Also in this section are brief, accessible interviews with notable retailers and influential industry leaders.
FEATuRES: This center section features in-depth stories about the people, products, services and issues that make up today’s paint and decorating industry. These bright, visual features illuminate the most important product and service categories, interpret today’s best retail business strategies, and highlight the smart, colorful individuals who are the modern paint and decorating retail community.
COvERAgE: The articles in this section focus on the important issues shaping the industry’s future. We bring to light retailers and organizations who are making positive contributions to the paint and decorating business while exploring advances in science, health and technology.
How to tell if a Story is a PDR Story
PDR stories should involve the paint and decorating industry and have at least one but preferably more than one of the following qualities.
A PDR story should be:
• Important for many retailers to know about and understand
• Compelling for many retailers
• Announcing new things, such as products, policies, services, programs, trends, regulations, technologies or business strategies
• Discussing ways to improve something in the industry
Remember that Paint & Decorating Retailer exists for the benefit of paint
and decorating retailers. We are their advocates. We are not a cheerleader
for any specific company. So before submitting story ideas, ask yourself how
many retailers and industry people outside of your organization would find
the information useful or compelling. If a great many would, then we’d love
to hear from you.
