has been showcased in muse-
ums and galleries across the
county with special stops at
Chicagos Museum of Science
and Industry and the William
Clinton Presidential Library
and Museum. The Exhibition
will be leaving New York for
the Richmond area in Sep-
tember marking the rst time
Virginians will be able to view
this unique exhibit chronicling
the common artistic links
found throughout Dr. Seusss
almost 70 years of creativity.
The Art of Dr. Seuss Nation-
al Curator, Bill Dreyer, will be
present at Bella Arte Gallery for
the exhibition opening on the
evening of Thursday, Sept. 13,
to pro-
vide in-

life, his

v i s i o n
and his
i m p a c t
on Amer-
i c a n
culture.
Dreyer,
a gradu-
ate of
Midlothian High School and for-
mer resident of the Richmonds
Fan District, is excited to be re-
turning to the area to showcase
this very special collection from
The Art of Dr. Seuss.
Exhibitionhighlights:
Bella Arte Gallery will high-
light a selection of rare artworks
from The Art of Dr. Seuss col-
lection. The gallery will show-
case nearly twenty of the most
sought-after estate editions
from the past decade, giving
visitors an opportunity to view
and acquire some of the most
important works the collection
has to offer. Featured works
include: The Economic Situ-
ation Claried, Cat from the
Wrong Side of the Tracks, and
I Dreamed I was a Doorman at
the Hotel Del Coronado.
The exhibition begins with
early drawings in Life maga-
zine, including editorial, ad-
vertising, military and book
illustrations, as well as sev-
eral works from the Secret Art
collection, featuring rare and
never-before-seen images from
the 1920s to 90s. Thirty-two
special panels present both
original and reproduced histor-
ical pieces from 1927 through
1990, along with a selection of
authorized estate editions re-
produced under exclusive per-
mission from his family. Visi-
tors to the exhibition will come
away with an in-depth look at
the multifaceted artistic ca-
reer of Americas best known
childrens book author.
