Key Duties & Responsibilities

· Site Management and supervision of all aspects of M&E construction associated with largescale works packages including introduction of KPI`s for major activities in particular repetitiveworks and activities

· Management of a team of 10 Indonesian engineers & inspectors covering the followingservices plumbing & fire protection, electrical (MV & LV), Extra Low Voltage (ELV), HVAC &vertical transportation

· Logistics and methodology associated with delivery, positioning and installation of MEP palnt& equipment

· Health & Safety training, procedures, audits, mentoring and education of engineers and tradecontractors to international standards, tool box talks, site inductions of weekly andimplementation of monthly safety awards and recognition for companies and individuals.Adoption of the “don’t walk by & reporting” policy for anyone associated with the project withrespect to health & safety issues.

· Overall control of QA/QC and preparation and implementation of processes and proceduresto international standards i.e. method statements, risk assessments, void closures, pre-concrete pour sign off, defects notification and clearance

· Overall control and responsibility for MEP progress and programme against key milestones

· Direct procurement of MEP work packages, plant and equipment to ensure required qualityand maintain programme

· Management and reporting on the MEP programme and progress, identification of key issues,risks, weekly look ahead, monthly report etc

· Review and approval of interim payments to contractors and suppliers

Project: 20 Manchester Square London, W1

Position: M&E Services Manager

Employer Bovis Lend Lease Ltd

Period: June 1998 – October 1999

20 Manchester Square is a 7000 m2 commercial office development within an architecturally sensitivearea of central London that required demolition of an existing office building and the construction of anew building with a conventional brickwork facade construction.

The project has a 2 level basement parking, services plant room areas key services features are:

· Full scope of mechanical, electrical & plumbing services/systems

· LTHW heating plant

· Central air cooled chillers

· Removal of and reconnection to existing services infrastructure

· Category A

· Separate mechanical, fire fighting, electrical, BMS, and vertical transportation trade contracts

· Coordination with municipal utility and supply companies

Key Duties & Responsibilities

· Pre-Contract process i.e. preparation of Trade contractor work packages, scopes andcomplex interfacing

· Survey of existing services and identification and coordination with respect to demolition ofthe existing building

· Logistics planning & programming

· MEP programming

· Trade contractor tender review & recommendations

In parallel to this project, I was working on the refurbishment of the St James Court Hotel in Londonwith Bovis Interiors Ltd as an M&E Construction Manager and my main role on Manchester Squarewas on the Pre-Contract works and support to the Construction Mangers with respect to M&E issuesduring the construction stage.

Project: 33 Holborn Circus, London, EC1

Position: M&E Construction Manager

Employer : Bovis Lend Lease Ltd

Period: October 1999 to March 2001

This project is a 35,000m2 (385,000 ft2) landmark multi storey office development at Holborn Circusthat included three levels of deep basement designed by Foster & Partners for the Client GeminiCommercial Investments Ltd.

I was previously involved on another Gemini Commercial Investments Ltd project at 9 Appold Street,EC2A for 3-4 months. My role was as M&E Construction Manager and responsible for the completionof the shell & core MEP works, obtain District Surveyor approval of the fire and life safety servicesand issuance of the certificate of practical completion by the Engineer. I achieved this and as adirect result, the Clients Project Director specifically requested that I be part of the projectteam for their project at 33 Holborn Place.

St Pauls planning and height constraints resulted in low slab-to-slab dimensions of 3800mm tomaintain viewing corridors to St. Pauls Cathedral, so careful co-ordination of services was necessarywithin the restricted ceiling voids in order to service the 3,000m² floor plates.

As well as the shell and core services the fit out included a restaurant, auditorium and meeting rooms.

Key services features included:

· Full scope of mechanical, electrical & plumbing services/systems

· LTHW heating plant

· Central air cooled chillers at roof level

· Complex Facade cleaning system

· Complex atrium cleaning system

· Pre-fabrication of MEP services i.e. risers, high level MEP services to typical office floors andplantrooms

Key Duties & Responsibilities

· Health & Safety, audits of areas and trade contracts outside of MEP, conducting tool boxtalks, ensuring safe methods of working, preparation and control of electrical safety plan,permits to work, power and access, adherence to method statements and registers etc

· Control of trade contractor progress and programming inc, daily site diary and progressreporting

· Monitor and audit labour returns and allocations in particular against approved benchmarksand milestones

· Ensure implementation of quality control procedures and methods

· Overall MEP progress reporting, individual trade contractor progress and identification of keyissue, impacts and mitigation measures

· Manage all aspects of QA paperwork, procedures, reporting and achieve successful voidinspections, void closures in a timely manner

· Manage inspections by local authorities in particular the City of London District Surveyor withrespect to fire & life safety and compilation of a diary and record of inspections etc

· Management of procurement of MEP plant and equipment by trade contractors

· Preparation of the “2 week look ahead” programme and report

· Input into the monthly report with respect to MEP works

· Management of the local authority inspections and approvals

· Support to the commercial management team with respect to contract issues related to MEP,progress payments etc

This landmark development comprises of 6 No High Rise (23 to 44 storey) luxury apartment towers(1050 apartments) and 64 villas, retail (35 units mixed use) podium and 3 level basement parkingstructure.

Key services features included:

· Full scope of mechanical, electrical inc HV & plumbing services/systems

· Smart home technology in the apartments and villas

· Intelligent Building Management System

· Water cooled chiller plant below main entry ramp with complex servicing and lifting apparatus

This landmark development comprises of a 42 storey 5* hotel with 10 level above grade multi storeycar park.

I was brought into this project for the final 10 months to support the Project Manager on a “part time”basis to ensure that all MEP issues of a technical, coordination and construction nature weremanaged and resolved to ensure completion by the Contract date, to the required quality,performance and within budget. This project required good inter-personal skills to encourage co-operation and co-ordination between the Main Contractor, MEP Subcontractor, specialist sub-contractors and the Engineer.

Project: Kempinski Hotel, Dubai, UAE

Position: Senior MEP Project Manager

Employer: Mace International Ltd

Period: June 2003 to October 2005

This 20 storey 5* hotel development is an integral part of the landmark Mall of the Emirates retail malldevelopment.

· Connection and interfacing to main services supplied via mall infrastructure i.e. chilled waterand HV power

· Complex interfacing with retail mall and indoor ski centre

In parallel to this project I was also the Senior MEP Project Manager for the Mall of the Emirates(270,000 m2), indoor ski centre (Ski Dubai), 7500 space parking structure and 132/11 KV Substation.

Senior MEP Project Manager responsible for the design management, coordination, procurement,construction management and technical support for the MEP services, IT/Data, vertical transportation& Infrastructure services. The project is a major $1.1 Billion mixed used development in the centre ofDoha, spread over an area of 460,000 sq m. The project includes a high end residential building,comprising of 17No. nine level buildings, retail and an indoor amusement theme park, including a foodcourt, cinemas and cafes and a 30 level 7-star hotel, comprising of 134 hotel suites, six restaurants,a gym, indoor pool and business centre. The main MEP services infrastructure comprises of a 40MVAPrimary Sub-station, 10,000 TR central water cooled chiller plant, TSE and grey water treatmentplants and 10No. secondary 11LV/415V Substations.
