Introduction

Where does the game take place?

The game takes place on the planet of Elisha which contains the valuable resource Pesper Gas. Huge deserts and dune seas cover the currently uninhabited planet.

The Story Thus Far…...

A war named for its victors, the Roxxon War, left the Echo6 galaxy virtually uninhabitable to the four alien races: the Xera, Terralith, Roxxon, and Terrakith. Now they can survive only by mining Pesper Gas from the remaining worlds. Each race vying for more resources has arrived at Elisha. They are racing to occupy and defend as much land as possible so they can steal the precious Pesper Gas from the planet. One of the four races involved, the Terralith, discovered a prophecy that told of a hidden artifact known as the Bihotz. The prophecy states that the Bihotz has the power to transport its wielders through time. Whether the prophecy is true or not, the Terralith have decided to send in their own forces in order to investigate and search for this mysterious artifact in order to reveal the truth of the artifact and its power. The final battle is at hand. Who will control the fate of all life?

Factions

A World At War…

The planet Elisha is at war over the valuable resource of Pesper Gas. The war is being waged between four factions being the Roxxon, the Xera, the Terralith, and the Terrakith. Each faction has their own power which makes them different from each other. Using them to your advantage will be key to winning the battle. Each faction has their own miniature to represent their leader. They also have their own character sheet that details their “Faction Bonus”. Faction Bonus

The Roxxon The Roxxon are a mechanized race with an overwhelming desire for Pesper Gas.

The Roxxon have the power to move one Explorer 3 spaces during their turn.

The Xera The Xera is an aggressive race that is bloodthirsty for combat.

The Xera have the power to defeat enemy units with only 2 units instead of 3.

The Terralith The Terralith are an ancient race that has seen many wars and fought many battles. Their leaders are capable of commanding a massive army.

The Terralith start the game with 5 explorer units instead of 4. The Terrakith The Terrakith are a nomadic group that are more peaceful than aggressive, but can prove themselves to be very resourceful.

The Terrakith gain 2 additional Pesper Gas when they initially capture a Pesper Gas node.

Objectives During Gameplay

Capture Resource Nodes

Players must capture resource nodes in order to maintain and build up their explorer units which in turn can capture more resource nodes or eliminate enemy explorers or faction leaders. Protect Resource Nodes Players must be wary and keep opposing players from defeating their explorer that controls a Pesper Gas node and stealing their node. Eliminate Enemy Explorers or Leaders Players will decide on whether they wish to engage opposing forces in combat. If a player can plan their moves and predict their enemies’ moves well enough, they can even eliminate a player from the game by defeating that player’s leader.

Game Modes Economic Mode

In order to attain victory a player must accumulate 250 resources of Pesper Gas before the 30 round mark. If no player reaches 250 Pesper Gas before the 30 rounds are over, the player with the most resources is declared the winner. Domination Mode

In this game mode victory is achieved by eliminating every other player from the game by having their leader defeated, or running out of resources. The remaining player is declared the winner of the game, and the game ends when there is only one player’s leader left in the game, and that player has resources. In the event that there are more than one player’s leader remaining at the end of the 30th round, the player that has the most explorers on the board at the end of that round is declared the winner. If two or more players tie, the player with the most resources is declared the winner of the game. Legacy Mode

Victory in this mode is achieved by either accumulating 250 Pesper Gas or by eliminating every other player from the game (by eliminating their leader or them running out of resources). During the game, if any player collects 250 Pesper Gas or only one player’s leader remains in the game, that player is declared the winner of the game. If the game goes to the end of the 30th round, the player with the most resources is declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the player with the most explorers is declared the winner of the game.

Getting Started (Cont.) Preparing for Play

When selecting your play area, keep in mind that you will need enough space for the board as it evolves due to players placing the map tiles, as well as space for your faction character sheets, round counter chart, glass counters, Event Card deck, and miniatures that are not in play yet. The average play area should be around 3 feet and 6 inches by 3 feet and 6 inches. Following these steps can ensure that you setup your play area correctly:

1. Open up your The Elisha Legacy box and take out all of the components, which include your 39 Map Tiles (Starter Map Tile included), your Round Tracker Token your Round Counter Chart, your Event Card deck, your movement tokens, Pesper Gas Tokens, Character Sheets, and miniatures.

2. Using the included measuring tape, double check your play area to ensure it meets the minimum required play area of 3’6” x 3’6”.

3. When you are ready to begin play, place the starter map tile in the center of the play area faceup.

4. Then, take the remaining 38 map tiles and place them faceup inside the top half of The Elisha Legacy box.

5. Then, take the round counter chart and place it where all the players can see what round it is, but not in the way of any map tiles.

6. Then, take the Event Card deck (47 cards) and place it next to the round counter chart, but out of the way of any map tiles.

7. Then move on to selecting which faction each player will play as. 8. All players should then decide what game mode that they wish to play. 9. Finally, each player places their starting explorers and leader in their

faction’s designated space on the starter map tile. The players then shuffle the Event Card deck and begin play with the Roxxon going first, followed by the Xera, followed by the Terralith, and ending with the Terrakith turn.

