Page 1 of 3 Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission Proclamation 19-04 Wildlife Management Areas, Public Hunting Areas, and Refuges Hunting Seasons, Limits and Miscellaneous Regulations Pursuant to the authority granted by Tennessee Code Annotated Sections 70-4-107 and 70-5-108, the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission hereby amends Proclamation 18-06 as follows: In Section II. Wildlife Management Areas and Refuges - Seasons and Bag Limits, the South Cherokee section is deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following: South Cherokee Dove, Grouse, Quail, Rabbit, Snipe, Squirrel, Waterfowl, Woodcock Deer/Bear (Archery) Deer (Muzzleloader) Same as statewide, except as noted. Small game hunters, except raccoon and opossum hunters, must wear 500-square inches of fluorescent orange during big game muzzleloader and gun hunts. Spring squirrel season is closed. Closed to all hunting Mar. 1 - 4 th Friday in Aug., except during turkey season. Small game hunting in bear reserves and party hunt area during scheduled party hunts prohibited one day before and during bear (dogs permitted) hunts. Proclamation 19-04

Wildlife Management Areas, Public Hunting Areas, and Refuges Hunting Seasons, Limits and Miscellaneous Regulations

Pursuant to the authority granted by Tennessee Code Annotated Sections 70-4-107 and 70-5-108, the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission hereby amends Proclamation 18-06 as follows:

In Section II. Wildlife Management Areas and Refuges - Seasons and Bag Limits, the South Cherokee section is deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:

One hunt. Oct.13-14, 2018 (Oct. 19-20, 2019). One deer, antlered or antlerless, counts toward statewide bag limit.

Two hunts. Nov 17-25, Dec 10-25, 2018. (Nov 16-Dec 1, Dec 18-25, 2019.) Two deer, antlered only, counts toward statewide bag limit.

Four hunts. Sep. 29-Oct.7, Oct. 29-Nov. 2, Nov. 26-Dec. 9, Dec. 27-30., 2018. (Oct 5-13, Oct. 28-Nov. 1, Dec. 2-15, Dec 26-29, 2019.) . One bear, either sex. Hunting confined to that area outside the Ocoee and Tellico Bear Reserves.

Four hunts. Sep. 29-30, Oct. 6-7, Oct. 29-30, Nov. 26-27, 2018. (Oct. 5-6, Oct. 12-13, Oct. 28-29, Dec. 2-3, 2019). Quota party dog hunts, 75 permits per party. One party permitted in each of the following areas: Upper Tellico, Lower Tellico, Upper Bald River, and Lower Bald River. One bear, either sex.

Party-Dog Area closed during scheduled quota party-dog hunts.

Non-hunting juveniles under the age of 13 may accompany an adult hunter (18 years old or older) who has a valid party-hunt permit. Juveniles must also comply with all regulations specified for permitted hunters.

Outside of Tellico and Ocoee Bear Reserves Nov. 3-15, 2018 (Nov. 2-14, 2019), Jan. 1-last day of Feb. Inside Tellico and Ocoee Bear Reserves hunters are limited to a maximum of two dogs per vehicle Jan. 1-31.

Sep.5-14, 2018 (Sept. 4-13, 2019). No bears may be harvested. No weapons may be possessed. No training in bear reserves.

Same as statewide spring turkey season.

Jan. 1-last day of February.

Bear reserves are closed to all big game hunting when the bear (dogs permitted) season is open on the South Cherokee.

22 caliber short, and long rifle are the only legal weapons on a raccoon hunt.

Wild hogs may be taken during any deer or bear hunt with no limit.
