Mark Your Calendars Tuesday, January 8, 2018 @ 11am
The Friends of Southampton COA (FOSCOA) will start the new year by
hosting its annual membership meeting and election on Tuesday, January 8,
2019 at 11AM at the Senior Center. At this meeting, attendees will elect
seven (7) people for the following positions: Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer,
Clerk and three (3) at large members of the Board of Directors. The terms of office for each
position will vary. A summary of COSA’s & FOSCOA’s 2018 activities and accomplishments
will also be reported. We hope you can join us for this important meeting.
Light refreshments will be served.
*The FOSCOA is a registered 501 (c) (3) charitable organization,
comprised solely of volunteers, exclusively for charitable purposes In
support of the COA and its services for Southampton Seniors.

Southampton COA Partners with DOPAFIT
Chad Moir, is the owner of DopaFit™, a Parkinson’s Movement Program that spe-cializes in research and evidence based ex-ercise for people living with Parkinson’s. DopaFit™ has locations throughout Massa-chusetts, including right here in Southamp-ton, MA. Chad is Rock Steady Boxing, PWR! Moves, and Delay the Disease certified. He also has continuing education credits in Parkinson’s Fitness through the Interna-tional Sports Science Association. Chad is the co-founder and Chief Fitness Officer for The Art Cart. He is a Parkinson’s Public Poli-cy Advocate and lobbies at the White House every year to make issues of Parkin-son’s disease known to State officials throughout the United States. Chad studied Public Health at American International College and devotes time to give back to the Western Massachusetts community by working with several aging population or-ganizations and inner-city youth organiza-tions through a curriculum of programs he has developed benefiting each. Chad is a Board Member for the American Parkinson Disease Association Massachusetts Chapter and volunteers with various Parkinson’s or-ganizations across the United States. A 6 week course will be offered for our sen-iors free of charge due to a grant from the State for $5500. Stay tuned to upcoming dates and announcements!

supporting your community? Then contact Pat Sicard at RSVP, The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. RSVP is a federal Senior Corps Program that serves
Hampshire and Franklin Counties and is sponsored by the HCG, Hampshire Council of
Governments. RSVP’s mission is to recruit, match and support volunteers who want to make a local difference with community non-profits that need volunteers in order to
provide programs and services.
RSVP’s 620 volunteers are actively volunteering in 52 organizations and providing
support to Meals on Wheels, Companion and Medical Driving programs, Healthy Bones and Balance Exercise, Money Management and Brown Bag, Board and Fund Raising support and more. Check out the website at www.rsvphf.org .
