Welcome to the

Bridgewater Tae Kwon Do After School and Summer

Program

Our Mission

Bridgewater Tae Kwon Do is dedicated to promoting the growth of our students, both mentally and physically. Our programs and services are focused on health and fitness though training in Tae Kwon Do and our own multi sport model. Students develop their own physical balance through scheduled sessions of physical activity. With the tenets of Tae Kwon Do, we aim to achieve personal development with each student.

Our Vision

Bridgewater Tae Kwon Do will be viewed as a leader in re-spect to our ideas as they relate to After School and Summer programming. We will promote health and fitness though scheduled daily physical activity and personal development of each student through the tenets of Tae Kwon Do.

Our Core Values

While delivering it’s programming, Bridgewater Tae Kwon Do is guided by the tenets (JungShin) of Tae Kwon Do.

Our Multi Sport Model

At Bridgewater Tae Kwon Do we realize that for every student to develop physically, many sports

should be played.

In our After School program and our summer program, we will be doing

scheduled physical activities in order to develop this physical balance.

On Mondays and Wednesdays,

students will get the full benefit of Tae Kwon Do, including fitness and

flexibility. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we will be running our

very own Ninja Program. This obstacle course based program truly

uses multi sport motions, such as climbing, jumping, running and Balance. On Friday we will be

Doing simple self defense or playing games to improve self defense.

Our summer programming will also

include outdoor activities which will add to each student’s

physical literacy.

Unparalleled programming with exceptional results.

At Bridgewater Tae Kwon Do, we believe that every student is entitled to respectful, non discriminatory treatment regardless of their religion, age, culture, gender or diverse abilities. We value the rights of all children and their opportunity for active, meaningful participation in a quality after school or summer program within our community. We believe that all children and their families must have an inclusive and respectful experience in our programs.

Bridgewater Tae Kwon Do programs are designed to develop students in spirit, mind and body.

Unscheduled absences

Any unscheduled absences (sick days) should be called in to us at 902-521-2074 as soon as possible. This is done to prevent any unnecessary concern or worry from all concerned.

March Break / Christmas Break

We will have all day programming for March break, Christmas break, charged out at the rates for our Summer schedule. We do not charge for scheduled absences (vacation, holidays etc.) provided we know about these in advance. Let us know when you will be away, so that we will hold your spot.

Picking up your child from our programs

No child will be allowed to leave by themselves. If they are being transferred to another adult supervised program (for example Barracudas in our summer program), we must have written permission to do so. Only those on the pickup form will be allowed to pick up your child, unless we have written authority to add another person to your file. All people doing pickups should be known by the student, and be ready to show government I.D.

Scheduled absences

Any days missed on scheduled absences will not be charged out, considering that Bridgewater Tae Kwon Do knows about them 2 weeks in advance, and notice is given in writing.

What should my child bring ?

a change of clothes is always a good idea

A refillable water bottle

Because of varying tastes, children should bring a packed lunch to summer programming or any school time day long program. Snacks will be provided. Please make lunches allergen free.

Appropriate outdoor clothing for the forecasted weather

Bathing suits are possible for our summer programs

Sun screen

All items should be labeled with the child’s name

We are not responsible for any electronics or toys that a child may bring.

Insect repellant

Any item deemed necessary by you, the parent.

Lunch is not provided ?

The pricing of our programs does not allow us to provide lunch, Also, children have such varying tastes, and sometimes needs, that it would be impossible to satisfy every child. We feel that so long as a child has a packed lunch from home, they will be more likely to eat it and not go away hungry.

Behavioral guidelines

Our programs are very well structured which should help to relieve behavioral issues. We realize the importance of parents and our leaders working together in the process of our programs, in order to bring about a positive and stable environment for children. Parents and leaders / instructors should inform each other of behavioral concerns. We do not allow any form of corporal punishment in our programs, nor do we allow any aggressive actions between participants. Of course Tae Kwon do does have some elements of contact, but we will always endeavor to have it happen under controlled circumstances. We will not allow any harsh action happen between participants, or leaders and participants. We will not withhold any activity or food as punishment, nor will we grant reward for in exchange for positive behavior. Aggression means any physical, emotional, or verbal act which may result in the student placing themselves, other children, or leaders in an emotional, physical, harmful or unsafe situation. Continued aggressive behavior could result in the student being removed from the program. Efforts will always be made to diffuse aggressive behavior.
