These parts replace the Face Frames part type. The primary reason for this change is to provide a vertical and a horizontal face frame part for creating a cabinet using Multi Cross Section.

• Construction file. Divider Depth Adjustment.

This adjustment affects the Divider part type from the front edge.

• Construction file. Corner back support options.

Allows choices of butting the top and bottom to the Corner Back Support or running the corner back support behind the top and bottom. When the corner back support butts the top or bottom you can choose to not cut off the back corner with Butt/No Shape. Additional options are running the back support to the floor when using an attached toe kick. In the frame version the base bottom can butt or butt to the trimmed corner back support. Similar to how an unfinished end behaves.

This setting will default the base cabinet section type to a Drawer over an open area. The Section Opening Name will be Drawer/Open.

• Cabinet File (Frame) Finished End Type – Applied. • Cabinet File (Frame) Base Cabinet Ends next to Appliances – Applied.

These settings will allow the default Finished end type to be Applied.

• Cabinet File. Default height and depth adjustments for Applied Ends.

These adjustments are for the default Applied end size. Zero’s will size the Applied ends at the depth of the cabinet and the height of the face frame. A negative value will add to the size in the direction

Layout (Room) Level

• Special Container cabinet type.

A new cabinet type is available. It’s found in the Special Cabinet dialog as Container Only. This cabinet allows you to piece together a cabinet from scratch using the Add part and other functions in Multi Cross Section.

Page 10: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

• Customizable Text Tags.

In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag name. The syntax is {Aaa.Bbb} The Aaa is what will show as the group when adding the tag in a text box. Bbb would be a descriptor for the user to know what they are picking. There is a character limit of 24 at this time

including the curly brackets {.}. The right column is the user answers to be auto filled in the text box. In

this example I used a User Tag:

{_Plam.ExtB} to signify Plastic Laminate for the Exterior on Base cabinets.

The Equivalent To:

Purple VGrade would be the ‘answer’ to the User Tag.

Page 11: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

When you create a Text block in this room and select the User Tag button you’ll see the group names defined earlier.

This shows in the text block and the answer is automatically inserted.

You can add additional descriptive elements and save the text block for retrieval later. An example shows here:

Page 12: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

There is a Save button so the two columns can be re used when the Load button is picked later. This enables multiple sets of custom tags. You can save the User Tags or the Equivalent To lists so the items don’t have to be filled out over and over. Use the Save and Load buttons to save or retrieve the compiled sets of Customized Tags.

A new end type is available in the Cabinet Modify Ends box. The applied end is added outside the face frame.

When you select Applied as the end type, you will be prompted to re-size the cabinet to accommodate the end change.

If you answer No, the applied end is added to the existing width of the cabinet.

You can adjust the perimeter of the applied end with the adjustments. A negative number increases the size.

CAD

• Copy/Paste CAD items on Floor Plan. • Copy/Paste CAD items on elevations.

Find Copy on the <RB> menu when the CAD is selected. Find Paste on various <RB> menus.

Or you can use Ctrl +C to Copy and Ctrl+ V to Paste.

• Snap Toolbar.

This can be part of the Snap/Bend Toolbar.

• Image Import on Setup of Molding graphic.

Image import on molding graphic setup. Insert an Image on a molding graphics box to aid in outlining the molding with the CAD lines so the molding can be used in a design.

When in the Graphics mode of a new or existing molding choose Image. Draw a bounding box for the image and select it. Navigate to the image location and choose the image file type. Choose All Files(*.*) if the image is not one of the types listed.

Page 16: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

Remember the image can be stretched to fit the box size. Use line segments snapped together to roughly outline the face of the molding and then modify the lines to curves as needed. Remember Ctrl + drag allows the shape change.

• Output a 2 in field 8 in the PNA/PNL for grain along width.

This can be used by the Cut Rite software.

Multi Cross Section

• Cabinet number shows in Multi Cross Section window views.

The Front, Side and Top cross section views indicate the cabinet number in the window header.

• Next or Previous arrow to move between cabinets.

