet every week

    spend and dedicate an hour in Eucharistic Adoration. This is a great way tocrease your faith and help you with your prayer life.

    VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIESPa

    POSITION DESCRIPTION (volunteer position)he Special Events Coordinator will oversee all aspects of events based on food service

    or approximately 4-8 events a year, including our annual event St. Michaels Day.

    UALIFICATIONS

    Good communication skills.

    Enjoy working with a variety of people.

    Ability to organize volunteers for decoration and food preparation.

    Good with details.

    Enjoy being a host/hostess at events.

    Ability to adjust plans and redirect volunteers under pressure.

    ESPONSIBILITIES:

    Organize the preparation and serving of meals, and fellowship for the Membershipclass 3-4 times each year. These events are held on weekends.

    Oversee the preparation and serving of food at 3-4 visitor receptions each year.

    The planning for these events is done with the Parish Life Coordinator, and mightbe approved by the Pastor and Parish Council.

    Confirm date of event and time with the Parish Council.

    Plan meal and decoration within given budget and under Parish Council approval.

    Recruit additional volunteers.

    The Special Events Coordinator is required to brief the Parish Council.

    Adult Altar Servers Wanted