Getting Started (Cont.) Picking Your Faction

All players will pick what faction they want to control. However, if two or more people want to play as the same faction the dispute is settled through Rock, Paper, Scissors. The winner gets to pick what faction they want to play as first. It’s important to take note of the different bonuses that each faction offers and how you can tailor your play style to make full use of your faction’s bonus. Once all players have a faction, each player should take a character sheet for their faction. Placing Your Starting Units and Assigning Values

Once all players have picked a faction, players will place their leader and 4 explorers (5 explorers if you’re playing as the Terralith) in their respective starting areas so that each explorer is on a hexagon that is touching the hexagon the leader is on. After all units are properly placed, all players receive 40 Pesper Gas to start off with. There is a convenient space marked on your character sheet to place your Pesper Gas tokens on.

Gameplay

Turn Sequence

1. Draw an Event Card (only every other round) 2. Collect Pesper Gas from nodes that you control 3. Player sacrifices explorers if necessary (refer to “Sacrificing Explorers”) 4. Pay upkeep for current explorers (refer to “Maintaining Your Upkeep”) 5. Build new explorers (refer to “Building New Explorers”) 6. Start 60 second sand timer 7. Pick and place a new terrain map tile within the 60 second sand timer time

limit. 8. Place down up to 5 movement trackers in spaces where your explorers can

move to. 9. Move up to 5 of your controlled explorers or leader to the positions where

the movement trackers were placed. 10.After all the units are moved, remove the movement trackers and place them

back in reach of everyone else where they won’t obstruct any tiles. 11. Engage in combat if the player decides to. 12. Capture a Pesper Gas node if eligible 13. End turn phase

Choosing a Map Tile and Placing it in the Play Area

Before choosing a map tile the player needs to start the sand timer. The player looks through the map tiles and chooses one; they place the map tile in the play area where it is eligible to be placed. Roads connect to roads or roads connect to Pesper Gas nodes on the tiles. If a player cannot choose a map tile and place it within the time limit they will forfeit their turn. Play will continue with the next player beginning their respective turn. Below you will find pictures showing correct tile placement and incorrect tile placement in the play area.

14

Maintaining Your Upkeep

All players must spend Pesper Gas units on each of their turns in order to maintain the number of explorers that they have at the beginning of their turn. Each explorer you control costs 2 units of Pesper Gas at the beginning of your turn. If a player does not have enough Pesper Gas to maintain all their explorers, he or she must decide on which of their explorers to sacrifice and remove from the board until they have enough Pesper Gas to maintain all their explorers. For each explorer that is sacrificed, the player in control of that unit receives 5 units of Pesper Gas. Building New Explorers

After paying the upkeep for the explorers under their control, players can choose to create new explorers. Each explorer costs 5 units of Pesper Gas to build and players can build as many as they can afford in a single turn. It’s important to note that creating large amounts of new explorers will also increase the cost to maintain

Elisha Legacy Instruction Booklet

Page 16: Paper Fish Studios Elisha Legacy Prototype

15

all explorers for all the following turns. Any new explorers that are created are placed as close to their respective leader as possible. Sacrificing Explorers

In the event that a player has more explorers than they have resources to sustain, the player must sacrifice some of those explorers in order to pay his upkeep. Sacrificing an explorer grants the player 5 Pesper Gas. The player chooses which explorers they want to sacrifice until they have enough Pesper Gas to pay the upkeep for the remaining amount of explorers they have under their control.

Movement

Players move their explorers and leaders in the same way. Explorers and leaders can move up to 2 spaces during their turns. Event cards may slow down movement speed to 1 or prevent a player from moving any units during a single turn. The Roxxon faction bonus allows them to have 1 unit who can move 3 spaces on their turn. Explorers and leaders can only move to adjacent hexagonal spaces that are not blocked by any units (leader or explorers). Explorers and leaders do not have to move along the black roads.

Combat

In order to eliminate an explorer or leader from play, a player must have at least 3 units on hexagonal spaces adjacent to the explorer or leader they want to remove. The Xera faction bonus allows them to remove explorers or leaders from play by touching the targeted unit on 2 sides instead of 3. The attackers don’t all have to be adjacent to each other so long as they are touching any 3 sides (or 2 in the Xera’s case) of the targeted unit. Here’s a visual example of how combat works in the game. Note that “eliminate” means removing the unit from the board. Opposing players do not take control of that unit.

Capturing Pesper Gas Nodes

Pesper Gas nodes are the spaces on map tiles identified by the pink cloud image. It is necessary for a player to capture and defend a node in order to generate substantial amounts of Pesper Gas. In order to capture a Pesper Gas node, a player’s leader or one of their explorer units must land on a node during their turn and in order to keep receiving Pesper Gas from the node the explorer or leader must continue to stay on the node.

Event Cards

A World of Experiences…

The world of Elisha is always changing and the environment is full of dangerous oppositions. Event Cards are the experiences that your faction encounters while searching for the valuable resource that they so desire. These experiences could be good fortunes or terrible setbacks. Below is an example of an Event Card called “Attacked by Sand Demons!”:

Prints You will find the printable components below with detailed instructions on how to print them and cut them out. For testing and review purposes, the character sheet pages do NOT need to be printed out. They are not essential to the gameplay, and during testing and review they may simply be referenced. Please print page 24 the Round Counter Tracker then cut out the Round Token Counter to place on the Round Counter Tracker. Please print page 25 twice, page 26 three times, page 27 three times, and page 28 once. This will amount to 39 total map tiles. Using scissors each map tile should be cut out as close to the outermost hexagon as possible. (If you cut off the “extra” bit of a road this is fine.)
