The enclosure is made of 3 mm thick, powder coated aluminium sheet. The upper cover facilitates easy servicing (lockable cover equipped with an anti-slip protective coating, i.e. chequered plate). The basic function of the power transmission box is to ensure connections, safety measures and installation of contact-connection equipment between the energy store (traction battery) and drive system. The power transmission box is equipped with auxiliary equipment, i.e. a PLC, auxiliary converters, insulation tester and other controllers required for a given project configuration. Example power transmission box configuration: · voltage switchboard; · on-board battery charger; · inverter to supply the power steering pump (AC1); · inverter to supply the air compressor motor (AC2) and BTMS (AC4); · inverter to supply the passenger air conditioning system (AC3); · insulation monitoring; · control system. ENI-EBUS/CENT power transmission box

The universal power transmission box consists of a single-body box to be mounted on the roof of an electrically-driven vehicle. The enclosure is made of 3 mm thick, powder coated aluminium sheet. The upper cover facilitates easy servicing (lockable cover equipped with an anti-slip protective coating, i.e. chequered plate). The basic function of the power transmission box is to ensure connections, safety measures and installation of contact-connection equipment between the energy store (traction battery) and drive system. The power transmission box is equipped with auxiliary equipment, i.e. a PLC, auxiliary converters, insulation tester and other controllers required for a given project configuration.

The on-board battery charger is used to convert the battery voltage into the on-board battery voltage, with an option to limit the battery charging current. The unit is based on SiC technology transistors, so it does not require any additional cooling except for natural air cooling.

The inverter transforms constant traction voltage into three-phase alternating voltage, without the neutral phase. The inverter output has a “sinusoidal filter”, ensuring that the shape of the output voltage is suitable for typical (non-traction) motors. A PLC controls the line operation and activates the line in certain circumstances when power steering is required.

The inverter transforms constant traction voltage into three-phase alternating voltage, without the neutral phase. The inverter features two independent power outputs of up to 10 kW. The inverter output has “sinusoidal filters”, ensuring that the shape of the output voltage is suitable for (non-traction) motors. The PLC controls operation of the lines which, depending on the project configuration, receive information from the bus system regarding the necessity to enable the compressor (CAN or IO) and BTMS.

A BENDER insulation sensor is installed inside the power transmission box to ensure constant monitoring of the condition of the insulation between the WN+/- potentials and the vehicle structure. .Minimum voltage: 300 VDC

Tested resistance: >1 MΩThe sensor indications are analysed by the PLC, which immediately reacts to any error signals.

Insulation monitoring

DRIVE CONTROLLER

A dedicated drive controller responsible for communication between the traction inverter and the PLC is installed in the power transmission box. It also runs the diagnostics for inverter operation and controls activation of the high-voltage contactors.Apart from its basic functions, the controller activates the following:· „hill holder” - holds the vehicle on a slope, and prevents excess backward motion;· maximum speed limit (fixed setting in the software).

PLC

The PLC controls the contact / communication connection between the traction battery, drive system and other vehicle systems. It additionally controls the auxiliary converters, cooling system and socket controller (ENI-CHARGER_PANEL).
