She was the wife of the late Kay Sloan, a member of the Baptist Church in Knight- stown, Indiana and was also pre- ceded in death by an infant son and five sisters. She is survived by a son, Larry E. (Faye) Sloan, Anderson, IN; a sister, Etta (Lyle) Dotson, Jackson, MI; four grandchildren, Brian K. Sloan, Knightstown, IN; Tammy Goodpastor, York- town, IN; Jody Sloan, New Cas- tle, IN; David Sloan, Louisville, KY; also six great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by three sons, James Roger (Connie) Burchett, Jamestown, KY; Gary L. and Jes- sie Burchett, both of Albany; two brothers, J.T. (Lavonne) Had- ley, Albany; Herman “Dickie” (Alva) Hadley, Jamestown, KY; special friend, Thelma Mercer; two nephews, Jimmy and Bry- ant Hadley; two grandchildren, Andrew and Angie and two great-grandchildren, Timmy and Sophia. Beulah Aaron Beulah Aaron, 88, Albany, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Clinton County Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Jesse Harvey Aaron and a member of Semi- nary United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Deborah Aaron; a sister, Marie Willen and two brothers, Frank and Odell Burchett. She is survived by two daugh- ters, Barbara (Darrell) Sher- rard, IN; Linda (Ron) Burchett, Glasgow, KY; three sons, Ralph (Barb) Aaron, Louisville, KY; Jerry (Terry) and Dewey Aaron, Albany; a sister, Jewel My- ers, Burkesville, KY; a brother, Evert Burchett, Glasgow, KY; 10 grandchildren, Pamula, Greg, Eddie, Annette, Dewey Lynn, Ronald, Richard, Stefanie, Jes- sica and Brad; 14 great-grand- children and four great-great- grandchildren. Arrangements made through Tal- bott Funeral Home of Albany. Martha Alice Dixon Brummett Martha Alice Dixon Brum- mett, 82, was born to Rev. Er- nest and Zone Haynes Dixon on June 14, 1929 in Russell County, Ky. She was the third child of eight (seven girls and one boy.) Her father became a Method- ist preacher soon after her birth and she often accompanied him to church in his many charges. She was an accomplished pia- nist, and enjoyed playing for the church services. While Rev. Dixon was pas- tor of Albany United Methodist Church, Martha met and married Louis Oscar Brummett, who was song leader and a wonderful ten- or at the methodist church. They were blessed with one child, Ernest Louis Brummett born on November 25, 1956. Martha joined her parents, her husband and her son in that glorious home of no more sorrow or tears on Monday, April 2, 2012. She was preceded in death by Alma Dixon Smith and J.D. Dixon, her older siblings. Also greeting her in heaven are one nephew, one niece and four brothers-in- law. She is survived by her five siblings, Edna D. Hale, Mira D. Jewell (and T.J.), Pat D. Duvall (and Billy F.), Linda D. Stahl, Rebecca Eckles (and Jerry). She is also survived by Shirley Dixon, sister-in-law, six nieces, five nephews, five great-nieces, and seven great-great-nieces and nephews. Martha has many surviving relatives on both sides of her parents. They each know how special they were to Martha. Her funeral was held on Sat- urday, April 7, 2012 at Albany United Methodist Church, with Bro. Charlie Shoemake and Bro. Jeff Brown officiating. Final resting place in Albany Ceme- tery. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Ko- rean Conflict. Seven die on Kentucky roadways Preliminary statistics* indicate that seven people died in seven separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, April 2, through Sunday, April 8, 2012. All of the fatalities involved motor vehicles and six victims were not wearing seat belts. Single-fatality crashes occurred in Barren, Boone, Daviess, Hopkins, Knox, Rockcastle and Scott counties. Through April 8, 2012, preliminary statistics* indicate that 161 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2012. This is four less fatalities than reported for the same time period in 2011. There have been 136 motor vehicle fatalities and 79 of those vic- tims were not wearing seat belts. Eighteen of those crashes involved a commercial motor vehicle. Eleven crashes involved a motorcycle and eight victims were not wearing helmets. Two crashes involved an ATV and one victim was not wearing a helmet. Twelve crashes involved a pedestrian. Twenty-six deaths have resulted from crashes involving the suspected use of alcohol. Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555. Callers will remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel and license number if possible. *These statistics are still preliminary as KSP waits for all local law enforcement agencies throughout the state to report any crashes and fatalities that may have occurred in their areas.
