Il RossellinisIl premiato ristorante Rossellinis viene considerato tra i luoghi più suggestivi e romantici dell’intera Costiera Amalfitana. La magia del luogo, i piatti sapientemente ideati dallo Chef Michele Deleo e i gesti impeccabili del personale di sala rendono questo luogo fiabesco sia sulla terrazza esterna, con panorama incantevole sulla distesa blu cobalto del mare, sia nelle eleganti sale interne, classiche e ricche di charme.
La cucina, racconto di un lungo viaggio, frutto del bagaglio di esperienze accumulate negli anni dallo Chef, riflette una sapiente rielaborazione di diverse culture con le tradizioni e le materie prime locali per un’esperienza unica del palato.

Ravello – Atrani Tempo di percorrenza: 45 minuti
Tappedelpercorso:PiazzaDuomo,ViaRoma,PiazzettaSantaMariaGradillo,ViaSigilgaida,SS373Ravello-Castiglione,ViaFiume,ValledelDragone,Atrani.Si parte da Piazza Duomo: attraversato il pittoresco vicolo di Via Roma, siraggiunge la piazzetta di Santa Maria a Gradillo. Da qui, dopo pochi gradini al latodellachiesa,siimboccaViaSigilgaidae,dopoaverattraversatovarievoltelaSSRavello-Castiglione,siarrivaaViaFiume.Sipassasottoallagalleriadiuna vecchia cartiera, oggi trasformata in officina meccanica e si prosegue lungo lastradarotabilefinoadimboccarelaValledelDragone,ilcuinomederivadaun torrente che scorre nella lussureggiante vallata. Passerete vicino a vecchie cartiere simboli del periodo pre-industriale fino a raggiungere Atrani da dove si può facilmente raggiungere Amalfi.

Amalfi, una delle perle dalla Costiera è la più antica repubblica marinara d’Italia. La piazza è dominata dallo splendida cattedrale, un complesso architettonico costituito da due basiliche accostate e comunicanti, dalla cripta inferiore, dall’atrio d’ingresso, dal campanile e dal Chiostro Paradiso.
Positano40 minuti da Ravello Tempo previsto: 2 ore
Positano è un’altra delle rinomate destinazioni della Costiera Amalfitana. Caratteristico il paesaggio con le sue case bianche, abbarbicate alla collina che si affaccia sul mare arrivando a lambire la spiaggia, quasi a rafforzare il matrimonio di Positano con il suo limpido mare. La sua architettura caratteristica è composta da vicoli angusti, portici, sottopassi, gradinate.
Suggerimento: lungo la statale che da Amalfi vi conduce a Positano merita una visita la grotta dello Smeraldo e il fiordo di Furore.

CapriDurante i mesi estivi 30-40 minuti di aliscafo da Amalfi.In inverno un’ora di macchina fino a Sorrento e poi 30 minuti di aliscafo. Durata della visita: 5 ore
Capri è semplicemente uno dei luoghi più belli del mondo. Il periodo migliore per visitarla è quello della base stagione tra novembre e marzo o durante la settimana, quando la folla non invade l’isola. Ma nonostante questa quotidiana invasione Capri conserva il suo fascino romantico. Fu la straordinaria attrattiva del luogo a portare l’imperatore Tiberio a costruire qui una lussuosa villa conosciuta come Villa Iovis e il fisico svedese Axel Munte ad erigere VillaSan Michele, che si trova sulle fondamenta di un’altra casa patrizia di origine romana.
Degni di nota sono inoltre la Certosa di San Giacomo e i giardini di Augusto. La Certosa ha due chiostri e all’interno del più piccolo si possono ammirare alcune statue romane ritrovate all’interno della grotta azzurra. Dai giardini di Augusto invece si gode una vista favolosa sui Faraglioni.
La Grotta Azzurra è invece raggiungibile in 15 minuti con delle barche che prestano servizio dal porto di Marina Grande.
Suggerimenti: invece di salire a Capri con la funicolare, noleggiate uno di quei taxi scoperti che si trovano al porto per scoprire le bellezze dell’isola. Se avete tempo vale la pena salire sul monte Solaro da dove si ammira un fantastico panorama del Golfo di Napoli e dell’isola di Capri.
Pompei1 ora da Ravello Tempo previsto per la visita minimo 2 ore
Pompei è una delle città di origine romana presenti in Campania che vennero sepolte dall’eruzione del Vesuvio nel 79D.C.; riportata alla luce durante gliultimi 2 secoli ha fondamentali sulla conoscenza della vita quotidiana delle antiche civiltà. Gli scavi sono sufficientemente isolati dalla parte moderna di Pompei, preservando così un’illusione di antichità. Gli scavi sono aperti ogni giorno dalle ore 9.00 fino a due ore prima del tramonto. I custodi ufficiali vi forniranno tutte le informazioni necessarie e apriranno su richiesta le case e i luoghi chiusi.

