Countries and cultures reflected in the figures include The Holy Land, Japan, Mexico, Peru , Thailand, countries in Central and North America and Africa. Materials range from stone, terra cotta, mud, olive wood, and plastic.

Cuarto Domingo de Adviento

En estos últimos días antes de Navidad, la mayoría de nosotros nos vemos preparando y decorando nuestras casas, asegurándonos de que todo esté listo para la Navidad. Incluso adornamos el exterior de nuestras casas y en las noticias de la noche vemos casas y patios cubiertos con luces de Navidad o algunas casas con una sola vela en cada ventana. La tranquilidad y el atractivo de los colores de las luces y los adornos externos se enfatizan si hay nieve. En muchos países del mundo, la escena del pesebre es uno de los símbolos más destacados de la temporada. María, José, los pastores, los animales y luego los Reyes Magos se reúnen alrededor de un pesebre de heno en el que se coloca al niño Jesús. Es irónico, el niño acostado en un pesebre, es el que se convertirá en el pan para el mundo, el pan de la vida. Nacido en Belén que en hebreo significa "Casa de Pan". Cuando los niños ven el pesebre por primera vez, es probable que hagan preguntas que a nosotros, los adultos, nos detengan y nos hagan reflexionar. Una de esas preguntas una vez hecha es: ¿Dónde vive Jesús el resto del año? Podríamos responder en el cielo: en nuestros corazones, en el tabernáculo, en los fieles de la Iglesia o en todo el Cosmos. Y todo esto es verdad. La presencia de Dios está en todas partes, pero hace 2000 años Jesús vino como el Salvador, para vivir con nosotros y revelar las promesas de Dios. Esta semana, las Escrituras nos recuerdan de qué se trata toda nuestra decoración y que tenemos algo verdaderamente especial que celebrar y alguien realmente especial para recibir. Y así nos preparamos para recordar su nacimiento en la historia humana y celebrar este gran regalo de Dios para nosotros. Es en el pesebre que Dios toca nuestros más profundos deseos en nuestros corazones. Les deseo a ustedes y sus familias una feliz Navidad.

2018 Segunda Colecta de Caridades Católicas de Navidad

Diciembre 24-25: Esta colecta le da los medios a Caridades

Católicas (CC) de Atlanta para poder asistir a personas que

muchas veces tienen mas de un trabajo y no consiguen sol-

ventar sus gastos. CC identifica sus problemas y les proporciona

los recursos para lograr la autosuficiencia e independencia.

Por favor done generosamente a esta segunda colecta y ayudemos

a Caridades Católicas. ¡Muchas Gracias!
