On Oct 22, Lt. Ray Packard was finally laid to rest in his home soil with full military honors. The Gentleman receiving the flag is Ray’s nephew and oldest living relative. Thanks again to Gary Koch, 474 FG historian for the background story and these photos. Of note – Gary’s dad was part of that same mission and engagement that led to Ray’s loss and was able to relate the events of that day to Ray’s nephew.