Il Centro AnticoIlcuoredellacittàvecchia(centroantico)includelafamosaViaSanGregorioArmeno, che è detta la strada degli angeli e dove vengono fatti tutti i presepi e le miniaturedeipastori.NoncercateViaSanGregoriosullamappaperchéèunapiccola area intorno alla chiesa che ha lo stesso nome. Invece troverete un ‘area rettangolare tra piazza del Gesù e Piazza Dante, che ha come limite orientale ilDuomo.LestradeprincipaliperloshoppingeperlevisiteguidatesonoViaCroceeViaTribunali.ViaCrocehacambiatoilsuonomemoltevolte.L’areaèuna parte di storia reale, un museo all’aperto che etichetta i palazzi e vi indica il percorso da seguire.
Porta AlbaAdiacente alla città vecchia, conduce ad un milione di negozi di libri. Subito oltrec’èViaCostantinopoli,pienadinegozidiantiquariato.Unavoltaalmesedurante il week end c’è un mercato delle pulci (eccetto in Agosto).
SE DESIDERATE TRASCORRERE UNA GIORNATA DIVERSA VI SUGGERIAMO:
ImmersioniPer i clienti appassionati di immersioni c’è un buon centro di diving a Praiano. Il centro ha in dotazione una barca a vela di 12 metri e organizza escursioni al fine di esplorare le varie grotte lungo la costa. Un esempio è la scogliera della Punta del capo di Conca verso nord-ovest, dove è possibile immergersi in una piccola grotta a 30 metri di profondità. Il soffitto di questa grotta è ricco di spugne multicolori, ma la cosa più interessante di questa grotta è che ci sono milioni di gamberi che vivono in queste spugne. Bellissimi effetti di lucearrivano dai fori situati sul soffitto della grotta. Immergetevi in questa scogliera per delle foto stupende.
Escursioni in barcaUn modo piacevole per trascorrere la giornata è noleggiare un motoscafo per esplorare la costa. L’hotel può indicarvi differenti tipi di barche a prezzi diversi.Le escursioni partono da Amalfi o Minori in mattinata verso le 10 – 10.30. L’equipaggio vi porterà lentamente lungo la costa fino a raggiungere l’isola di Capri, con la visita di Grotta Azzurra, i Faraglioni, l’Arco naturale. Se siete interessati potete anche fare una breve visita a Capri ed Anacapri oppure semplicemente rilassarvi in barca .L’equipaggio troverà per voi un posto adatto per nuotare e vi indicherà un buon ristorante. Al ritorno nel tardo pomeriggio potete fermarvi a Positano per un aperitivo o per comprare i tipici sandali fatti a mano!

RavelloSituated on the cliff-top of the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is a very important historical and cultural center. Among the various places of outstanding interest are: Villa Rufolo, Villa Cimbrone and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. Famous classical music concerts are held on a stage perched over the sea from July through October. For more information and the calendar of concert and other festival events, please contact Reception.
The mountains behind Ravello are extremely amazing: A walking tour of the mountains down to Minori or Atrani is a different way of spending a day. Our concierge can suggest you a few ones providing more information and detailed maps.
WALKS FROM RAVELLO:

This path makes its way at an easy gradient down from the main square of Ravellotothesea-frontofMinori,goingthroughthesmallvillageofTorelloand passing four chapels.
From the main square take the wide alley on the left to Villa Rufolo. Go through a tunnel under the Rufolo gardens, some 200m from the main square you come to a mirror road. Cross this road and descend (via San Pietro) for a further100mtoachapelwithalargeantechamber.Turnleftalongalevel,thengently-descendingpath(viaLoggetta).After200mturnrightataTjunction.ImmediatelycrossaminorroadandenterTorello,reachingitslargechapelonthe right after 200m. The path continues to descend gradually for 1km, past another chapel and water tap. Nearing Minori, the end of the road is met with acemeteryontheright.Turnrighttopassinfrontofthecemeteryandfollowthe path to the left, down steps. Just before the last flight of steps to the main coast road, go left under a house and take the steps down to Minori crossing the main coast road.

