Results

• Deployment of Outage Management Applications with Dynamic and continuously updated Restoration Time (ETR) calculations

• Geospatial Information System of electric network with Improvement in Customer count and 150% improvement in location accuracy

• Enterprise level business intelligence system supporting regulatory, compliance, and BI reporting with real-time updates

• Increased outage transaction capacity 5x levels seen in Super Storm Sandy• Data Virtualization provided 2x reduced Data Integration time

The high visibility project ($30M), arguably should have been a 3 year project, was completed in less than 12 months, on schedule, meeting all milestones, and

within project cost.

Lessons Learned

• Achievement made possible through a multi-functional agile project team that emphasized  management and communication skills with the customer and IT teams to ensure success.

• Used Vendor SME and onsite support early in development to mitigate risks of learning new technology and to gain early wins.

• Migration of legacy architecture into “cloud technologies” has to be re-engineered to reduce complexity, cost, and resulting risks.

“To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time.” Leonard Bernstein
