Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,

Hoy celebramos Domingo de Ramos, el inicio de la Semana

Santa y el final de la Cuaresma. La entrada triunfal de Jesús

en Jerusalem. Cuántos de nosotros añoramos que Cristo en-

tre de esa misma manera en nuestras vidas, para reparar y

transformar lo que es necesario cambiar, pero ¿estamos real-

mente dispuestos a recibirlo con todo honor y gloria?

Esta Semana Santa se celebrará sin feligreses en el templo,

pero con las familias reunidas en sus hogares, el Cuerpo mis-

mo de Cristo, la iglesia viva y firme en la fe. Que buena opor-

tunidad de vivir y meditar la Pasión de Cristo con tus seres

queridos, meditar sobre el pecado, la salvación y la vida eter-

na, hacer un paralelo con una realidad única e inesperada de

la humanidad, producida por la pandemia.

Vivir esa pasión, crucificción y muerte de Jesús, además de

ser el acto de amor más sublime con el que todo un Dios se

ha manifestado a sus hijos en la tierra, también nos enseña

que para vivir es necesario morir. Para anhelar la vida eterna

es necesario morir al pecado. Despues de la muerte, viene la

vida, despues de la tormenta viene la calma, despues de la

tribulación viene la purificación, despues de la guerra llega la

paz. El camino del sacrificio es el inicio de la esperanza, es

esa fuerza interna que nos alienta a seguir adelante confiados

en un Dios benefactor de su pueblo.

Sigamos en oración y comunión profunda con Dios, para que

pronto pase esta situación de cuarentena que estamos vivien-

do, que los enfermos se recuperen, que los cientificos desar-

rollen una cura pronto, que continue fortaleciendo al personal

médico ya debilitado por el arduo trabajo, por los desampara-

dos y por todos los que sufren en estos momentos.

La celebración del Triduo, por orden del Obispo John Noonan,

será transmitida online desde la Catedral de St James única-

mente. Esten atentos a través de MyParish app y las trans-

misiones en vivo diarias de la misa, para una información cor-

recta de cuándo y cómo será transmitida. Actualmente la in-

formación va cambiando frecuentemente debido a la situ-

ación.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday, the beginning of The Holy Week and the end of Lent, Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. How many of us would like Christ to enter our lives in the same way, to repair and transform what needs to be changed, but are we really ready to receive Him with all honor and glory? This Holy Week will be celebrated without parish-ioners in the temple, but with families gathered in their homes, the Body of Christ, the church alive and firm in faith. What a good opportunity to live and meditate the Passion of Christ with your loved ones, meditate on sin, salvation and eternal life, make a parallel with a unique and unex-pected reality of humanity, produced by the pan-demic. Living that passion, crucifixion and death of Je-sus, in addition to being the most sublime act of love that God has manifested to His children on earth, also teaches us that to live, it is necessary to die. To long for eternal life, it is necessary to die to sin. After death comes life, after the storm comes calm, after tribulation comes purification, after war comes peace. The path of sacrifice is the beginning of hope, it is that internal force that encourages us to move forward trusting in a God who is the benefactor of his people. Let us continue in prayer and deep communion with God, so that soon this quarantine situation that we are experiencing will pass, that the sick recover, that scientists develop a cure, that will continue to strengthen medical personnel already weakened by hard work, for the homeless. and for all those who are suffering right now The Triduum celebration, by order of Bishop John Noonan, will be broadcast online from St James Cathedral only.