Ravello – Atrani 45 minutes
Layout of the walk: Dome Square, Rome Street, St Maria a Gradillo Square, Sigilgaita Street, State Road 373, Ravello – Castiglione, Fuime Street, Dragone Valley, Atrani town.
The walk begins from the Dome Square and continues through a picturesque lane, Rome Street, to reach St Maria a Gradillo Square. You need to take Sigilgaita Street and part of public road 373 Ravello Castiglione: you will go through a tunnel under an old paper-mill, now a mechanic office. Follow again the main road and take Via Fiume along the luxuriant Dragone Valley (so called becauseofthestreamflowingthroughtheValley),tothevillageofAtrani.Toreach Amalfi from Atrani takes approximately 10 minutes.
Amalfi20 minutes from Ravello2 hours to visit the town
Amalfi was the first Sea Republic of Italy. After the fall of the Roman Empire, it was the first to re-establish relationships between the east and the west by transporting into Italy exotic merchandise, such as carpets, coffee and paper. Amalfimadeitsowncointhe“Tari”wasthehometoFlavioGioia,theinventorof the compass and gave navigators themaritine law known as “Tabula deAmalphi”.
The Duomo, a glittering Cathedral, is viewed from down below. The steep walk up is a chance to appreciate the spindly Moorish archways and geometric facade, inlaid with vivid mosaics.
To the left of the church is the Cloister of Paradise, a medieval patriciancementery which was later incorporated into the church. It is now a museum of Amalfitan art, from the Etruscan coffins to Renaissance frescoes. Classical concerts are held in the cloisters during the summer. The covered streets are reminiscent of the soul, as are the arcaded piazzas on either side of Via Genova. TheTavoleAmalfitane,theLatinbookofnavellaw,isvisibleintheMunicipio,a palace. The law applied until 1570.

Positano45 minutes from Ravello2 hours to visit the townTucked into the steep hillsides rolling down from the highest peaks of theLattari mountain range, Positano holds a unique position on the Amalfi Coast as well as being a glamorous playground for wealthy Italians. There can hardly be a writer or artist of note over the last 200 years who has not been enchanted by theuniqueallureofCapri.Today,its“capital”town,hardlymorethanavillage,is somewhat like a stage set for an 18th century operetta- a painted pastiche of small, livelysquares;boutiqueshops&pastelorwhite-washedhouses,andawarren of mysterious Moorish alleyways no wider than a donkey cart loaded with the rough coral building blocks that over the centuries have fashioned a townscape of extraordinary artistry.Suggestions: insteadofgoinguptoCapribythe“Funicolare”rentataxiattheport, the driver will show you all the beautis of the island. If you have time visit Monte Solaro in Anacapri by chairlift, you can admire spectacular views of the mainland.

Pompeii1 hour from Ravello: minimum 2 hours to explore the excavation site.This is the world famous Campanian town of imperial Roman times that was buried by a sudden, catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius on the 24th of August 79 AD. It has been extensively excavated over the last two centuries so that much of the original town has now been exposed. The most fascinating aspect of Pompeii is that it offers a walk back into time, back 2000 years, recreating the daily life of ordinary Romans. Visitors can stroll along the lava-paved roads past rows of shops and private houses, public baths, market squares and temples. Pompeii is indisputably one of the world’s most mesmerizing architectural and cultural treasures. Driving time from Ravello: approximately 1 hour.
Herculaneum30 minutes from Pompeii: 2 hours to explore the excavation site.Just at a few kilometres from Pompeii is the town of Ercolanum (Herculaneum), also buried in the volcanic cataclysm of 79AD. It is smaller than Pompeii, but in some ways is better preserved and can be more easily taken in on a day visit. Driving time from Ravello: approximately 1 hour.
Suggestions: Don’t miss the Vesuvio with spectacular views around the Bay of Naples and overlooking the excavation site.
Paestum1 hour and 30 minutes from Ravello: 2 hours to visit the excavation sites.This is an original landing ground and settlement of the ancient Greeks, foundedaround600B.C.Itsnamederivesfrom“Poseidon”-GodoftheSea-to whom the town was dedicated. Paestum is set in a vast and varied landscape and offers almost a mystic or spiritual experience to visitors taking time to sit and meditate in a quiet corner of a temple to the Greek immortals, one of the most historic monuments in Southern Italy. In the vicinity is the town of Velia and the provincial capital of Salerno.

