2)Begin in high school or middle school progressing through college/university

3)Educational programs fall within a pathway from the Minnesota framework (the wheel)

Process & Strategies for Aligning Curriculum

SECONDARY & POST-SECONARY LEVELS

II. TECH PREP COLLEGE CREDIT process &

participation & support in conjunction with local meeting(s) &

information gathering.

Each Secondary partner examines their own course offerings, required courses, Career & Technical Education & other electives – Information is shared through Course Registration materials & Programs of Study templates

Post-Secondary College partner examines their course offerings by Discipline – Program of Study area and offers a recommended course sequence for students registering for program of study

I. SCOPE & SEQUENCE AT SECONDARY & POST-SECONARY LEVELS

II. TECH PREP COLLEGE CREDIT PROCESS & NEGOTIATIONSCertificates are negotiated regionally every other Fall – course objectives are reviewed for existing certificates, updates in language, software editions, etc. are discussed and reviewed – updates are made to certificates as agreed upon by consensus of group in attendance.New certificates are negotiated regionally by similar review process utilizing College’s Common Course Outlines and determining language that will appear on certificate that is understandable & accessible for group in attendance.

III. Regional Advisory Board participation

High school partners are invited to become members of the College’s Regional Advisory Board.Part of the agenda of Advisory Boards is the discussion of the curriculum – current offerings and potential changes to the curriculum as suggested by industry’s trends and shifts that need to happen at both the secondary & post-secondary training levels.

IV. SC Perkins Consortium participation/support in conjunction with local meeting(s) & workdays

Consortium provides leadership, resources and information about Programs of Study to all members.Independent school districts convene local meetings, determine course offerings, potential Programs of Study options at their respective school, complete data collection of information & submit data to Consortium office for input into electronic database system. District determines method, usage & dissemination of information at local level.
