Access the Internet

Launch a Web Browser

And go to http://family.lausd.net

Parent Registration – Access Key Input

1) Enter the Access Key you received from school

2) Click Submit

Create Your Account

Create Username and Password

Important: Complete this section on Password Hints to enable you to reset your password if you forget it

Click Create Account when finished

NOTE: Many factors can affect the attendance information that appears in the Family Module.  Examples include teachers’ inability to submit attendance in a timely fashion (e.g., computer or network problems), field trips, student visits to school offices, etc.  Please direct any questions about the accuracy of attendance information to the school office.

Steps for Accessing the Family Module

1. Complete and submit a Request for Access form (available from your school)

2. Receive a letter from the school with your Access Key

3. Go online: http://family.lausd.net

4. Click I need to register– Enter your Access Key– Click Submit

5. On Account Registration screen

– Create a Username and Password

– Complete the Hint Questions

– Click Create Account

6. On System Login screen

– Type your Username and Password in the appropriate boxes

– Click Log In

Getting Locked Out of Your Account

What to do Call the school to have

a staff member unlock your account. You will be provided with a temporary password.

After your account has been unlocked, complete the steps that follow.

automatically lock you out of your

1. Log in with Temporary Password

After your account is unlocked by the school, you

will receive a temporary password.

1.Go to http://family.lausd.net 2.Log in with your Username and Temporary Password3. Click Log InNow you will change your

password

2. Reset your Password

1. Type Temporary Password in Old Password field

2. Type a new password in the Password and Confirm Password fields based on the rules listed above

3. Complete the Password Hint questions and answers

4. Click Submit

Steps for Accessing a Locked Account

1. Contact the school office to unlock your account and obtain a temporary password

2. Go to http://family.lausd.net

3. Log in using your Username and Temporary Password

4. Click Log In

5. Reset your password via the Account Registration screen– Type the temporary

password in the Old Password field

– Type a new password in the Password field and retype it in the Confirm New Password field

– Complete Password Hint questions and answers

– Click Submit