SalernoCapital of Campania’s southernmost province, Salerno has much of the scruffy, disorganised charm of Naples. Its grim industrial suburbs come as a particular shock after the beauty of the wild coastline. Its claim to fame is that it was the capital of the Norman Empire in the 11th century. It is also lays claim to the oldest medical school in Europe, supposedly founded by an Arab, a Jew, a ChristianandaTurk.Ifyoulikeshoppingdon’tmissviadeiMercanti,whereyou can visit the Duomo, consecrated in 1085, but much altered today. This cathedral follows the local fashion of having a pair of bronze doors from Castinopoli and a another set of 12th – century mosaic – inlaid pulpits of the kind found in Ravello.
Suggestion: A stop in Vietri sul Mare. An amazing array of shops, their facades a mass of ceremic tiles is a place where you can choose from thousands of ceramic shapes of pots and plates, tiles and dishes.
Naples1 hour and 30 minutes from RavelloNaples is the capital of the region of Campania and the third largest city in Italy having a population of about 1 million inhabitants. founded by the Greeks who called it Neapolis, which means new town or new city, it quickly achieved considerable importance and prosperity. In the year 328 B.C., it fell under Roman domination and throughout a long period it formed part of the territory of Rome. Naples maintained a position of great prestige dominated over the centuries by different nations and cultures, including the French, Germansand theTurks.Thenation,whichprobablyhad themost influenceon the architecture, language, customs and way of life, was Spain. The Spanish ruled over the city from the 15th to the beginning of the 18th century. Naples progressively reinforced all the mercantile advantages connected with the sea trade. It distinguished itself from all the other cities on the coast and became an increasingly important trading centre. Naples has one of the most important archaeological collections in the world housed in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale. Here are displayed treasures and everyday items from Pompeii, Ercolanum and other ancient sites. However, the centre is full of churches and important buildings such as the Duomo, Gesù Nuovo, The Royal Palace in Piazza Plebiscito and the Capodimonte Gallery with paintings of Masaccio, Raffaello,TizianoandVanDyke.
Suggestions: Museums are closed on Mondays except for the National Archeological museum and the Cappella of San Severo.

NAPOLI LUXURY SHOPPING
The main upscale shopping district is a few blocks from the strip of luxury hotels on the waterfront. Just walk along the water (with the castle to your rear) until you come to a clump of palm trees that represent the Piazza Vittorio, turn right, and head up.
Now it gets slightly tricky as this is an important district, and you don’t want to miss all the parts. You can, and will, miss part of it if you don’t look at the map.
The Via Calabritto is one of the main tony shopping streets (Prada at no.9) with many of the big name designers. It stretches from Piazza Vittorio to Piazza dei Martiri and the large Ferragamo shop. Versace is down the street from Ferragamo.
There are few side streets off the Piazza dei Martiri that will make you feel like you are in Italy; there are some antiques shops located down the Via Domenico Morelli. The area is not without charm. Equally charming is the fact that you then rest of the luxury shops: Bulgari, Zegna, Hermès, Frette...
Via ChiaiaThis is a real shopping street that’s between the luxury shopping district and Via Roma. Use it to cross over from one neighborhood to the other or to get to Via dei Mille. It is all an easy walk. For shopping there is very little to distract you. It is a great fun.
Via RomaTheViaRoma is the commercial heart of the town calledViaToledo lowerdown and becomes Via Roma near Piazza Dante. This street stretches for 2 miles from the Piazza del Plebiscito, right near the Maritime Station, through the centre of town, passing the Piazza Carita on its way to the Piazza Dante and then ending near the National Museum.
Centro AnticoThe core of the old town (centro antico) includes the famous Via San Gregorio Armeno. This is the street of angels, where all the miniatures and presepios (crèches) are made. But don’t look for Via San Gregorio Armeno on your map, as it is a small area around the church of the same name. Instead you want to find the rectangular area between the Piazza del Gesù and piazza Dante, reaching over to the Duomo as its other border. The main streets for shopping, sightseeingandabsorbingthesoulofNaplesareViaCroceandViaTribunali.Via Croce will change its name a few times, so do not worry. The area is part of a leaving history, outdoor museum program that labels the buildings and tells you the path to walk.

Port AlbaAdjacent to the old town, you find the Port Alba, a medieval doorway that leads to many bookstores. Just beyond this is the Via Costantinopoli, filled with antique shops. Once a month there is an outdoor flea market on the weekend (except in August).

Boat ExcursionA nice way in spending a day is renting a speed boat to explore the coast. The hotel can provide different types of boats and prices.
Excursions start from Amalfi or Minori in the morning around 10 – 10.30 a.m. The crew will slowly take you along the Amalfi Coast until you reach Capri with the visit of the blue and green Grotto, the Anacapri, or you can relax on the boat. The crew will find a good place where to swim and indicate a good restaurant. On the way back in the evening you can always stop in Positano for aN“aperitivo”orbuysomehandmadesandals!
