Everyday Faith
We ought to accustom ourselves to this basic truth till we are steeped in it, until it becomes as familiar to us as the perception
of shape or the reading of words. God, in all that is most living and incarnate. . . is not far away from us. Altogether apart from
the world we see, touch, taste, smell and hear around us. Rather, God awaits us every instant in our action, in the work of the
moment. There is a sense in which God is at the tip of my pen, my spade, my brush, my needle – of my heart and of my thought.
P.T.deC.
Everyday faith means realizing that all aspects of our life – worries, dreams, frustrations, joys – are shared by a God who
travels with us and comforts us. Teilhard suggests that our faith will increase if we begin each day consciously acknowledging
that we are already at home in God’s presence. Such practice helps us become ready for any undertaking, hope-filled and
trusting. Faith challenges us to discover God’s presence in our work and play and to integrate the Gospel reality into our daily
life. We keep faith through wholehearted, caring involvement in the moment: using a computer, washing dishes, cutting the
lawn, talking to friends, working in the garden. Ponder each experience if this day. How has the presence of God tried to
reveal itself? Offer your day to God in praise and gratitude.
Prayer: O God, you are ever present in my life, let me know you are not as a distant figure who enters my experience via
dramatic miracles or special events, but as a faithful companion who draws near in ordinary moments of the day. Even on
those days when I do not feel your nearness, let my faith give me the courage to go on anyway.

As you know, if you want to contribute through cheques, please send them to either St. Matthew’s or Our Lady of Mount Carmel church houses. If you wish to take out a Standing Order, please speak to Fr. Martin on 01563 533587. Muchas gracias por su generosidad
Children’s Liturgy During the Summer Holidays, the Children’s Liturgy will be on holiday. Girls and Boys, have a good break!
Appeal for Volunteers
Because the Church will need to be sanitised after every Service, we will therefore need a growing band of volunteers for these tasks. Many people already do great work within our Parishes but we will need ‘all hands on deck’ as we move forward. Even if you have never thought of doing this before, if you are healthy and fulfil the government Covid-19 guidelines, please consider volunteering. Please contact Fr. Martin to volunteer.
Bulletin This bulletin is available online but, if you know of anyone who wishes to receive a letter by post, please let Fr. Martin know.