You can move from cabinet to cabinet using the arrows on the toolbar. It goes to the Next or Previous cabinet and when you see the last or first cabinet it will cycle through again in a loop. It’s suggested you change the 3D View to Wire Frame before rapidly cycling through the cabinets with the arrows.

• Cabinet Origin shows arrows in the positive X, Y, Z direction.

The Cabinet Origin is shown clearly with the arrows pointing in the positive X, Y, Z direction.

Page 18: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

• Snap/Bend Toolbar.

To aid in the selection of Snap settings, use the Snap/Bend Toolbar or make a Custom Toolbar with the Snap tools in it.

• Allow part shape to exceed part cut size.

In MXS allow part shape to exceed part cut size. The Shape part dialog allows the part shape to exceed the cutlist size. Do this by holding down the Shift key as you drag the part edge or point away from the perimeter.

Page 19: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

Click on a point and choose Position. Check the box Outside Cut Size and enter the X, Y value to move the point outside the part size.

With Add Border turned on in CNC, the part will nest at the shaped size. The cutting list remains at the parts cut size.

• Position, Bend and Move in the Modify menu.

The menus have been changed some to accommodate the new features.

Note the new addition of Position in the Modify menu, Bend and Move in the main menu. Bend has options of 180 and 90 degree. The direction of part bending will depend on the part orientation and selection.

Page 20: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

• Absolute Size Change in Part Modify.

Modify – Size/Property allows two ways of adjusting the part size. The value can be changed +/- at each edge or you can click the Absolute Size Change check box and enter the size desired. If you select a joint at the edge and Extend Part to Joint, the part adjusts to the parts position plus the joint value.

Page 21: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

• Move a part using snap points.

Move. To precisely move a part relative to another part you can use the snap functions. Found on the mouse <RB> after choosing Move. Or choose a snap point from the Snap toolbar before or after selecting Move.

Select the part and then Move. Select a point on the part to reference and then select a point on the next part to move to.

• Position a part to a Relative or Absolute point.

Position works in a few different ways. You can select an absolute position based on the Origin that relates to the node selected on the part. In this case I selected the center left of the shelf and the absolute position of X = 6.35 and Y = 24. The part moves to that location when OK is clicked. You can

Page 22: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

also just move it a Relative distance by clicking the Relative button and entering a distance in X, Y. Depending on the view, you can position the part with respect to X, Y and Z directions.

When connecting an added part to another part, make the joint and then use Position or Move.

• Bend a part to a 90 or 180 degree arc.

Bend. Use the Bend commands for turning a straight board into a board with a smooth radius of 180 or

90 degrees. Both bends result in the part size increasing to the original part length times π (pi) divided by two. The 180 degree bend has a radius of half the original part size. The 90 degree bend has a radius equal to the original part size.

Select Bend 180 Degree from the <RB> menu after highlighting a part. Remember to select the part from the view point you want the bend to influence. A part can only be bent in one plane.

Page 23: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

• Pass Joints to the Corner Back Support.

Pass Joints to the Corner Back Support. The left back side of the horizontal parts, including the Full Section Opening, now makes a joint with the face of the Corner Back Support. This enables CNC operations to occur and other joint adjustments to affect the part shape.

General

• Display a list of recently opened rooms.

Page 26: Parameters - Planit Cutting Edge Solutions Release Material/WhatsNe… · • Customizable Text Tags. In Room Defaults there is a Customize Tags tab. The left column takes the UserTag

Display a list of recently opened rooms. This list will be found on the File Menu to keep consistent with many other programs ‘Recent Files’ lists. The information is stored in the INI file. The last nine opened rooms will be displayed.

• Remember last saved job/room folder.

Remember last saved job/room folder. When you save a room, the saved folder location will be the initial folder the next saved job or room will use. You can select any accessible folder. If the folder comes up missing due to deletion or loss of drive mapping, the program will use the Jobs path setting in preferences.

• Retain toe kick display settings.

Retain the toe kick display options. The Toe Kick Platform display options will be saved so future rooms will start out with the same selections. The display options now allow you to show walls without cabinets.
