VIEWING ACTIVITIES

* Ask students to report from their list of words and phrases. Make a list on the board.* Discuss the ending. Ask how the story could have ended differently. Tell students that Muzzy's adventures are continued in MUZZY, Level II.* Have students illustrate their favorite scene in the entire MUZZY Story. Label objects and people in Spanish.

* Ask the class to predict the ending. How can the problem of too many Sylvias be solved? What will happen to Bob and Sylvia ?* Use Activity Sheets 38a, 38b and 38c.

POST-VIEWING ACTIVITIES

PRE-VIEWING ACTIVITIES* Display the pictures or puppets of the MUZZY cast. Wave goodbye to each one, and say, "Adiós, Sylvia ", "Adiós, Bob ," etc.

* Tell the class that this is the end of the story. Ask them to listen for familiar words and phrases. Encourage them to take notes as they watch, and not to worry about spelling. (A partial list is included in the Vocabulary section above.)

* Good end-of-the-year activity: La person misteriosa . Place a blank grid on chalkboard, whiteboard or overhead. Each student in class fills out one form. Teacher collects all forms and selects one without the class seeing it. S/he reads from it while pair of students fill in grid for all to see. Then have fun guessing who it is.

* Have each student make a "Tic-Tac-Toe" game, using any words, numbers or phrases from the story. To make a game, draw the "Tic-Tac-Toe" grid, and fill in each space with words, phrases or numbers. These games can then be transferred to the board for the entire class to play. Divide the class into two teams, X and O. The X team begins by saying one of the answers, the object being to get three answers horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The teacher can write a large X or O through the answers, as they are given.
